Even after six months KR Puram to Byappanhalli is not complete. BMRCL comes up with excuses that no one can think of. There were bureaucrats like Sivasailam who blocked Suburban Rail for decades. BMRCL is still thinking about when to inaugurate the missing link even after the CMRS approvals.

Metro for Bengaluru people is still a luxury travel.... Unless your start - end points are within 2 kms from the respective metro station, it's going to be expensive and time consuming.... Let's not even get into "walk to the station" debate as our roads are simply not meant for pedestrians. Roads even more dangerous for pedestrians than riding a bike...

It is not the first time Metro has missed its deadline. Their bureaucrats do not have proper project management practices in place. Actually the problem behind this huge headway is that the BMRC made a faux pas in choosing the vendor for the rolling stock. BMRC chose CRRC Nanjing Puzhen (China) pre-COVID, with the condition of maximum domestic manufacturing. It tried hard to set up a plant in India, first in Nagpur (in partnership with MahaMetro), and then in Sri City by itself; it failed on both occasions, due in no small part to Galwan. Now, CRRC, in order to meet the domestic manufacturing clause, has tied up with Titagarh Wagons Ltd to manufacture the 216 coaches it had agreed to supply to BMRC, in a new brownfield facility in Titagarh's existing plant in Uttarpara, West Bengal. It may take some more time (around 6 more months) for the first coach to roll off the assembly lines and be delivered to BMRC. Meanwhile, BMRC will also need to make a lot of changes to the Baiyappanahalli depot on the Purple Line before it connects the Whitefield-KRP line to the rest of the Purple Line. Most importantly, the reason behind the high headway, is that land acquisition delays have forced the 1.5-km missing link between KRP and Baiyappanahalli to be delayed (much like the case of Trilokpuri on the Pink Line in Delhi Metro).
@@darshilmashru8479 Nothing cool down bro, that is a new route not yet linked to the rest of the system, that's why. Frequency is good on the rest of the system.

17 minutes wait was bad. Now its wayyyy better
Forgot to add earlier:
Well done also to all the important persons not seen!! The video persons and those recording the audio especially of the lady on the scooter. And especially well done to the storyboard editors and the timeline splicing techs. It's a small video but lot of small details that needs a lot of effort to splice correctly.
Trying to show off your nerd cred huh? Aspiring editor beta? Comment less and get to work.
I would choose work from home.
Metro only 😊
Thanks! Comparing at wrong time instead of evening please compare at actual office hours morning 8 am to 10 am may be :)
Just 4-5 mths more, and that missing link will be complete. Metro will then win hands down!
May be you'll get it by June or July. Except the track link(which is also completed 85-90%) almost all work is completed.
It is August and there is no sign of the Metro opening. Metro over commits and under delivers.
@@amithpallavoor. This is not a measly footpath or storm water drain project. It's a metro project. 6-mths from the last KRP-WFD inauguration (in Mar 2023) is what was predicted by Blore Metro Skyscrapercity forumers (notwithstanding what BMRCL and media say). That's very reasonable , and we're on track for that, viz. Sep 2023
It is not the first time Metro has missed its deadline. Their bureaucrats do not have proper project management practices in place. It is not just about construction but also delay in coach procurement when it comes to the Yellow Line.
Let us not talk about Suburban Rail, which was scheduled to open in 2026.
Nice information
2 hour journey from Arakere to Indiranager. 45 min in metro. 1 hour 15 mins getting to/from metro station. Rs 50 for metro. Rs 300 for auto to/from metro. Metro is awesome, please fix connectivity! :))
if the public transport keeps improving like this and the people actually learn to stop thinking individualistically, then we can reduce traffic by a lot (read faster bus travel times) and have way less pollution and temperature hikes.
I would say personal vehicle because going from your main starting point to the metro station is again a hassle and not all metro stations have two-wheeler parking.
there should be some sort of express services that skip certain stations which will actually save time for commuters travelling from one end to the other.
why dont you skip to end and watch the results directly?
What was the total cost for both of them?
if you see,
there was around wastage for time going through metro
17 min to wait for metro to come
15-20 min for changing from metro -> bus -> metro
if these things will get sorted, i think travel time will reduced by 20-25 mins easily or maybe more
now these things are 5 mins
and the stretch is complete so it takes 3/4 of the time
Here in Delhi I reach to my office in 35 minutes via delhi metro. Which is around 23 kilometers away from my home & U have to spend 25 minute for just 13 kilometers & UR frequency is 15 minutes for another metro OMG😮. Here I have to wait 2 minutes for another metro. Bengaluru metro have to do a lot in it's metro system.
@@lokeshwaranvr Yes, but once this line is linked to the rest of the Purple Line, the frequency will slightly worsen. CRRC-Titagarh need to supply rolling stock at the earliest to maintain a good frequency.
you know its real bad when the benchmark for "not bad traffic" is i"vehicles were moving"
I will always choose metro in Kochi, Kerala.
People getting caught for not using helmet 😅😅😅.
Good keep it up. Make it faster
Was in bangalore last month, and everyday 9-10am I used to see jam packed metro cars towards Whitefield lol
Scooter person had fun inhaling all the Carbon Monoxide
Under current situation (as d 2 stations r not connected) I'll rather ride a 2 wheeler to reach my destination.😊
Metro: if line is complete❤
Her experience was ‘fun’ 😊
Daccan herald, Always metro is preferred.
Lack of public transportation is one of the worst things about b'luru. I just wish b'luru's public transportation gets better. This will be a relief. Plus the roads here needs to be expanded, the main roads are so narrow here compared to delhi NCR.
The girl who drove is defending the travel via road so much and changing her opinion like anything. Just accept it it's a headache to drive here and no comparison b/w travel via metro and road. Metro wins hands down.
What I learned from this video: Journalistas are divas. Thank you.
Obviously metro wins
If not for the 17 min wait for the metro ……and also given the interim bus travel…..:Metro would be a wiser choice
