Was that picture taken at a South African Antarctic research station? That tricolor flying from a steel pole in the background really complements that cute penguin in the foreground.
I would have liked someone to be better at Afrikaans to teach them the proper accent. They can sing French, Italian, Japanese, so why could someone not get Afrikaans right. Even so, this was "wow" and "unexpected".

I speak Afrikaans but I have sung in more than 10 languages. In each case I had to study the points of accents in words and of course the correct pronunciation. This can be taught to any choir. If the vocalists can study sounds and mysic perfectly and are hailed one of the "best" choirs singing properly in any language should not be a problem when they are taught to sing in so many languages
That would depend solely on whether they grow a back bone and dont sit around like now hoping God will save them. Think back to times of war, we acted, we didnt sit around letting corruption spread and idiots dictate our lives and destroy and sully our culture. Instead today i see many stoop to the same levels of those who hate us. With how things go now, in a few hundred years this culture would probably have melted away and mixed into others as people flee to greener pastures, due to the lack of acting by our own. Many of those who fought and died for this land would become forgotten, their graves even now sink into the ground, unattended, their honor gone, ive seen them, Boer and British soldier alike. Makes you question, is our pride real, or just an illusion we cling to remind us of times we will never have again, because we failed. It depends on what we do now.

Well Afrikaans is a Germanic language, maybe they thought the German accent would be close enough? Still sounds very different though
'n Nederlands koor was beter geweest. Afrikaans is net Nederlands.
