I am a student and I travel via BMTC daily, The busses get madly crowded and uncomfortable to stand for long hours I personally think there shld be premium busses which has a concept of no STANDING that would promote more people to use busses
The only solution is inviting less people into already crowded cities. Whatever you optimize more people means continuous development which also creates traffic. So holding all states accountable for not developing their states industrially and culture wise (e.g. women safety) is equally important as well.
You could have discussed on the choked service lanes and unfit vehicles which restrict smooth movement. Also, the licenses assigned to tech parks in the heart of the city instead of outskirts ( which is majorly politically driven )
Yes. that's a good point. Thank you for sharing. Regarding the tech parks - if you look at Bangalore like 15 or 20 years ago, some of these tech parks were actually in the outskirts. As the city grew rapidly, these parts have become integral part of the city. I think Bangalore's development has been in phases instead of a long term planning.
One thing people don't talk about is Bangalore does not have a dedicated ORR, all the traffice from Hyderabad or Chennai needs to go through the city to cross Bangalore. THIS leads to bigger traffic congestions.
ring road should be there for all cities. this is stupid when national highway goes through any city, especially a city which is already trafiic congested.
Politicians are using 10 vehicles in front and 10 vehicles back.. Govt employees using government vehicles for personal use.. If u solve this 25% is solved. One more.. no proper asphalted roads..it causes slow traffic movement.
Ever since the congress government came about with freebies for women and free bus rides for women, I shifted from BMTC to my personal bike. Because of three reasons 1. Discrimination of men. 2. Overcrowded buses. 3. High risk of being accused of sexual harassment by random woman who have no common sense that in an over crowded bus, accidental touches are impossible to contain.
Bro thats only CGST, SGST is more than enough for such problem. Plus majority northern states are farming economy and we have to subsidise farmers. Also majority of people in military are from northern states. So each state has something unique to offer to the country and shouldn't solely be judged on the basis of finance @@arvnd-jz5gd
@@arvnd-jz5gd problems is state like up is using money properly and developing very fast whereas most other states like bihar and mp are just wasting tax money by feeding it to corrupt politicians
I came to Bangalore in 1987 and in all these years I have used and still use public transport whenever possible. The basic problem with BMTC buses is their unpredictability of services. Ten or more buses on the same route will come at the same time and thereafter their won't be a single bus on the same route for the next 1 hour. I have pointed this out to several BMTC officials but nobody could give me an answer as to why the buses cannot be timed with gaps of 10-15 minutes for each run.For example on bus no 401 which has multiple routes like 401A , 401B etc right upto 401R starting from Yelahanka for 30 minutes you will find one bus after another departing all together . Thereafter for almost 40 minutes there won't be a single bus. Secondly BMTC buses suit only those commuters who travel point to point say Majestic to Jaynagar and if a change is required mid route it becomes very difficult for the commuters. We cannot increase the road space but what prevents the authorities to ensure strict lane discipline and come down heavily on traffic violators ? Hap hazard parking goes unpunished , wrong side entry on no entry roads is common , people driving on the wrong side to avoid a Uturn do so as if it's their fundamental right . All this slows down the traffic but we don't want to address this and then allow an atrocity like the Mall of Asia to block large stretches of road to be blocked by their visitors. Strict traffic management will not remove the traffic congestion but it will help in reducing it.
Last mile connection issue should resolve... Family colonies are inside and reaching from home to nearest bustop takes average 15 to 30 mins by walk... Changing the multiple buses to office commute is not a big problem if the bus freq is high. Introducing a shared auto concept from inside colonies to main road is really helpfull...this improves the last mile connectivity...Take an example of hyderabad,,
They should also consider expanding Metro or develope something like Mumbai local. In local 40-50 lakhs people travel daily and there is no problem of traffic. The working crowd is good for the economy of any state. State government should also decentralize the companies to other cities of Karnataka, it will give a chance to develope other cities too.
Thank you for sharing valid feedback. You are right, especially about the companies, they need to build massive infrastructure and if half of the business SEZs spread out from Bangalore surroundings, it will relax a bit.
@@userntavailablethe main probelm of bengaluru traffic is poor road network. Most of bengaluru depends on highways. Where in delhi or Kolkata their are alternative routes. Also delhi have best metro system and Mumbai , Kolkata both have grand local surban railway system
Congress Government sakthi scheme is also a reason for raising traffic. Overcrowded busses are making most of daily commuters to take private or other commercial transportation.
Not true I was a commuter before and after Shakthi scheme too. Government has increased fleet buying new 900 EV buses for Bengaluru it self. There is no need to misguide just for political reasons.
@@sohanreddy7116 No I am not misguiding indeed I hate freebies to people and the congress government which gave. Even I travel by bus I see most of the times buses are full its not like this before Sakthi scheme and because of this I took auto multiple times in a month its my experience
@@vanacharlasaipavankumar6331 you're TRUE. I heard it by many peoples. Many people especially youngsters never take over crowded busses due to the free scheme.
*No. Buses won't change traffic situation. Metro and Bengaluru suburban rail project would help. About Shakti Scheme, it will destroy the Government Bus Operators. People of Bengaluru is financially capable to give Bus ticket, Uber ride, Bike ride, Own car ride etc. Government could give that money (Shakti Scheme) money to build fast Metro construction.*
1. Increase in bus frequency and accuracy of tracking buses and free for all citizens. 2. Increase metro connectivity. 3. Special train to run around the Bengaluru. 4. Increase car pooling (currently ban by present government) 5. Encourage company portal to make travel buddies for car pooling.
Problem with buses is that they stuck in same traffic as cars, so most people dont have much incentive to use buses. Trains are better solution to problem as they dont get stuck in traffic. My father in Mumbai used local for his daily commute which saved almost a hour for him if he would have taken his car.
Just extend the closure timings of all offices, malls, shops etc from 10:30 to night 1:00 AM, So that major portion of the evening traffic can get diverted to late night
I do support this, Major of the Companies should start shifting to Near by major cities in and around Karnataka The Population should get distributed to Other parts of India also
Free won’t help, however a periodic shuttle services with incentivised ticket prices from key office locations to the residential area or near by metros will reduce the usage of cars. Safety of employees at later evenings (drop times) will have to be considered while increasing such public mode of transportation too.
Probable solutions - 1. On a national level diversify the tech parks. Make every capital city a major tech hub other than just Delhi Mumbai Kolkata and Chennai. This will pull away the crowd from these 4 big cities. 2. For Bengaluru, i have noticed a lot of trucks running in the city. These add to the already persistent issue of traffic. Heavy trucks shouldn’t be allowed in the city during the day. 3. The ICD can be limited with only a single vehicle per family or the odd even formula though this is a temporary solution only. Another way is to ban vehicles older than 15 years. 4. The metro work should be completed as soon as possible to reopen the chocked up lanes due to construction work. 5. Frequency of Buses and metro trains should be increased. And I really liked the public private partnership idea of yours. Could be implemented with some changes.
It is very simple to solve the bangalore traffic 1) along the elevation metro line where ever the signal or junction comes try to construct a flyover along with metro line ( only at the junction or signal point) so that 50% of the congestion will clear 2) Implement the manual mode of signalling during the peak hours atleast ie during the morning time people use to come towards majestic that time people who go out of city side traffic is very less that time because of auto traffic count down the time is getting waste 3) major and top most implementation to be done by government is speed up the suburban and metro projects so that as CSR corporate social responsibility these corporate company has to encourage their staff or order them to come by public transport instant of arranging the cab
Possible solution 1.Increase bus frequency during peak hrs and non peak hrs 2.free for all at least 1yr 3.after an year then govt can observe and plan frequency timings and routes accordingly 4.separate buses for women and men or separate compartment in every bus... 5.seat for every commuter in the bus 6.once the number of buses is doubled for the 1st few months people travelling to the offices in own cars will struggle to drive and over time they'll use cars rarely and buses regularly 7.increase petrol cost and 4w tax for individual 8.if a 4w is registered for taxi purpose give some concession with some other rules to limit the permits. 9.over time people will get accustomed to use buses again And develop other areas around Bengaluru orr
Being a bangalorean i can understand the problem. We need better metro connectivity in the city. BMTC is also helpful. In the end people need to really understand that owning a single car will solve the problem. You don’t need 2-3 cars.
Iam Amazed that no one mention's about the road quality and the infinite numbers of speed breakers, If they fix this 2 major problems then there will be no traffic for sure
BMTC Misses out on the Last Mile connectivity. Say a person staying in Domlur has to travel to Manyata Tech Park, then they need to walk from home to bus stop, then from Marathalli Bridge to the next Bus stop, which is a long walk and then wait for Bus, which is usually crowded during peak hours. Thus a corporate employee would opt for a 2 wheeler minimum of a low end Car. Then Uber, etc are damn expensive. On the road we have free for all road. During peak hours you could find every vehicle on Bangalore roads, chocking the road. Slow moving tractor, bullock cart, who knows even Aeroplanes
Yes. You have rightly pointed out the problem. So many autos, two wheelers, taxis, school bus or big lorrys are parked on one side of the road leaving only one or one and half line for vehicle movement. Now days I sees, police are standing or sitting on their bikes near signal and watching videos on mobile, what it takes for them to go on their bikes and make sure the roads are not parked with vehicles. This alone will solve big problem of traffic.
Not a brief explanation at all As a banglorean i have seen that all old buses which pollute like crazy are brought back to levy on the road now Because bmtc isn’t making money to necessitate for new buses all cause of these senseless schemes This govt just ruined development
Make car parking with higher charges, make driving cars expensive like Amsterdam. Then make exclusive bus lanes or trans connecting all major roads with big cycle lanes and cycle paking slots.
There are many points to talk 1. First BMTC employees must treat passengers in good rash behaviour must not be. 2.They should stop buses exactly in bus bay provided without stopping on middle of the road I find many BMTC and other also stoping where they want without following traffic rules. 3. Police are operating signals manually without analysing traffic They should upgrade to traffic sensing signal system where it sense traffic. 4. Proper u turns are not planned due to that people are blocking total road. See hyderabad people talking u turn they divide with dividers 5. Mainly police should stop people coming in opposite direction 6.Movement of heavy vehicles in office hours should be avoided and provide alternative way for them. 7. Finally parking a vehicle became very problem as their are not parking places and police in Bangalore are more interested in it to collect fine rather than finding solutions.
Expected a lot from the video, looking at the title, but unfortunately half of the video is annual report of BMTC. The solution suggested is like a passing comment, please deep dive. Would have been better to see more research on this topic.
I was traveling by BUS to Whitefield, my mobile and laptop got stolen in BMTC Bus . That's why I don't travel by bus anymore. BMTC buses are shit often heavily crowded , no space to get in at all and theft concerns as well. Conductors don't give the money back . You have to go and ask for continuously for them to give back the change.
In order to decongest Bangalore. Industry need to move out to tier 2&3 cities. These cities need to be planned in such a way that employees stay near their offices or workplaces.last mile connectivity needs to be improved. Procurement of bus pass id cards need to made user friendly and should be available all through the month. Bmtc already makes passes available with conductors. Issue these passes and id card through the companies.
😂😂😂 WFH is the solution to remove unnecessary traffic from road. But they are the sources for govt to earn back the money they spent on Metro, through Real-estate, through shopping taxes. 😂😂😂😂
Wipro should move there company to singasandra, siemens should move to garebavipalya, separate all the IT companies to different locations automatically traffic will be reduced.
I have lived in Mumbai, Delhi, & Bangalore. The only place in India where a corporate employee can even 'think' about riding bus to office is Mumbai. Delhi Metro is also feasible to an extent but last mile connectivity is still a hassle. As for Bangalore, the roads. My God they are pathetic, leave apart riding in a bus, I will shudder if I need to drive an SUV on those roads. Maybe once Namma Bengaluru metro is ready in its full form, things will be better.
I am in Hyderabad now. Previously, I was in Bengaluru for 6 years. What I saw the difference 1. Hyderabad is having great infrastructure. Wide roads, long bridges, underpass, less crossroad and more U turns. 2. Future planning. They have already developed roads and infrastructures in the area where future companies and residential will be there like Tellapur, Kokapet, Gopanpally. 3. Separate area for corporate. In Hyderabad, Hi Tech city, Madhapur and Finance City means Corporate area. They call this area as Cybarabad. There is less relation between Old city and Cybarabad. In Bengaluru, it is not the case. Corporate companies are in every direction. One side Manyata Tech park, other side is Electronic city, Another side is for Whitefield. Some companies are in Koramangala, HSR, JP Nagar, Dairy circle. 4. More Flats and Residential options near Corporate area. More people can stay in less area in the flats.
Yes , your suggestion of free bus to all is good suggestiib. Even i am of the same opinion. This will reduce traffic problems. Poluution can be reduced. Govt can meet the BMTC expenditure. It is not a loss for the govt if total taxes govt is collecting from all sources taken into account.
I have been a Bangalore native for long. Let me tell you the main problem causing traffic buildups. Parking/halting of vehicles on arterial roads. This is what is causing back pressure to build and the ripple effect is a huge slow down behind. Police don't want to talk about it because it will become their problem to monitor this and it will hit their monthly collections from businessses. Make all arterial roads no-halt zones and get police on 2 wheelers to patrol all the time and impose hefty fines and this problem will be resolved in no time.
I love to take the bus whenever possible. Another problem you didn't speak about is cash issues. In today's scenario cash is passe. There should be a cashless option like UPI acceptability on all buses not just the airport ones. This will encourage the younger crowds to adapt to the change.
The speed of traffic movement in namma Bengaluru is determined by the slowest vehicles, and these are autos, goods autos, and small tempos, if they are put in the left lane, the entire vehicular movement will speed up. Are you listening Traffic Commissioner? This is a quick solution to Bengaluru traffic woes.
Every problem has a solution. My suggestion is that the decentralisation. The government should take measures to start companies in two tier cities. Why is this not possible. Companies colleges everything in Bangalore so please encourage companies to run in two tier cities
Earlier I used to travel with BMTC bus but one day i was travelling back from my office to my home, unfortunately I don't had change cash that day but still I catch the bus, i gave 500 note to driver but he told he don't have change and ask me to leave the bus. He stopped the driver and make me to leave the bus. I feel very bad that day. I also asked him for if he has UPI QR code, I can pay him. So after that incident I am travelling from auto or bike taxi.
Great video. Government, BMTC, BBMP and private companies have to come together and make some serious plans. There must be some serious steps that have to be taken like not allowing private cars for certain days of the week to commute to the office. This should be done phase wise. There should be vision and slowly work towards it the way be did during pandemic and vaccinated so many people even though it was looking impossible.
People not taking public transport is probably the last mile connectivity e.g. if a person has to walk 2 KMs to board a bus and another 1 KM to reach office, that's when people consider taking their own personal vehicle(s). Also major challenge arise during rains where water logging might become another hurdle to reach bus-stop even if it's 500m
First and foremost, private companies should stop giving free parking for employees. Charge all car owners a hefty parking charge and see how cars will start disappearing from the roads. This is done across all major cities in the world. So, why not Bangalore? Second, bring back bus lanes. This will drastically cut down travel times by bus and will instill respect for bus travel.
How did these BMTC come to my home, where the roads are 15-20 feet road. The first mistake is the layout. There is no main road. You call it a 20 foot road as the main road
I wonder when will people finally start calling it Bengaluru instead of fancy Bangalore. Bombay has turned into Mumbai long back So does Calcutta -> Kolkata Madras -> Chennai Etc
I lost my phone while going to office in bmtc bus. Also someone tried to steal my laptop but i was fortunate enough. Thats when i decided to buy own two wheeler. Traveling in bus is very risky. Aslo it saves time and you can reach quicker compared to cars. What government can do is make some days when cars should be avoided. This is for office goers only.
It has become very risky after the freebies to women. Buses are over crowded and lots of women are travelling for no reason. Criminals are having a good time. Maintenance of buses is very poor.
Build parallel roads to all main roads so that there is more than one route to reach destination. This might involve road widening and relocating some existing buildings on these parallel roads. Also intersecting roads in grid fashion are needed. We have this kind of infrastructure in some planned areas of Bangalore.
As you mention All big companies/tech parks should tie up with bmtc (and employers pay atleast 50% for travelling), at the same time, charge for car/bike parking. This will encourage ppl to take buses.
Boy it's simple, put the price of petrol and diesel cars to a cost of Rs 1000/- only for Bangalore City mains except outskirts, automatically the cars on roads will decrease and only the people in rural Bangalore will pull cars at that time. For these people, the petrol feels cheap. But once this gets to say Rs 100 for a petrol then these people will stop using cars and stop buying cars altogether. They will be forced to use public transport on a frequent basis and we can see free roads in Bangalore.
Most of the cars are blocked because bmtc bus stops at middle of the road instead of bus stop blocking the traffic. Only solution is bmtc buses need to follow traffic lane discipline.
The answer to the Bangalore traffic problems can be solved in this manner.1.Day traffic will be only for schools and govt offices.2.The I.T. sector will work from Home and the meetings can be held in virtual Zoom sessions.3.They can decentralize the I.T. sectors into other districts considering location does not matter in I.T.4. Sir pods can be built for transportation.
A challenge I find with using BMTC is that there is no convenient way to find bus routes, bus stops, change points etc to get from one point to another. If a convenient comprehensive app or website that enables a user to navigate public transport (Buses, EMU and Metro) easily is made available, the usage would definitely improve. No one would want to take out a car in the chaotic Bengaluru traffic if s/he is able to plan his/her journey conveniently trough public transport. The uncertainty of public transport is a huge deterrent. The app should be able to suggest the best and most convenient route combining BMTC buses, EMUs and Namma Metro. It should also be AI based and indicate real-time updates on actual running timings of varous public transport mediums and also provide navigation to the nearest bus-stop, railway station/metro station.
1. Narrow roads in Bangalore. 2. Inactive traffic police 3. No improvements in infrastructure. 4. Proximity to BMTC, Metro is far. Residences are next to Metro stations 5. Migration
the biggest issues is as listed below 1. Poor traffic management 2. Unnecessary and unplanned traffic signals 3. No respect for traffic rules / rash driving 4. Poor road quality, bad & poorly planned roads 5. Crazy footpath size against road in many high traffic density roads like Residency Road, st marks road, gandhi bazaar etc…. Implement strict traffic rules, people will start following traffic rules and there will be better sense.
I agree with all of your points. There is another major problem , 99% of the people are always driving/riding their vehicles in URGENT MODE. 24x7 Honking on the roads ,even though it could be completely avoided. there are really really bad drivers on the road who dont know shit about traffic rules. Cant you wait for 5 more seconds for the other person to pass ? Why is every single person behaving like they need to catch a flight ? I see so many accidents on the road could be avoided, if you just wait for 2 seconds and look around before racing your vehicle into the bumper of the next vehicle. just have some patience and follow some basic rules, and your headache will reduce.
1. Big flats/ association should provide shuttle service to nearest bus / metro points 2. Companies in industrial area/ IT hub, should run- private/state partnership buses. 3.dedicated Bus lane. All the people will start using, if it's fast and comfortable 3. Increase the road registration taxes for car. So that people start using public transport.
Better to start train services fm Elect city to various places along with dozens of trains fm KR puram Visweswaraiah Yeswantapur stations to control traffic along with MMTC services like in Hyd
I used to travel by bmtc bus G9 route around 7 years ago from yelahanka to mg road , the service was extremely bad , they need to improve the frequency plus maintain the buses in good condition, after using G9 for a few months I started using my 2 wheeler, anyway that was 7 years ago , hopefully with metro connextivity after 3 years situation will improve.
Main problem is IT companies sending employees in innova and other sedans instead of office buses...... almost 500 cabs per techpark perday at 5 pm in the evening is choking the ORR.
Reserve seats for gents. Then some people may show some intrest to go in busses. Or else only free seats occupie whole bus, including their reserved seats.
solution are 1)306 companies are there in orr it should be minimized 2)mg road, magadiroad, mysore road, silk road, koramangala sonysignal people who travel to these places majority oneperson travel in car it should be avoided 3) govt shold allocate more budget rather on gurantess 4)construction of flyover in above mentioned roads
Lot of one-way roads makes fuel consumption more the fact of the matter is there are lot of army lands inside the city which blocks major connection if some of the lands given in outer of city things may change
Why all companies need to be in and around Marathalli.. There is fine space available towards Hoskote.. government can expand upto hoskote and bring in some space that will help decongest amd club hoakote into Bangalore and extend metro to hoskote
just increase in the mode of transport doesn't make any difference. If you want to make a big difference, we need to shift drastically by not using private vehicle using all kinds of measure and easily accessible transport example - Metro BMRCL and bmtc can do them but not efficient enough and also regulating the roads also but worst case scenario all the traffic, city Taxi and App Taxi for to that adding more Auto and two wheelers will create a massive issue
Whatever you said + 1. Proper infrastructure 2. More buses during rush hours, nobody wants to reach office sweaty 3. Corporate bus passes to encourage them to take bus
Give full time work from home. Only on long holidays and festivals traffic will be there. Then. Decentrlize try moving IT outside hosur or near by hassan, or tier 3 towns
1) Present solution is leasing buses or cabs by office for dropping or picking employees during odd hours. 2)Encourge public to use metro service. Select few important metro station for public road transport like e rickshaw and e buses. 3) Increase parking fees which will encourage public to use public transport.
Metro is already well utilised Next focus should be on extending lines and push resident by rewarding to use public transport and or increasing cost owning cars, Taxi services also be considered.. So much so that few people on the internet can't make a difference 😢
Make pheriperial ring roads ,alsoake good connectivity roads to ring road . All villages entrance road fix it to minimum 100 feet roads and widen it . Bring sime policy and do it 1) all villages main entrance roads should be 100 feet 2)main road commercil site owners should leave minimum 10 feet for loading inloading . Which will not disturb the main road 3) outer peripheral ring roads for every 5 kms of 300 feet width 4) new companies should be given licence at out skirts ,since already connectivity issues planned , 5)no vertical building licences for above 4 floors inside the city ,ie,inside the core 10kms ,also no licence for above 6 floors inside the 15 kms range . 6) metro at every part of the city 7) foot paths sbould be free from commercial enroachments . 8)parking at each metro station ,ie both sides . 3)
Free is never a solution, better option is to issue a subsidised pass and premium pass where the last mile connectivity is also covered. If home to office connectivity is not solved dependency on own vehicles will remain. One more thing that can be done is to issue permit to buy a personal vehicle, issue it only if the person work demands personal vehicle.
The best solution for namma Bengaluru city traffic congestion is the metro projects have to be completed in time the more rapid transport system we have the traffic congestion will automatically reduce we can't just keep expanding the roads it is simple common sense the more roads you expand the volume of the traffic will keep rising now if all the metro lines are opened it will give a lot of relief to the entire citizens of the city
Only thing is relocate 60% of companies to other cities in Karnataka and facilities all the resources like international airports, fastest highway connectivity through out Karnataka...
Its a catch 22 situation, right now the experience in traveling in a bus is horrible because of the traffic but unless you travel by Bus the traffic will not reduce
Yes, I have commuted by BMTC all my education life. From 8th standard till my post graduation and even in my first 2 jobs. Let me share what peak hour meant in Sarjapur route. Towards City market of Majestic, there very less buses and massive crowd. First there were those red buses, then blue buses, If you got space even 3 inches on footboard, that’s a lucky day. You hustle and get the space or wait for another bus risk the attendance. Hustle has always been the choice. Over the years, they started automatic doors, then the new buses started, now the technology and number of buses is much better. Yes, there is crowd in peak hours because of school, colleges and jobs but it is better now. And a long way to go, hope they will improve.
a. Karnataka as a state now has airports in 11 districts. if we move some of big tech parks and start eco system (mysore has some). this will help in crowd management. b. review all the parking places and renovate if needed. i think people don't mind paying if the pay n park place is good and safe. c. our DL test need a major policy change. if we succeed here, this helps in solving some of the issues. give 50days to people get their motor vehicles papers in order (this will help in filtering lot of vehicles coming to roads) d. if the officials take people's trust as a partner it would far easier to implement the solutions to traffic problems. e. the 'bus day' taken as event. i am not saying entirely. f. to sustain for long run, we have give break to mother bengaluru. the flood, traffic jams for hours, accidents have become news cycle.
@@cndnro I'm specifically talking about the 1st point, moving tech parks to other parts of Karnataka. i would not like to see non Karnataka people infesting rest of Karnataka like they're doing with Bengaluru. only thing keeping more people from coming to Bangalore at this point is the crowd and inflation, moving tech parks will eventually lead to rest of Karnataka becoming like Bengaluru eventually. as long as there is opportunity Clowns will pour in. Moving tech parks outside the state is a better option And as far as tourism damage goes every other nature spots like the sahyadri range of hills (western ghats) will become like nandhi hils. only conservative measures can save Karnataka from becoming like Bengaluru. as for benguluru it's gone, nothing can be done unless draconian measures are an option.
@@WhiteTiger-o3l I get we are too divided as a state and country. The main reason for this massive traffic jams every day is because people are migrating from all over India to bangalore. I was born and brought up in bangalore. 30 years back bangalore was a small queit city. After 2000 many IT companies set up their offices in bangalore and people began to migrate here. Now the govt is only doing alteration work to a supposedly small city which will serve no purpose. The only viable alternative is to build satellite towns far away bangalore and shift the IT companies.
no entry for lories on peak hours speed limit under 50km within city limits strict action on rules breakers no parking on narrow roads more public buses on peak hours no nees of new rules , just need to strictly follow the present traffic rules
Exclusive luxruy buses for the IT Parks & IT companies... Govt should make this compulsory to IT Parks .....IT Parks should allow private vehicles just 2 days a week to start with n then ban completely after few months... This way govt can generate revenue for BMTC and can solve traffic problems...

1st and 3rd are the problems. 2nd is may be 0.001% of bangalore traffic congestion
South taxx amount gets spent in less developed North states by central govt
Unemploymnt is high people are coming to South States
First let them solve the local public transportation . They are highly erratic and apps are disfuctional .
@@normie111so south states are well developed ???
Introducing a shared auto concept from inside colonies to main road is really helpfull...this improves the last mile connectivity...Take an example of hyderabad,,
Being fellow resident of Bengaluru
I confirm that traffic is the worst enemy for our productivity .
"no problem of traffic" in Mumbai? 😂😂😂
without locals it would be worse@@agnesh677
@@agnesh677 I was not talking about traffic on the road. I meant traffic doesn't affect Mumbai local.
True. Freebies will destroy the economy. Moreover, it is gender discrimination against men
1. Increase in bus frequency and accuracy of tracking buses and free for all citizens.
2. Increase metro connectivity.
3. Special train to run around the Bengaluru.
4. Increase car pooling (currently ban by present government)
Just extend the closure timings of all offices, malls, shops etc from 10:30 to night 1:00 AM, So that major portion of the evening traffic can get diverted to late night
who works in offices, malls, shops? u and me . not the mall owner. u dont want to have a family life?
it's better to shift IT & BT to major cities i.e Belgum, HUBLI DHARWAD, Manglore, shimoga, Davangere, Hospete....
Villagers do IT 😂 Bengaluru is best
I do support this, Major of the Companies should start shifting to Near by major cities in and around Karnataka
The Population should get distributed to Other parts of India also
Free won’t help, however a periodic shuttle services with incentivised ticket prices from key office locations to the residential area or near by metros will reduce the usage of cars. Safety of employees at later evenings (drop times) will have to be considered while increasing such public mode of transportation too.
Probable solutions -
It is very simple to solve the bangalore traffic
1) along the elevation metro line where ever the signal or junction comes try to construct a flyover along with metro line ( only at the junction or signal point) so that 50% of the congestion will clear
2) Implement the manual mode of signalling during the peak hours atleast ie during the morning time people use to come towards majestic that time people who go out of city side traffic is very less that time because of auto traffic count down the time is getting waste
3) major and top most implementation to be done by government is speed up the suburban and metro projects so that as CSR corporate social responsibility these corporate company has to encourage their staff or order them to come by public transport instant of arranging the cab
Possible solution
1.Increase bus frequency during peak hrs and non peak hrs
2.free for all at least 1yr
3.after an year then govt can observe and plan frequency timings and routes accordingly
4.separate buses for women and men or separate compartment in every bus...
5.seat for every commuter in the bus
6.once the number of buses is doubled for the 1st few months people travelling to the offices in own cars will struggle to drive and over time they'll use cars rarely and buses regularly
7.increase petrol cost and 4w tax for individual
8.if a 4w is registered for taxi purpose give some concession with some other rules to limit the permits.
9.over time people will get accustomed to use buses again
And develop other areas around Bengaluru orr
Private taxi autos don't allow real time tracking of bmtc buses,no shuttle services from house to bus stand
BRTS exclusive Bus travel lanes are to be earmarked at least on major/ wider roads. Cars and other 4/ 6/ 8 wheelers on the rest of the lanes.
Being a bangalorean i can understand the problem. We need better metro connectivity in the city. BMTC is also helpful. In the end people need to really understand that owning a single car will solve the problem. You don’t need 2-3 cars.
Bro everyday in buses mobiles and purses got robbed. Main issue is this only.
Not a brief explanation at all
As a banglorean i have seen that all old buses which pollute like crazy are brought back to levy on the road now
Because bmtc isn’t making money to necessitate for new buses all cause of these senseless schemes
This govt just ruined development
Make car parking with higher charges, make driving cars expensive like Amsterdam.
Then make exclusive bus lanes or trans connecting all major roads with big cycle lanes and cycle paking slots.
There are many points to talk
1. First BMTC employees must treat passengers in good rash behaviour must not be.
2.They should stop buses exactly in bus bay provided without stopping on middle of the road I find many BMTC and other also stoping where they want without following traffic rules.
3. Police are operating signals manually without analysing traffic
They should upgrade to traffic sensing signal system where it sense traffic.
4. Proper u turns are not planned due to that people are blocking total road. See hyderabad people talking u turn they divide with dividers
5. Mainly police should stop people coming in opposite direction
6.Movement of heavy vehicles in office hours should be avoided and provide alternative way for them.
Thank you for the valuable comment. Will work on it.
Metro is the best solution. However, Metro to major IT Parks is not available.
Beyond Bengaluru is the only solution 😊
I have lived in Mumbai, Delhi, & Bangalore. The only place in India where a corporate employee can even 'think' about riding bus to office is Mumbai. Delhi Metro is also feasible to an extent but last mile connectivity is still a hassle. As for Bangalore, the roads. My God they are pathetic, leave apart riding in a bus, I will shudder if I need to drive an SUV on those roads. Maybe once Namma Bengaluru metro is ready in its full form, things will be better.
I am in Hyderabad now. Previously, I was in Bengaluru for 6 years. What I saw the difference
More people can stay in less area in the flats.
bro are u in hyderabad now the situation getting worse day by day
Yes , your suggestion of free bus to all is good suggestiib.
Make govt tell companies to allow work from home. People will happily go back to home places and traffic should vanish.
Bombay has turned into Mumbai long back
So does
Calcutta -> Kolkata
Madras -> Chennai
Etc
Delhi has far more migrants than any other City, yet the infrastructure is there to sustain air pollution is different problem though.
the corporate offices should move from the heart of the city ..Karnataka has a lot of land ..new corporate need to be liitle far away ..
Main reason is because of roadside parking.. If we avoid roadside parking.. Major traffic problem will be solved..
Thoughts on lack of parking space?
Nooooope more roads lead to more traffic
As per your data. Bmtc slary for each employee amounts to Rs. 58239 (1688 cr/ 28984)
Seems inflated. Or am I missing something ?
Shift IT and Industries to outskirts of Bangalore it will Solve the issue
not really, whitefeild was on the outskirts, electronic city still is, no use.
Migration
the biggest issues is as listed below
1. Poor traffic management
2. Unnecessary and unplanned traffic signals
3. No respect for traffic rules / rash driving
4. Poor road quality, bad & poorly planned roads
Sir please take a class to congress Govt about free bus .
This would kill BMTC.
This scheme won't change the ICD
1. Big flats/ association should provide shuttle service to nearest bus / metro points
2. Companies in industrial area/ IT hub, should run- private/state partnership buses.
3.dedicated Bus lane. All the people will start using, if it's fast and comfortable
3. Increase the road registration taxes for car. So that people start using public transport.
Better to start train services fm Elect city to various places along with dozens of trains fm KR puram Visweswaraiah Yeswantapur stations to control traffic along with MMTC services like in Hyd
You are not mentioning how many kms for 3 hrs
Or else only free seats occupie whole bus, including their reserved seats.
solution are
1)306 companies are there in orr it should be minimized
2)mg road, magadiroad, mysore road, silk road, koramangala sonysignal people who travel to these places majority oneperson travel in car it should be avoided
3) govt shold allocate more budget rather on gurantess
4)construction of flyover in above mentioned roads
All of your suggestions are just good. But they do not lead to permanent solution.
Lot of one-way roads makes fuel consumption more the fact of the matter is there are lot of army lands inside the city which blocks major connection if some of the lands given in outer of city things may change
First Strike! Army loves to have more space, not sure if they are even ok to discussions like giving land to roads.
The major reason of bangalore traffic is 0 infra development by govt. Govt should focus more on infra development rather than giving free
Whatever you said +
1. Proper infrastructure
2. More buses during rush hours, nobody wants to reach office sweaty
3. Corporate bus passes to encourage them to take bus
3 hrs in 3 mins 👌😉 you travel by flight. No it's time to walk on clouds 😂
Give full time work from home.
Only on long holidays and festivals traffic will be there.
Then.
Decentrlize try moving IT outside hosur or near by hassan, or tier 3 towns
how long can people work from home? Don't you think couple fights increase?
1) Present solution is leasing buses or cabs by office for dropping or picking employees during odd hours.
2)Encourge public to use metro service. Select few important metro station for public road transport like e rickshaw and e buses.
3) Increase parking fees which will encourage public to use public transport.
Metro is already well utilised
Next focus should be on extending lines and push resident by rewarding to use public transport and or increasing cost owning cars,
Taxi services also be considered..
So much so that few people on the internet can't make a difference 😢
Make pheriperial ring roads ,alsoake good connectivity roads to ring road .
All villages entrance road fix it to minimum 100 feet roads and widen it .
Bring sime policy and do it
1) all villages main entrance roads should be 100 feet
2)main road commercil site owners should leave minimum 10 feet for loading inloading . Which will not disturb the main road
3) outer peripheral ring roads for every 5 kms of 300 feet width
4) new companies should be given licence at out skirts ,since already connectivity issues planned ,
5)no vertical building licences for above 4 floors inside the city ,ie,inside the core 10kms ,also no licence for above 6 floors inside the 15 kms range .
6) metro at every part of the city
7) foot paths sbould be free from commercial enroachments .
It will reduce once the metro starts full operation from the silk board to Hebbal.
The best solution is work from home. No pollution, No traffic, No time waste.
Have you traveled in BMTC first on peak hours, then you would know
Yes, I have commuted by BMTC all my education life. And a long way to go, hope they will improve.
please have a look at Kota Rajasthan, 1st Indian city without any traffic signal
a. Karnataka as a state now has airports in 11 districts. if we move some of big tech parks and start eco system (mysore has some). this will help in crowd management.
b. review all the parking places and renovate if needed. i think people don't mind paying if the pay n park place is good and safe.
c. our DL test need a major policy change. if we succeed here, this helps in solving some of the issues. give 50days to people get their motor vehicles papers in order (this will help in filtering lot of vehicles coming to roads)
d. if the officials take people's trust as a partner it would far easier to implement the solutions to traffic problems.
e. the 'bus day' taken as event. i am not saying entirely.
f. to sustain for long run, we have give break to mother bengaluru. the flood, traffic jams for hours, accidents have become news cycle.
the side-effect of this would be the oppression by North Indians and their "self proclaimed national language" would spread all over Karnataka
@@WhiteTiger-o3l what?
we survived well with that status of mind.
Moving tech parks outside the state is a better option
And as far as tourism damage goes every other nature spots like the sahyadri range of hills (western ghats) will become like nandhi hils.
only conservative measures can save Karnataka from becoming like Bengaluru. as for benguluru it's gone, nothing can be done unless draconian measures are an option.
@@WhiteTiger-o3l I get we are too divided as a state and country. I feel those districts which has airports has potential to be sub hubs.
people who cane other parts of the country contributedas well. don't think so people move with mindset of destroying nature or city.
I respect your response but we have to see greater good to save mother bengaluru.

ICD is not looking for free tickets. Bring in more low-floor AC buses. And digital payments on the Bus (UPI/cards).
The only viable alternative is to build satellite towns far away bangalore and shift the IT companies.
no entry for lories on peak hours
speed limit under 50km within city limits
strict action on rules breakers
no parking on narrow roads
more public buses on peak hours
no nees of new rules , just need to strictly follow the present traffic rules
People should become conscious that's all🎉🎉❤❤
Only solution is to make traffic sense into minds of the people
Exclusive luxruy buses for the IT Parks & IT companies... Govt should make this compulsory to IT Parks .....IT Parks should allow private vehicles just 2 days a week to start with n then ban completely after few months... This way govt can generate revenue for BMTC and can solve traffic problems...
