    It would be helpful to know what the adapter to push on the pulley looks like up close.

    Consider changing the oil pressure sending unit at the same time, or at least the "O" ring. Great source of leaking oil

    I just drilled through the hole on the valve to let the oil “go with the flow” 😊

    Hello, I have a problem with my pump. I have a 2000 v6 mustang and I use the exact same rebuilt power steering pump that you show in the video. Now my problem is. When I try to push the pulley back on I feel no pressure. The tool itself pushes back out of the middel of the pump again and I can‘t push it back on.

      Compare the old pump to the new one. Measure the shaft size to confirm you have the right pump. Test the pulley back onto the old pump. Maybe it got damaged.

      @@chriskolar I did that already everything is fine. They pulley is just spinning and it still will not go on.

      @98RudolphXmas ok I will need a more specific answer like.
      I installed the pulley correctly and it spins.
      The pulley will not fit.
      ?

      @@chriskolar yes that‘s exactly what I meant.

      @chriskolar  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@98RudolphXmas if you installed it on the old pump and it fits and it does not fit on the new pump then the new pump is the wrong one or defective. Or the pulley got damaged and needs to be replaced.

      There is prolly air in the fluid. If there is air in it it will be noisy. Jack the car up so you can turn the steering wheel with the engine off. Do that a few times and let it sit till the air separates from the oil.

      Seems to be working fine. If you do have trashed pump it a good idea to clean out the lines.

    Would you happen to have the part number for the nylon o ring?

    • @chriskolar
      @chriskolar  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am not sure if this is the right one. Call a Ford dealer. Give the part guy your VIN #. Ask for the teflon seal for the power steering pressure hose. Once you get the part number you can cross reference to a Dorman part number.

      Did you have the whinnying noise before the new pump? How about now? I'm about to do mine because of the whine and flush it. I'm so tired of the whine noise! 🥺

    • @chriskolar
      @chriskolar  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You may need to weld a nut to it. Or remove the entire bracket. Break the pump off with a hammer or just replace the bracket with one from the wrecking yard.
