The reason the lava is mostly moving to the top is because, as far as I can tell from playing the game, the default direction for material to float within another material is "upwards," even when the only gravity is from a gravity generator. I assume this is because the default is having universal downwards gravity, and the floating was a convenient shortcut. The same thing happens with ice formation and plant growth- ice tends to float to the top of planets, and plants only grow upwards. It is my one major pet peeve with the simulation.
When the huge chunk of metal hit the planet and lava went everywhere, there was that one glacier that just ran away from it and it actually got pretty far😂
I wan you to make a MASSIVE planet with the feature of the core being heated by friction, then throw a small but fast asteroid at it and see what happens (when I say fast I mean like enough speed to out run a bullet)
In this simulator if the dirt ( earth) is heat, it becomes lava when lava cools down it becomes rock , the rock can become sand . But actually there's no way to get earth ( dirt)
It’s possible people have done this before this update was even a thing it’s just that they have a few hundreds of subscribers while you have almost 200,000 subscribers
thanks for the latest update review! btw, to make plants grow you should basically use earth material, water material and sun rays. also, setting Material[plant].aqualize=1 will allow plants to directly adsorb water and life should growth much faster with enough of rays and water. also, you should a little increase of default external Sun.multiplier (3-10-30) to achieve more Sun energy. also, Asteroids impact is balanced for Cosmos.cde_heat_mul=0.5-1.5, I think. only on such values stones thats falling on each other produces enough energy to meltdown the surface. and this value is not well balanced to automatically created stone from cooldown lava, so I think you should first try to experiment with Planet Asteroids on default Planet Volcano scene to get a feel for how it should work
can you make all parts of water (steam, water, ice) heavier and make a water only planet instead of just having water on the surface? Or maybe have a mostly water planet with a metal core or something? It could be cool, and you might get better tectonics because the water vapor made from the heat from the pressure will want to escape like it was when you were reducing the seed distance for water at the start of the tectonic attempts!
i hope more people see this i watched a couple of these videos and am now totally convinced to buy it, it looks like an incredible simulation game with a lot of effort put in i hope it gets more popular.
I would like to see what happens now if you have negative gravity on lava/magma also see a lot of water crash into a planet at once. Could the force of steam rising up make it possible that it doesn’t reach the code?
The water ocean above the lava and below the ice reminded me of Europa, Jupiter's moon, where it's believed to be an ocean below the ice crust, warmed by geothermal activity, which is caused by tidal forces of Jupiter. It's a shame that you can't move gravity nodes yet, but can you try to simulate that next time?
Straight away can see plate tectonics start (even very simplistically) with a destructive and constructive zones, and accretionary wedges. I wonder, is there a way to turn down the amount that rock turns into sand under friction? Less sand would look better, I thnk.
not going to see this but you should make water meteor hit a planet because it would be interesting to see how the presser of the water heats up and turns into vaper making more presser :D (Love your videos, been watching since the powered dam video in
Nice Video BUT... It always sems like the planet is a formed around a gravity point floting above a plane with own gravity... why is the heat of the core convecting upwarts? It should convect from the center to all sides. Why is hot material floating up and cool stuff down? It seems like you play in a flat earth environment with the sky in the top and ground in the bottom. 🤔 that mabe why the planet cools more on top, when you reduce surrounding heat.
Ive noticed you complaining about how it can be frozen in one spot and burning in another spot, could it be that you have a setting for heat diffusion to low?
Do something different. You have 20 videos of you doing basically the same situation with very little Variations. As much as I like simulation simulator I'd like to see something different. We know u can make a volcano planet and have astroids hit it. The galaxy sim was a nice surprise. Come on man use some creativity. There's a million things u could do but u keep doing the same. I'm not gonna do ur job and tell u what to do but I'm just suggesting a different approach. U might be surprised by the reaction u get. Just saying. GL
also, to make Planet cooldown faster you shoult set not ontly Sky.temph, Sky.temp0, but also higher Sky.tcondh, Sky.tcond0 to make temperature conduction between Sky and particles faster (and make it cooldown faster if Sky.temp0h is low enough
very nice of the planet to show us a heart before getting obliterated by a metal asteroid for valentines day

Can wait for the next update i wish a had a computer
Just what the game was missing to be perfect.
*@Spike Viper*
eg. 7:00 Please increase the "universe temperature" to be +1*C so the ice disappears and the oceans can REALLY start flowing :D
+1*c
mean 0+1=1
more than 1 °c
Just for those slow ones here:
The + in this case means that it is +1*C and not -1*C, but it can also be interpreted as: "At least" +1*C
But space aint +1°C lol

I love playing this game in my free time. There’s always something cool to do
When the huge chunk of metal hit the planet and lava went everywhere, there was that one glacier that just ran away from it and it actually got pretty far😂
lol
Maybe plant meteors could be helpful? Hitting the ocean they could basically form artificial islands on the surface.
Good idea
I think increasing stone and metal stickiness would create mountains 😅
You should add an atmosphere to the planet and an outside heat source (like a sun) and see what happens
I wan you to make a MASSIVE planet with the feature of the core being heated by friction, then throw a small but fast asteroid at it and see what happens (when I say fast I mean like enough speed to out run a bullet)
Yes 🎉🎉
The only missing thing is the natural forming of earth element
What element?

@@Marramdar earth comes from meteor

Awesome update. This game has a bright future.
spike, would it be possible to make a solar system or anything to do with orbits?
I think that would be better left to his SpaceSim content

you should probably make it so it automatically appears once conditions are right in the ocean
but yea genius update
You should do another giant simulation now, you'd probably get some really good results with this update.
Fill asteroid with boom boom stuff and make planet go boom
Nice update love the content:)
I‘m really happy to have stumbled across this channel!
I love how it’s always the sharpest point of the celestial body that hits
H is the height where the heating happens
It's very useful for those planet simulations

It would be nice if there was a way to set up orbiting heat and gravity sources to simulate the "kneading" of a central star and a satellite/s
i cant wait for the technology stuff they have planed
I’ll help the pause thing = space
You can create plants by covering dirt with water, and adding a sun above it and overtime it will grow
like real life
What if there was a live stream of this game just running a massive simulation
so we can now have actual tectonics
Plant + sun + heat = grow
But, idk how it naturally grows, maybe dirt water and sun?
It'd be super cool if you could pull off tidal heating like Enceladus or something
Spike is underrated
use node gravity with this and you get a 100% realistic planet
They finally added the pause button!
Make it natutally form!
SST ADDED A PAUSE BUTTON (space bar)
I would like to see something to do with the life update
Please create a tutorial on how to create dynamic planets with tectonic plates.
Do a Venus Planet Formation
can i ask why a planet is nearly a bubblegum. and has NO hard crust!?
I would like to see what happens now if you have negative gravity on lava/magma also see a lot of water crash into a planet at once. Could the force of steam rising up make it possible that it doesn’t reach the code?
Could you do another galaxy forming simulation but with like metal, stone and water to get multiple smaller planets?
