Cat makes best in class diesel generators but not a fan of any large nature gas gen sets. At the large hospital that I retired from we had three 2,000 KW CAT Diesel Gen sets that ran great ( 1800 RPM ). We had four natural gas CAT POS 2 760 KW Gen sets that even after major overhaul they had trouble running 650 to 700 KW of load banks especially during the summer. They both were same size & 16 cylinders but the natural gas only ran at 1,200 RPM due to they ran them in hot days to leak shave power. Had a CAT PIG POS 1,000 KW natural gas gen set in a high rise office building that would never shut down after monthly halve hour ATS testing. Told us the load was not high enough so it needs a load bank for it. ( YEP sounds like a BS story ).
When charges The resistors banks,Is a drop in rpn AND of course, frequency too. If the resistor banks are Huge, like 500 kilowatts or more the engine cant stay stable,because the load Is present in microseconds,so the drop Is present until rpm control systems actívate quickly for stay the frequency constant,AND voltage output too
I become chargeman with A4 skill and convert to B4 and PJ8 skill before 😝😝😝 same with this machine CAT brand high voltage.... one time i forget wear saftey glove the electric leak hit my screw 🪛 throw away like being kicked by horse 🐎😅 that only my experience before and by hand bump with dark blood inside.. not funny at all😑😑😐
