This is so sad to hear that Chanel quality is bad these days. I used to work for Chanel as a sa in the early 2000's and apart from the pearl necklace and crystal cc earrings we had almost never seen a quality issue. We would also get to purchase , on staff sale, all the bags that got damaged in stored or in transportation and no longer were fit for sale to customers.... And you could hardly guess what the damage was as it was sooo miniscule. It was a pleasure working there at that time as the products were amazing and the service we were able to provide was outstanding.
We are so thirsty for luxury bags, now the brands don't even care about quality. It's time we realized that the consumers have the power. This is not acceptable, especially since they charge an arm and a leg for them!
Finally up-to-date on the POF “series” and I’ve been 100% here for the conversation. Guru gossip shut down around this drama so I have only been discussing this situation with myself😐 drama aside I love the honest discussion around luxe retailers and the youtubers who buy them. I’m binging your videos right now!
This was hilarious it’s almost like she is giving us a catalog of items that will be on her page for selling. It’s like code for “grab it quick if you like it because I’m gonna put it in my eBay shop”
As an adult with small feet, I can also fit into kids' shoes. However, when the kids' shoes cost less, I find they are often of worse quality and don't last as long as adults' shoes.
OMGosh😱 this was so educational! I often take a few days before I open online purchases, if there are any defects, I would have been doomed. Thank you for the valuable lesson🙏
I once made an online purchase of palm spring mini from the official site. I knew it was authentic but couldn't stop questioning about it. The small leather piece on each side of the zipped compartment at the front were not even level, one was obviously higher, and the canvas looked very plastic. I couldn't convince myself to keep that bag for $1950+tax. It was sent back within 2 days.
I’ve also purchased a bag from LV online with quality issues (scratches all on the hardware it definitely felt like a return) It just sucks when you buy something so expensive and luxurious and it comes in the mail with faults
Just watched this because I’ve been binge watching a lot of your videos. I had the empty box thing happen at Tiffany as well. And to make it worse I was buying the item for my friend to give to his wife. They were boxing it in front of me but on a shelf below the counter. I just leaned over out of interest because I can never replicate their bows. The ring was still sitting on the black felt covered portable display tray that he had showed me the ring on when he took it out of the display case. I was horrified to think that I might not have noticed that and that my friend would have presented his wife with an empty Tiffany box on their anniversary!!!
I ordered some foundation from Nordstrom’s a few months ago, and they shipped me a completely empty shipping envelope. Nothing inside but the packing slip saying that my foundation was sent. Luckily, when I called them, they believed me and just re-shipped it, probably because I buy a lot of stuff there.
I once bought a bracelet from Hermès and just before I left the boutique I got a funny feeling, like you mentioned Dacob, and so I opened it and they had given me the wrong colour!
30:30 Of course, they have to be suspicious. Everyone who worked with customers knows what crazy shit some people are willing to do to scam companies or other people. Many years ago, I worked in a grocery, and there was a woman bought 2 or 3 big bottles of ketchup every few month, and later returned it to store. She just said "I bought the wrong ketchup, my son wanted the mild, not the hot katchup!" They were big plastc bottles, you couldn't see inside. But instead of the product, she brought just the bottle filled with water and tomato pieces. 🍅 It was just a coincidence that we caught her, because one time I dropped one of the bottles and it broke in front of our all feet. We checkt the other bottles and all 3 had just that 🍅 tomato water inside. She got the money back and they told her that this will be the last time that she could return ketchup. And one time a woman bought a few cans of cat food. And later that day her son returned it and he was very mad at us because we sold her cat food > "Why did you sell her that cat food??? She doesn't even has a cat!" But where should I know if she has a cat or not? She can buy whatever she wants if she has the money! We don't ask every person who buys dog food if he even has a dog. WTF!?
26:20 - Come on. Of course I would inspect the bottom of the bag! Doesn't matter who the customer is. Espcially at that price range! WTF!? That bag is not so big, they would have seen that scratch!
Quality control really is an issue with designer brands these days I really hate the fact that I have to spend so much time inspecting each time I purchase something particularly in the boutiques cause I feel judged or something when I do. I have only had one issue with a Louis Vuitton piece last year which I purchased online. I bought an pochette Felicie in the Azur print, the moment I opened it I was annoyed there were RED marks on the top of it. It was so stage I thought at fist it was red pen marks. after inspecting super close the marks were on the canvas UNDER the canvas coating. Totally baffled how it happened. When I called services they didnt seem to believe me but the exchanged anyway. They were really nice after however when the made a follow up call to me to make sure I was happy exchange and that there was nothing wrong with it. Also in relation to the the purse on fleek situation, I am totally convinced this must have been done by someone in the store. It looks like it may have been damaged by maybe a box cutter when they were opening the delivery they got into the store. I would say the vanity was close to the top of the packaged box so when the were opening it nicked the vanity. They probably noticed and chanced their arm selling it on.
I recently discovered you, after I watched the purseonfleek bye Hermes video. And can I just say I really appreciate the proper pronunciation of the brands. So many luxury yt’ers butcher the names so bad!
I brought several LV bracelets recently and one with a red mark. I sent it back to them and they sent me a replacement; after a sent them an email with a photo. I contacted them same day I received, I was worried that they don’t believe me, but they were very nice about it.
I wonder how often the boutiques screen out damaged and defective pieces. I can only assume mail order is not as fastidious. I knew someone who worked in an extremely high end purse boutique in DC. The employees would scratch bags in an inconspicuous spot then get their manager to sell it to them for half price.
The same thing had happened to me with Louis. Got a bag on-line at the boutique and the canvas was cracked, but it looked like a spot, very tiny and almost invisible to a regular person spot, but it was the first thing I noticed. So I went to the boutique and SA tried to clean the spot out, but it didn’t worked. Also SAs were suspicious that I used the bag and maybe a hand sanitizer or perfume were on the canvas, and that’s why it was ruined. But since I film unboxing of every package, cause you know, stuff may be missing and I need proofs, all the suspiciouss were over😆 Oh! Also non of the boutique managers could see the damage, but it was on the most visible part of the bag😂Louis did’n offer me a replacement , return only, my bag was sent to Paris for an expertise, which said the spot was a crack, and when that exact bag came in stock again, guess what? The price increased and I had to pay 200$ more for LV mistake, classic 😆

Makes no sense to me... many garments are also worn directly on skin, as are rings and bracelets... as well as shoes... and they can all be returned... so can gloves... and some people are not very clean or have skin diseases which could potentially be transmissible... so if we are going to do the return ban then everything that comes in contact with human skin should be banned from returns 🤷🏻

I think I saw it on Erica’s Girly World insta-story a while back. I could be mistaken where. Hmmm interesting. On the LV it should have been inspected. I did watch Mel’s video when it went live but always appreciate your take on it! ☺️😉
She is already selling the H slides on a FB group (FYI) which is fair enough. If you don't love an item/will use it, it's better to sell and pass it onto someone who will. This is something i've always done as I have seeing stuff in my closet that I don't use or wear. Also, Australia is still in a lock down so we can't go into the stores and look at the items before we purchase. Personally, I wouldn't buy any luxury items from a store blind (i.e something I haven't seen) as there is a huge risk that its not what you expected.
Poor Mel, how awful. It’s like (some) staff don’t care any more. I have purchased LV online a couple of times in Australia and it’s been a good experience. They even called me after my last purchase (a canvas bag, nothing too pricey) to see if I was happy with my purchase and the delivery and I am not a regular a customer; I own 3 LV pieces. As a side note, earrings cannot be returned in Australia due to hygiene reasons, along with skin care, makeup and swim wear, the exception being if something is broken. The UK is the same. You have a much more relaxed returns policy in the USA.
Earrings cannot be returned in Australia (pierced) due to health hygiene laws. Bad attitude/action by SA selling is your job, & you’re only as good as your last sale! As an SA if you’re transferring a product between stores to sell wouldn’t common sense dictate checking said product before sending to a client⁉️ I would of loved to see you running backwards up the down escalator. SuperDacob you made my day🤣😂 Best wishes from Adelaide; South Australia🇦🇺💐
I would get disappointed if a £4 bag from primark had a hole like that in it, never mind the kind of money that people pay for luxury items - this was messyyyyyy.
xx ohoo my god Dacob the way you tell the story has made me laugh so much this morning .i wish you would do more because thay are so comical so entertaining. On a seroius note LV shouldn't be sending crap out .
thank you Jacob! Love your 'being real'!!!! I went to get a pair of earrings sometime ago and we can clearly see that the post were crooked.. the SA shrug and was like.. this is new..I'm like.. BYE...E...
I always by trainers (sneakers) from the children's section I have UK size 2.5/3 feet. I even fit into some clothes too always finding way to save on stuff to then use that money to buy more bags 🤣🤣 Edit: I get my SA to check the whole bag and to send me pics before I OK her to send it to me. I can't believe if a SA checked it over wouldn't have seen this. No matter where its sent for it should be checked.
pizdets! poor quality for such price! I bought a genuine leather phone case at the Apple store. I left the store without checking it. And when I opened the box at home I saw ..... liquid stains on half of the case. I'm sure it was a poor quality control in production because the box and other parts of the case were not damaged.
Maybe it’s a scam? She looks like the type of “Karens” that would damage an item to blackmail a store looking for some sort of gain… in her case, making this type of content for TH-cam views…
Awh I hope not. I’ve gotten a LV bag 💼 off the LV website with a ton of scratches on the hardware. Didn’t make a video of it because I dont want to make a big deal but with some of the stuff I’ve bought off of the LV website without seeing it in store before… it wouldn’t surprise me if they sent a return 😬
@Sara Li wow, that’s good, definitely can’t in UK or Ireland and I’m pretty sure France and Italy if I remember correctly - could also depend on store I guess

I thought you can return swimwear if the sticker is still on
The Nice makeup bag is my latest Vuitton acquisition. I bought pink and just bought a pale pink electric toothbrush.
Ooo I want that. Was it the fuchsia one?
I LOVE your videos . Keep up the great content!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
What a horrible thing to happen, wow, they are loosing it if they thinks sending out items like that.
I can’t get into those Sanreve bags, just not a fan. Did you take a good look at how that ribbon was tied?🤔
its not a haul, it's an advert
thank you Jacob! Love your 'being real'!!!! I went to get a pair of earrings sometime ago and we can clearly see that the post were crooked.. the SA shrug and was like.. this is new..I'm like.. BYE...E...
Uhhh Yarida! The shade! Wow! That SA though...
There must be so many people who are scammy because sales associates are so distrusting and treat all customers returning poorly.
I always by trainers (sneakers) from the children's section I have UK size 2.5/3 feet. I even fit into some clothes too always finding way to save on stuff to then use that money to buy more bags 🤣🤣
Edit: I get my SA to check the whole bag and to send me pics before I OK her to send it to me. I can't believe if a SA checked it over wouldn't have seen this. No matter where its sent for it should be checked.
I used to work with a lady that was the same. Who can blame you, with not having to pay 20% VAT that's some savings!!
I wish they also made kids prices for smaller handbags ;) Haha! I would LOVE it!
@@SuperDacob yessss I am a little person so small bags costing less would be perfect! 😂
I wish... I have giant feet 😭😭😭
I am familiar with the chanel policy of no-returns on accessories. You have to be sure it suites you before you decide to buy it.
That girl is so cringe.
You are so entertaining and educatical. I try to watch all your videos But it seems all to be 2 years old.
Hello Dacob!!!I have missed your YT live,,,😊 sending ❤️❤️❤️ from Santorini (vacay)
pizdets! poor quality for such price!
This is not long shot lol especially after her Hermes incident
I got sent a lv bag with part of the lock coming off. I was shocked to say the least.
😂
☝️💯
Awh I hope not. I’ve gotten a LV bag 💼 off the LV website with a ton of scratches on the hardware. Didn’t make a video of it because I dont want to make a big deal but with some of the stuff I’ve bought off of the LV website without seeing it in store before… it wouldn’t surprise me if they sent a return 😬
Hey Dacob, you can’t return earrings in Europe either!
@Sara Li wow, that’s good, definitely can’t in UK or Ireland and I’m pretty sure France and Italy if I remember correctly - could also depend on store I guess
Watching this has me clutching all my vintage LV tightly🫢. This is terrible.
💖
28:54 reminds me of a scene from Curb Your Enthusiasm. The suspicious look 🧐
They ain't gonna get Dacob to pay double for one! ;)
Love your videos you say it like is !
Thank you Terry!
I heard great things about sneaker by the Loewe ON collaboration … tried to get one but they no longer have my size.
I live in South Australia and we don’t have an LV store in our state 🤨 so I have no choice but to order online.
I’m sorry, she’s annoying. But I’ll watch Dacob no matter what 🤣
This was way to hilarious!!! Where was the LV unboxing? 🤣🤣🤣…she talked random stuff to much…🤪🤪🤪
Great video love 💕
Lmfao the scandal 🤣love how you delivered the drama 🤣.
However Definitely that' scratch is not good at all! 👎
Thanks Ulla
Good Lord. Look, I sell things if after a year or more they don’t work out for me but this girl buys things she doesn’t even want at the point of purchase. However that Nice BB is trash and needs to get returned wow.
Yeah... the Nice BB gots to go!
Are we sure this isn’t a little piece of glue from manufacturing that can be picked off? I can’t believe there is a rip 😳
Definitely a rip
Oh Please ... these luxury influencers go twenty minutes into the video blabbing about different topics before they get to the actual video title.
Not a LV edition 😭😭
I do this with my 20pc chicken nuggets from McDonalds! If I paid for 19pc, I wouldn’t have paid for the 20pc! PPL! Check y’a shit before y’a confirm everything is in order
Of course Nike and adidas etc. have to produce Excellent. Please do not ask me again. I hate reviews. Sorry Clara or Chanel’s as they do not have the logistics to produce sneakers!
Now she is just doing these videos for views. Tired of her
Stop being petty and giving this more air.....
Petty? Lol! You just commented on another one of my videos literally one whole minute before you commented on this video right here. This means that you did not even watch this video at all but just left an ignorant and petty keyboard warrior comment without having the slightest clue what my video is aiming to actually say. You trolls really are a species on your own. 😂 But hey, keep writing ignorant comments. The engagement my channel gets from it is great for the algorithm.
Hi dacob ..love watching your channel i think ur a very elegant clever guy..can i ask are you straight or gay? I hope your not offended by my question x
I think he's gay but Im just guessing
@@em84c me too but i thought i heard him say he has kids altho gay people havr kids too x he could be anything still love him lol
Chanel is going down in their value. I am sad to say this. But, it is true.
