I prefer to see them do videos separately on their own now. A lot of their later videos they’ve been a tad passive aggressive towards each other which makes the vid feel really awkward at times 😂😅
As someone that has put about 7k miles on his 2021 BMW M4 competition I’ll say that this is the perfect daily driver. Big trunk, seats 4 comfortably, and lightning fast. Also for something that was dynoed over 515 hp to the wheels, it gets amazing gas mileage. In efficient mode for a road trip I got 29mpg.

The M340i is probably still better as a daily driver and this would be better without these big seats, but the new M3 has definitely improved and because it’s bigger there’s more space than ever. In fact I found the G20 has as much space in the rear seats as my old V8 Holden Commodores which were big RWD, Large sedans that were the size of a 5 Series.
I mean what else would you use it for? It's a 3 series with some go fast parts. If you wanted a dedicated sports car, get a vehicle that was designer from the ground up as a sports car, not a car that seats 5.

To me BMW 3 Series have always been intended as daily drivers for enthusiasts. I daily drive an M340i currently and I’ve also owned M3s. Of course I’m tempted by the M3, but truth is the M340i is more than enough for almost any situation and the 330i MSport would be a great daily. ✌️
Have all all kinds of M's and i agree 340/440 is more than enough fun and is overall more comfy and better daily. Only problem is unless you go down the route of individual you cant get that nice soft leather. Then again the trade off is the standard leather is alot more durable.
I agree with all this. But I will say the experience between M and non-M is so much bigger than the headline performance stats suggest. I’ve shared this story in other threads but, having graduated from an F32 440i to an F82 M4, I also test drove a G20 M340i for an afternoon. The M340i was lovely but, fundamentally much quieter and softer than the M. Jumping back into my M4 to drive home from the dealership, I actually burst out laughing at how raucous it was in comparison. The brakes are much sharper, the steering more taught & sensitive and the throttle response / acceleration is considerably more powerful at higher speeds. Cabin noise and road feel are much greater in the M too and that is not always a good thing, especially in a daily but it was a compromise I was happy with. It’s no criticism of the non-M, but the experiences are night & day. I have since test driven the G82 M4 Comp and it was way more accomplished than my F82. But it was also way too much money for my liking so I am sitting tight on my next big purchase. The performance in these cars now is insane for a road vehicle.

When they crack the ECU this car is going to be a beast. BK Performance in Germany got 757hp and 943nm out of the X3M Comp. with just a downpipe, intercooler and a tune. So the new M3 comp. with Xdrive with the same amount of power, will probably be able to pull a 2.8-3 sec 0-60/0-100. Can't wait

Great video! I have a 2017 DCT F80 M3 that is my daily. I luv it! For me it is the perfect combination of performance and practicality. Whether it’s my commute to work or a spirited drive on the weekend, It makes me feel special every time I get behind the wheel.
Hmm personally I felt the F80 was a step backwards, because the original stock standard F30 when released in 2012 without adaptive suspension was way too soft for a BMW and it didn’t feel sporty and it affected the handling compared to the E90. The G20 at the base of it is back to the sporty BMW driving feel.
@@marnuscoreyempanadaslooseb6760 being my first M car or BMW for that matter, I have no prior comparison. Also my M3 is not stock. Suspension wise it has the M-Performance HAS combined with DINAN sway bars & end links and GC camber plates. Also DINAN CF intakes, heat exchanger, and Stage 3 tune exiting out of the M-Performance titanium cat back exhaust. All that combines for a claimed 550hp (I have not dyno’d to confirm) which makes for a very fun and potent daily. And I can still fit the car seat in the back along with a trunk full of groceries🙌🏻
I like this different format. Please consider having different format vids in your stream to break up the content. Good work i am a long time viewer (2-3 yrs) and the change keeps it fresh
Just ordered an M3 Comp (RWD). Thank you for this video. It really helped to alleviate my fears that this car would not be good for daily driving. I made sure to get the regular sport seats and the Driving Assistance Pro package (which has the traffic jam assist and radar cruise), so that eliminates the 2 deal breakers you pointed out. Thank you!
The Driving Assistance Pro package is amazing and even when you're going too fast to use the traffic jam assist, it makes highway driving so much easier and less fatiguing. I drove mine 8 hours in one day and it felt like I did half that.

You did great with this Yuri! Love the insight into daily drives. I’ll be honest, I’m still not entirely over the grill. I still think the G80/G82 would benefit from the F92 M8’s front-end styling. That being said, a G80 M3 in Brooklyn Grey Metallic (with Vorsteiner’s GT3-style carbon grills) has slowly become a dream car of mine and I am definitely excited for the upcoming CSL models! Hopefully you and Jakub get your hands on those when they become available!
Ok, so, I have a 22 M4 Comp, and I didnt know half the things you covered in this video. I ordered everything except the carbon buckets, for my car. I included the CCBs, and the M Drivers to bump the top speed to 180mph or 296km/h. Great video, Yuri. Thank you.
@@youmongrel Just recently I traded in my 2011 BMW 323i E90 LCI for a 2016 BMW 420D. I had owned the E90 since November 2012 when it was 1 year old. In all my 9 years of ownership I never had a single problem with the car. The only thing that went on it was a computer that BMW replaced for free and that was only because I had bricked it. It was easily the most reliable car I’ve ever owned in all my 35+ years of car ownership. If you take good care of them and have them serviced by BMW or people that know what they’re doing they’ll run for 250,000km before a thing goes wrong with them. Maybe I got lucky as the 323i was considered one of the most reliable BMWs and because I always take as much care with my cars as possible, but this new 420D I’ve just bought has 78,000km on it and from what I can see there has never been an issue with the car and nothing has ever broken on it. It also looks to be in near perfect condition.
@youmongrel News flash....its called warranty. Anyone keeping this car past base warranty buys an extended warranty. FYI every new car comes with a base warranty.
Since I discovered this car (M3CxDrive), I can't go a day without thinking about owning it. I must get this car. I'm going to see one at the local BMW and this is the best review I've seen about this car.
Great review guys, agree love the longer term test. You really did a great job describing what it would be like to own the car. Makes me want this car (cool features, on par with the M5 comp) and my F80 with manual, ugh heh. Completely with you, on the arming the car with just a nice beep and the auto arming when you walk away from the car. I have that on with my X5. The ones with the horns are annoying especially those people who keep clicking the fob 100 times ;) Other reviews say to get the normal seats as well, unless you don’t plan on driving the car too often. Also, kudos BMW for having more exterior and interior colors. Definitely a car you’d be proud to own.
@@ACURACALABAR11 I'm sure it is and that's great, but an average car enthusiast could not afford something like that. Not even close, so talking about this model and suggesting it's a "daily driver" is rather disingenuous.
@Mr.1337 Of course you can. If I wasn't also involved in motorcycles and mountain bikes I might do that as well. Not the BMW, but an Alfa Giulia Quadrifoglio. I've been riding/racing high performance motorcycles (sportbikes) for decades. I've found that as alluring as they are, they are way overkill for the street. Great for a quick ride down curvy roads and not so good for daily jaunts, but you're probably way younger than me and don't see it that way.
This was really good! I thoroughly enjoyed it and you went into far more detail than most reviewers. The format was also spot on and it was engaging throughout. Please do more of these!
Well that’s your opinion and I think everyone agrees it would look better with the normal grilles, but it’s not hideous in my opinion and I think more and more people are starting to agree with me. One thing I know for sure is that BMW definitely can put the normal grille on it. I remember seeing M3 spy shots and they had the normal kidney. Honestly if I had the money I’m not sure if I would get the M3 over the M340i as the gap is closing more and more between them and the 40i is probably more useable in real world driving.
@@marnuscoreyempanadaslooseb6760 I think that depends on if you want the real deal M car or the M Sport package. To me if the pricing isn't that much different I'm going true M car all day.
That is true, but this grille isn’t ugly. It fits the car. This car is meant to be like the E90 M3. Aggressive and a bit of a muscle car, but still has those classic BMW driving dynamics. Yes it’s grown and it’s not the go kart that the E90 was, but having technology and the adaptive suspension and dampers makes this M3 even better.
I Spec’d mine w the following: - Manual Transmission, RWD - Portimao Blue - M Double Spoke Bi-Color 19/20” wheels - Fjord Blue Leather - Carbon Interior Trim - Exec. Package - Ventilated Front Seats - Shadowline lights - Extended Shadowline Trim - Icon Adaptive LED / Laser Headlights - Red Brake Calipers - 50th Anniversary M Badges Total Build: $76,100 USD. This is the exact build I would do no matter what, the extra gizmos like carbon ceramic brakes don’t interest me. Carbon exterior would be cool, but isn’t worth the $4,700. This will be my daily. My build date is slated for mid-April… Can’t wait!
2020 is the decade of the BMW. I can't see anyone coming close to the advancements BMW has made in recent years. It truly feels like they figured everything out and made sure it happens.
Great review guys! Waiting on mine for about 7 months now 😤 BMW AG has been atrocious at communicating why it's sitting at Bremerhaven port in Germany. I'm hearing about others ordered and delivered well after I placed my order in June 2021. Was the one you reviewed a press car?
Great video! FYI, for the Tesla model 3 performance, with track mode, you can have it RWD or FWD only, or you can adjust by %, fully adjustable and configurable with Track mode
I think it looks good in the M since it's all black and you hardly see it. But I hate it so much on the base 3/4series models. And having to have a plate makes it worse.
@@Daniel-dj7fh The base 3 series doesn’t have it, but yes I agree with you it looks better due to the black and if it really worries you just get it with a dark colour. Also the big grille fits the car I think. BMW have tried to make the new M3 like an updated version of the E90 M3 which was an aggressive car.

I have an M4 x drive coming in soon, it is at the port. Can’t wait to have the same feelings you’re feeling. The s58 is mental.
@@TheBkRandyy congrats! That’s exciting. I’m sure you’re gonna love the car. For the price point there’s nothing that packages everything together better than this car, the technology and parking assistance cameras and self parking and everything make this car such a lovely daily
@@Jay-oj1jj Agreed and looking forward to it! Thanks and cheers to many more miles
I'm looking to put an order in for a G80 next weekend.... hopefully
Definitely like the daily driving video. Also, it looks like the video production quality is better. Well done!
Appreciate the attention to detail. The BMW taking up 4 spaces is spot on!
The auto parking feature does it by default! BMW knows their target market.
The 4K footage is looking extra crisp in this one. Good video idea! Keep it up!
P.S. The grille is still offensive to the senses.
Thank you!
Congrats on you your buy. May I know which color you opted for.
@@pshaswat black with the silverstone interior
The Driving Assistance Pro package is amazing and even when you're going too fast to use the traffic jam assist, it makes highway driving so much easier and less fatiguing. I drove mine 8 hours in one day and it felt like I did half that.
What I LOVEEEE these “Daily drive” videos pleaseeee do more!!!!
What car do you want to see us DAILY DRIVE next? Ferrari Enzo? Mitsubishi Mirage? HUMMER EV? Nothing is off the table!
Www.Tsp.Truecar.com if you’re looking for a new car!
Why not a hummer ev very excited for it . Btw first
Definitely an electric vehicle! Maybe a Bolt or Ioniq 5
Cayman gts 4.0
Can you daily drive a Lamborghini Urus?
Mirrage
You did great with this Yuri! Love the insight into daily drives.
I’ll be honest, I’m still not entirely over the grill. I still think the G80/G82 would benefit from the F92 M8’s front-end styling. That being said, a G80 M3 in Brooklyn Grey Metallic (with Vorsteiner’s GT3-style carbon grills) has slowly become a dream car of mine and I am definitely excited for the upcoming CSL models! Hopefully you and Jakub get your hands on those when they become available!
Whenever I think of watching M3 I replay this video 🤞🤞
New format? Great format.
hell yeah!
Ok, so, I have a 22 M4 Comp, and I didnt know half the things you covered in this video. I ordered everything except the carbon buckets, for my car. I included the CCBs, and the M Drivers to bump the top speed to 180mph or 296km/h. Great video, Yuri. Thank you.
Honestly the best car I've ever owned. Not bad for my first BMW 🤘
damn how rich are you if its your first bmw😭
@@afarrel3195 he’s rich because he hasn’t had to fix a BMW yet 😄
@@youmongrel Bro BMW is not in 2012 anymore... these m3s take tuning to fail within 5-6 yrs
@youmongrel News flash....its called warranty. Anyone keeping this car past base warranty buys an extended warranty. FYI every new car comes with a base warranty.
Really nice video, like the length, content, tone of voice, everything! Looking forward to more videos like this!
Can't wait to see more videos of this style!
I’m loving this format! I sell BMWs for a living and you nailed the tech/features.
Bmw nailed the exhausts for daily cars..!
Since I discovered this car (M3CxDrive), I can't go a day without thinking about owning it. I must get this car. I'm going to see one at the local BMW and this is the best review I've seen about this car.
Yes! You used the US configurator! It is much better than the others.
I like this new approach to car review! Sometimes we cannot test all these features during the short test drive! Thanks!
Stoked for the STI video, I’ve always wanted one.
Yes. Now I want one too 😈
I like a lot of the new graphic choices like the tire choice background, keep it up!
I love the crazy colors. In my area, dealers make it hard to order them.
This video is sick! Loving this format.
I hope you keep doing videos like this. This one was very detailed and covered things most reviews don't. Good job on it.
5:43 I thought that reverse assist was a really clever feature, haven't heard of it before this.
As a 5.0 V8 F-Type driver, I'll *never* be ready to go electric!
Love the daily drive emphasis!
How many would spend this kind of money on a car and use it as a daily driver? Cars like this are expensive toys.
@@rlsedition my m5 is my daily
@@rlsedition I can see people buying this as a do it all car for daily use. A four door,, all wheel drive car is not really a "toy" car for fun only.
As a owner of 21 STI I’m hyped for next vid!
Really impressive that the AWD system only adds 99lbs/45kg. The rear differential alone on my car weighs 70lbs/32kg. 😬
Love this format as an addition to the channel!
I literally was just looking at this because I was like "is this my dream car?"
Thank you guys so much for picking this car for this series!
3:20 😂
yeah same
I love this format!
Love this new format! Very practical in real world. Keep up the great work!
Another great review. Really digging your amped up creative. New stuff, staying true to The Pipes.
It’s amazing how they were able to integrate a car into that grill - a true feat of engineering.
This was really good! I thoroughly enjoyed it and you went into far more detail than most reviewers. The format was also spot on and it was engaging throughout. Please do more of these!
No Yuri, still not used to the hideous grill and never will be. It's a deal breaker for me.
I’d never buy anything with that grill on. The design is trash.
I love this grill & im buying one
@@Takeiteasy11 same I think it looks so sick and aggressive
This is another great way of reviewing
I love the dynamism here
Keep it up people
I love this car, but I think the M340I grill still looks better.
I Spec’d mine w the following:
- Manual Transmission, RWD
- Portimao Blue
- M Double Spoke Bi-Color 19/20” wheels
- Fjord Blue Leather
- Carbon Interior Trim
- Exec. Package
- Ventilated Front Seats
- Shadowline lights
- Extended Shadowline Trim
- Icon Adaptive LED / Laser Headlights
- Red Brake Calipers
- 50th Anniversary M Badges
Total Build: $76,100 USD. This is the exact build I would do no matter what, the extra gizmos like carbon ceramic brakes don’t interest me. Carbon exterior would be cool, but isn’t worth the $4,700. This will be my daily. My build date is slated for mid-April… Can’t wait!
Great job! Really enjoyed this style of review!
I love this new style of filming it reviewing with a daily driver in mind! 👍
I think the M3's competition is it's own sibling, the M340i.
By far the best car review channel. Keep up the great work!
2020 is the decade of the BMW. I can't see anyone coming close to the advancements BMW has made in recent years. It truly feels like they figured everything out and made sure it happens.
This format and review style is great!! Great job Yuri!!
Did u buy the carboon seats?
@@cazantrabant519 No - while I love the look of the CF seats I love the ventilation feature of the regular ones.
@@Kimchiguy79 i heard manyn guys who bought this car are waiting more time cuz of the seats. I guess it was a bad luck for u
@@cazantrabant519 It's all because of a stop delivery from Receiver Audio Module.
Love these new Daily Driving series!
Great video! FYI, for the Tesla model 3 performance, with track mode, you can have it RWD or FWD only, or you can adjust by %, fully adjustable and configurable with Track mode
Love this type of review. Need more of these
The only thing I would change is the front fascia and the seats , I can’t get used to the beaver teeth grille 😄 otherwise it’s a good car
Like it how you talk about everything in such a short time :)
Favorite part about dailying this M3: with just ethanol and a tune, you can smoke any bolt on Gtr you find on the street 😎
More videos in this format please! Soo much fun watching and very informative. Glad I subbed!
