      Oh yeah!! Beautifully done. I've never tried to master that because I usually stick it in my gob, but I should attempt it again I think. George already had his post-Beatles Strat sound by this point, especially with the slide. I'm not sure that he ever played slide in the Beatles.

      @@anthonybenavides720 Oh yeah, it's slide on that, I either forgot or hadn't noticed. I imagine it was George, but it doesn't sound as slick as his later slide playing. I'm sure that his sitar playing in the intervening years helped. Apparently Nal Evans bought the two sonic blue Strats for Lennon and Harrison in February 1965, but not sure if he used his - soon to be christened Rocky - on Drive My Car, or maybe something else.

    • @Kpengie
      @Kpengie 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I don't think so. By that point, the Strat George used on Nowhere Man had been painted all sorts of bright colors (As seen in the Magical Mystery Tour movie). Unless George is for some reason using John's Stratocaster from the same time period, this is a different Strat George bought later on.

    • @louisnewton4292
      @louisnewton4292 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Kpengie VERY good point! My mistake. I did see a documentary last year about the making of the album, and some of the sessions were at Lennon's house. They both bought sonic blue strats, so maybe it's possible that George borrowed John's for the session? And considering the fact that they both played strats on Nowhere Man, I guess I'm still right! Just got the ownership confused haha.

      @@louisnewton4292 Either he borrowed John's or he got a second identical sonic blue Strat.
      I know George didn't restore the original paint job of his at least, due to it still having its dayglo paint job to this day (As evidenced by this 2017 or so photo of Mark Hamill holding it: pbs.twimg.com/media/D0SAVikVsAA3mkd?format=jpg&name=900x900 ).

George turned his into the famous Rocky and is still blue on the back…the other one that John had was also Blue…Now I wonder if that is the other Strat in question?
