0:45 - Sharp gets emotional while introducing Mark
1:26 - Mark explains how his background in photography led to doing Soft White Underbelly (SWU)
2:07 - First step toward SWU was a book of portraits of random people across the country called “Created Equal”
3:53 - Walking away from making a lot of money in advertising to do SWU
4:48 - Buying a studio in the middle of Skid Row to take portraits of homeless people
5:24 - Finding his calling after doing his first interview with a heroin addict name Caroline
6:55 - Not revealing how much he pays interview subjects for their interviews
7:50 - Mark has never done any drugs, barely even drinks.
8:44 - Being fascinated with the human struggle. Interview subjects are extreme cases.
9:15 - Paying it forward to others as a thank you to his parents. Dealing with the loss of his mom *EMOTIONAL MOMENT*. SWU is a way to show the importance of parenting
11:47 - Kids know when something is wrong. Being open with his kids about divorce
13:25 - The possibility of working it out with his ex-wife
15:22 - Being single and having feelings for some of the people he interviews
16:26 - Mark tells the story of being particularly captivated by one interview subject until she ghosted him
20:18 - Sharing the most important lesson he learned from ‘Course of Miracles’: everything is an act of love or fear
21:26 - Trying to pinpoint what about this one girl that captivated him so much
22:22 - Craziest interview Mark ever did was with James the r*pist, who r*ped his mom, killed a prostitute, and later killed sex offenders on Skid Row
25:35 - Sharp is one of the most popular people on SWU
26:05 - One of the craziest videos on SWU is the Whittakers, inbred family in West Virginia. Being confronted with a shotgun.
31:25 - The Whittakers’ parents were either cousins or siblings. Plus environmental effect from coal
33:10 - Interacting with Ray, the Whittaker brother who barks like a dog
34:24 - Explaining issues with interview subject Exotic after her interview blew up.
38:33 - Exotic had two pimps names tattooed on her face.
39:30 - Mark says Sharp is doing a great job at redefining what it means to be a pimp
40:33 - Mark confirms that Sharp asked him to take his SWU video down. Sharp is forever grateful and wants to have Mark around more
41:21 - Why Mark had to end up cutting Exotic off.
42:46 - Finding out he was being hustled by finding a bunch of s*x toys in Exotic’s apartment
45:51 - Mark paid Exotic and her pimp a lot of money to do a SWU interview about how they hustled him
46:30 - People in certain parts of the country won’t accept money for their interviews
47:38 - The people in Appalachia are the happiest people Mark’s ever met
48:48 - It takes a lot of courage to do an interview on SWU
49:15 - The Whittakers understand that Mark’s videos have made them famous. Going back to shoot another video

Daaaamn that's crazy that Sharp wanted his first video with Mark to be taken down days after it dropped and Mark convinced him not to, and then sharp saying "You were fucking right". Those interviews that Mark did with Sharp inspired me a lot in my character and the way I dress and it made me watch the church on a sunday show with Sharp because it's motivational, inspirational and it's all about spreading mental health. It's crazy that a video that Sharp didn't really wanted because he felt regret and even offered to payback for it to be taken down, took him to his evolution where now he is inspiring a lot of people out here such as myself with these topics about bettering yourself and being a motivation to your peers. Mark and Sharp did something legendary with those videos, they inspired a lot of people across the globe. and Yes as different as it sounds, Sharp's philosophy inspired me to always keep my house clean and have discipline in myself.

That jit will carry your legacy. Not taking care of your jit will reflect your life as a miserable failure that will be outshined by your progenitors and future generations, so we all ought to provide the fundamental basis for our kids to actually have the opportunities in life within their reach so we can enable them to find success in whatever path of life they chose. Parents are there to support. I have 0 respect for deadbeat fathers or mothers, they POS in my eyes.

      @@GpOg-j3v yeah I tend to agree;
Doesn't really matter what else you achieve in your life
if you fail as a parent you fail at life 🤷.
But at the same time I think most people are doing the best they can with what they know.
Only thing is, sometimes your best isn't good enough 🤷.
It's hard enough to break the cycle when you have all the intention in the world, all the desire in the world.
Imagine for people that are just doing what they know and the thought never occurred to them to do something better.
I think a lot of the failures are less so malicious and more so ignorance and not knowing any better

I’ve been hard on sharp when he does the yelling/screaming yet admittedly entertaining interviews …. But he truly killed it here… fantastic interviewing skills here. And now i kinda see that sharps demeanor toward the guest has everything to do with whether he respects that person. First thing I noticed he had his glasses off for this interview which is obviously a sign of respect. Anyway, I saw sharp’s heart and talent in this interview. Up until now I just saw him as a witty dude who yells a lot.

I’ve heard a lot of these types of stories, that Mark shows and Sharp lived, and think it’s so important to put out there. Some think we just wanna “have fun”, “don’t want to work”, “party too much” when it’s actually the opposite…plus most of us suffer from mental illness and/or some type of trauma.

Mark chose to incarnate through such loving, supportive parents. So that he could step into his life purpose (which he has and does it amazingly). Had he been born into struggle and pain and poverty, I don't think he would be as fascinated by the human struggle as he is. He may even have wanted to stay far away from it. And the people who need him would have missed out on him. Sometimes ... the pain or love you are born into leads you to where you're meant to go. Just don't give up on yourself ❤ you have a purpose no matter what circumstances you've been through.
