Hey man! I ordered one right after I watched this video. It arrived yesterday and I'm super happy! Fits my companion like a glove! Theres the slightest wobble in the fit, but nothing like the stock sheath. No complaints from me. Thanks for the recommendation!

Saw this online- searched for sheath mods for Mora CHD; yours came up - excellent heads up review, next best thing to holdin it in my hand. Def gonna grab one of these for my HD and I 2nd the fact that this holds a candle to blades costing 3x its price. Thanks again man!

Thanks for sharing additional options. I spent a little more for custom kydex with dangler and molle capadable option from another maker and have been extremely happy. While I spent two and half times the cost of this particular model, I am in the same belief as you are, in that the Mora is capable of doing so much its work the investment into a more capable carry option.

I might be the only one, but I find the mora sheaths to be very good for the price. Robust, light, holds the knife in securely, no dulling of the edge, blade doesn't touch the blade...
For the price yes, but if you want to carry it as your primary knife kydex is a great up grade.

Thanks for the vid. I'd like to carry my Mora horizontal on my belt and sometimes inverted attached to my backpack shoulder strap. Would the sheath work well for those carries.

I wonder if this company making the kydex will start doing them for the other models. I was hoping they would make something like this for the Mora Robust, 511 or the other models with the finger guards. Its a bummer that they dont because I would EDC a Robust.
$20 on Amazon I wish they had more colors than just black and orange. Hide & Drink make leather sheaths for Mora knives as well!!

If it is your primary knife it is a nice upgrade
I just wish it had a better belt loop. Our better yet have a hybrid sheath with a leather dangler. I like my belt knives to ride lower on my belt so I'd be willing to pay a little more for something like that.

This is helpful. If the manufacturer-provided sheath is lame, it's nice to have a cheap and good sheath option without causing the knife to become a poor value by spending big bucks on a sheath. Hopefully there's lefty sheath versions there.

I saw those sheaths for sale on Amazon the other day and was wondering about them. They didn't have any reviews so I didn't know if they were good or not. Glad I know now. Keep up the great work!

Why do people complain about the sheath?! The whole knife+sheath set costs $10! I've never had any issues with this sheath, it's virtually impossible to loose it once clamped to your belt - you will actually have a hard time trying to get it off without removing your belt and sliding it off.

Love my mora, love your review, appreciate what you're saying but.........I really rate the original, I like to clip it to the pocket of my shorts( so the sheath and blade hang outside but the clip is inside) thank you all the same I really love watching all your vids👍👍👍👍

What's wrong with the original? I really like the low profile shape of the factory sheath. While Kydex in a taco fold minimises the amount of area for riveting to only one side, it still looks overbuilt for such an efficient knife . I would like someone (maybe me!) come up with a way to complete a kydex belt sheath without the rivets. They are only good for when you want to lash a knife to something.

I dunno Aaron, I'd venture to guess the chief complaint about Moras has always been the fact that they're not full tang. I'd probably say the sheath is usually the second most common complaint.

Normally I would completely agree with you, however I have personally broken 2 Mora knives while batoning. Granted, it was during the early portion of my bushcrafting learning curve. Knowing what I know now, I'm much more careful about what I baton and how I do it. But that being said, Moras are still not a very strong knife. You need to be very careful if you are going to choose to baton them.
Find this hard to believe.... Dbk tried to break one and ended up succeeding only by jumping on the handle after hammering it into a tree. Mind you only the heavier of the two guys could do it. (170lbs. +)
I love your videos but this one falls short. You failed to mention the clip, and you didn't put it on your belt. You can do much better.

Great review, but the Armory Plastics website is difficult to navigate and poorly designed. Bladehq's is much better.
It is amazing to watch how gullible some people are...the plastic Mora sheath is "crap" but I've go another plastic sheath (we don't call it plastic, we call it Kydex) that we can sell you that will take your knife to the "next level". Don't mind that the sheath cost more than you paid for the knife...trust us, just suspend your common sense and buy it.
I have several Mora companions. I've never had any issues with the factory companion sheath. It'd be rather foolish to buy a new plastic sheath, (yes, Kydex is plastic), with it's molded plastic belt loop just to replace the factory plastic sheath which also has a molded plastic belt loop. You'd really only be purchasing that Kydex sheath just to look cool.

I just carry a 4 ft length of leather strap.
Wrap the leather strap around your kill like a purse and leave your knife in it.
Next time you pull out your knife will obviously be the next time you make a kill so your sheath should change daily.
