hearing the sterotypes of protistutes and watching martina's interview, this may sound crazy and self absorbant: when i was younger, my mom was a prostiute, working from 5pm-10am, leaving me and my siblings home alone, she was our main income whilst my father was in prision for five years for drug posession. i'm not angry at my mother for the choices she made when i was young, she did what she had to do survive, make sure we were good, have a roof over our heads, send us to school etc. despite knowning what my mother did from a young age, i'l never go down that road, never ever...it's not a go road to go down to...the risks of prostitution includes, getting robbed, murdered, assualted etc.

There was a time when I would have judged her and her choices. Today I realize that many people sell their souls for a pay check. They aren’t happy, hate their jobs and their mental health suffers for it so they buy things to soothe their anguish. They then have to work harder at jobs they don’t like to feed the debt they have created. I like the fact that it took her a long time to recall a time in her life when she wasn’t happy. That speaks volumes. We all make choices. At the end of the day let’s pray our choices truly make us happy and free. Grace to us all.
