This feels less like planet formation and more like star formation. Especially when you see this part 18:09 So much volatile motion on the surface AND in the core, so that all it took was a minor collision to make it explode. Reminds me of a star. They're in such a delicate balance.
18:10 i think what happend here is the shockwave from the impact destabilized the core which was already HIGHLY pressurized causing a small explosion, but the REAL damage was after the implosion
omg the explosions are like supernovae! the physics are a little different but once the pressure inside gets too high it explodes and throws enough matter out to restart formation!
it's crazy how 3d these shapes can look sometimes, especially during collisions. it's like it tricks your brain with the amazing physics to think that it's 3d.
@@kacperxt371 oh but uh.. it uses a custom game engine and stuff so modding would be WAY harder (learning a whole new coding laguage since it runs off gpu not standard code) and a lot of other stuff (there might be a ingame moding system i cant remember)
That planet had a unstable core and because the blue planet hit the unstable core it supernova and fast particals hit the purple planet and destroyed it
If some escapes, then the gravity gets weaker and more escapes leading to the planet exploding. I think he needs to make a planet hit the other one really fast and at an angle, so that only a small part of the matter gets the necessary speed to reach a stable orbit
in order to get something to orbit you need to throw it sideways hard like that but then also apply a force near the height of its trajectory. If you didn't do that then it would just go smash back into the ground
My theory for what resulted in the event at 18:12 being so violent was how hard strong the pressure was in the core. The core appeared to be trying to escape due to the forces of the shockwaves (explosions) but the shockwaves also forced them together (implosions). Finally, when the shockwaves got disrupted, the "stability" of the highly unstable core was broken and the core was allowed to move outwards, allowing it to rapidly expand and explode. Looks like something similar happened at 18:17
18:09 looks like a sun about to go supernova because it could not hold out against internal force. Of course we didn't see it but it would have been interesting
You can get some pretty silly effects if you set the friction value in the cosmos settings to something slightly lower than -1 (-1.01 for instance). It causes particles to continually speed up as opposed to being slowed down.
22:55 the biggest planet: my core is unstable.*Explodes* That near Orange planet which is about to get obliterated: I'm screwed. The other planet: don't mention me mines unstable too.
I wish there was a you tube channel that just did this. Just simulated this over and over. Watching all of the Collisions, and build up. I would watch it.
The explosions are a byproduct of having such a high maximum collision speed, if you set that lower, there will be no more explosions, at the cost of having a lower "speed of light"
Btw if you still have gravity as a cubic function, just know that a quadratic function is the ONLY FUNCTION that can support stable orbits if you want things like moons
At about 14:30, the first star of the sim formed and it has matured at around 18:00. It's mainly powered by quantum tunneling instead of conventional nuclear fusion because of the sim
i think turning the max gravitational velocity up caused the max size thing as you turned that up to max( a bit after you separated everything from each other with the spin)
i like it cus these exploding big objets are just very old stars just like in real life old stars are exploding and new ones are rising from their materlias and gases and dust and stuff
This looks super cool. My assumption for the behavior of the 'planets' would be that, based on the view that we had there's a sort of reverberation in the body when a collision occurs (I think it acts as some sort of momentum multiplier for particles), and I am guessing that interaction with the "damping" mechanic (maybe you have damping turned down?) in the sim causes there to be a point where the 'planet' as you said is no longer stable... I am obviously no scientist but this had me thinking/wondering. I am interested on other's thoughts.

18:12 impact creates shockwave 18:13 motion causes outer layer to become unstable, provoking the huge monster core. 18:14 material tries to recollect. 18:15 material recollects so violently it creates a secondary explosion, ripping apart the planet
the universe is expanding exponentially. everything around us is expanding faster and faster away from everything else. There will be a point where no matter how fast we travel, the universe around us is expanding faster, so we wont be able to reach other galaxies
6:12 these formations actually were caused by you. At the start you rotated the inner material a second time which increased it's speed and caused it to impact the slower outer material. you can already see the start of the formation of this ring of overdenisty just after you do it.
