    The most disturbing part of this is the fact her grandmother threw her mother out on the street at 13 for getting pregnant instead of going after the person who got her pregnant🙁 a child

      I hope that grandma rots straight to hell. I'm honestly pissed she didn't get in jail for that, because how can you get away throwing your OWN child on the street? She literally started the cycle...

      That's because she's one of those people you can tell she never had anyone to ever ask her "how was your day?"
      "Tell me about yourself."
      "What was your life like?"
      She's never had anyone actually just sit down and talk to her , CARE about her or what she has to say or what she thinks. It's very sad. Especially because just having THAT , someone who wants to listen , is so SO healing and cathartic.
      I love listening to people...I wish I had known her so I could be that for her ....

    The way she just goes on and on about her story without him asking hardly anything, first of all, my favorite kinds of interviews because they just say what's on their mind as it comes to them. Second, you can tell she hasn't really had anyone to talk to about these traumatizing life events. You can tell she's been wanting to get this off her chest for a very, very, very long time and this platform gives her and everyone else who's on here that space to finally do it.

      @londonwerewolf7542 3 ปีที่แล้ว +109

      Perhaps, but that seems like a wide assumption. After experiencing trauma, many people just want to feel heard. Plus, recounting trauma also creates a cycle of reliving it, so it feels fresh each time. Which is probably why it seems like she’s never talked about this before. Because she’s reliving all of this horrible stuff when she talks about, and it’s as fresh as the first time she shared it. But, who knows.

      I personally think the penalty/charge for a family member abusing the child should be much, much higher then it is. It's one thing when an absolute stranger does this sort of evil, but when it's someone who is responsible for your care and you are beholden to them to care for you..? At their mercy? Yeah, that's a special kind of evil that needs to be flushed out, punished harder. It should be something that someone is absolutely terrified to do, because if the did...? The penalty would be so terrifying, it would give them pause from ever having done it to begin with.
      Right now, because society is so apathetic when it comes to the welfare of children, families with generational abuse running through them can continue to exist. If society started caring, and backed that up with a real punishment....? I think some change would happen.
      A lot of people think that morality comes easy, that making the moral choice is just a natural and easy thing to do for everyone. They're wrong. Most people operate on a frequency where, they require actual threat or benefit to be motivated to do something. They won't do anything unless you give them incentive, and they won't stop what they're doing unless they're actually afraid of the consequences.

      Vibrant clear memories that you can explain in great detail like it was yesterday, when it was really years ago, is trauma. You remember and see it and feel it, like it has just happened , everyday. It's like it imprints in your mind photographically. Normal happy memories, you store away neatly in a cupboard in your memory and can close the door on it, draw it out when you want, but in time, you do loose details and it fades ,you recall on it but it's hazy many years later. Trauma. Different story. It sits at the front of your mind clear as day and it doesn't fade.

      The fact that she had the potential to be a high achieving student if she was born into a standard middle class family is tragic. She liked school and actually sacrificed time and energy to continue going to school while all this was happening. It’s pretty rare to find that type of love for academics in all socioeconomic classes, much less from someone with her background.

I have lost most of my memories from age 21 and below, and have poor memory in general. My sister experienced similar traumas in our childhood home and has an excellent memory. Babygirl, I swear it can. She’s so intelligent, headstrong and a top tier business woman. Sending love and light that she will get sober and remain sober, because she’s definitely capable of it, and that she heals from the trauma she’s embraced over the 27 years she’s been in the universe. I PROMISE, IT DO GET BETTER THAN WHERE YOU ARE.

    Sabrina sounds like she’s told her story many times. I sound the same when doing an intake with a new therapist. We have told our trauma so many times that it’s a story. Unfortunately, the things that happened to us made us feel less than and we keep telling ourselves that we are less than. After 10+ years I’ve found a form of EMDR therapy that is working to heal those past traumas - actually turning them into “just” a story, with no feeling attached. “Just” a memory, that in turn changes the misconceptions that I have about myself from that past experience. It’s amazing to finally feel like there is some sort of healing. On the outside, I’m a strong, successful woman, and I am starting to see that - little glimpses. I hope if you’ve read this far, and you relate to my situation in some way, that you keep working on yourself because once you find that thing that works for you, it’s amazing how much different you feel when there’s a little hope for your mental health.

Please try to do good now w all this trauma u could be a great therapist/MICD Counselor. I will pray for u!!! Ur Indigenous and u have a different way of life that was taken from our families. Try to find out what was or is your traditional ways. It will help u. There's a lot of people out here that needs to hear your story and that will help u.
      But of course she will have to do the work and stop w the pimping & pandering. There's a better life for her if she can really get the help she needs.
