She thought they were the real deal, so she rented him a car, bought him airline ticket, and sent him money, but now he won’t pay her back. She’s suing for what she’s owed. The defendant says the plaintiff bought the plane ticket because he caught COVID and she felt bad for him. He denies owing anything.

I like how the Judge tried to get her to understand that it doesn’t matter if he sleeps with other people the same day or the same month. The risk is the same. They were in an open relationship and at the minimum, multiple partners is expected. The plaintiff settled for saying he just wasn’t honest about it… but she would not have been so hurt if she just expected it anyway. Everyone isn’t built for casual sexual relationships. I know I’m not.

The plaintiff is so smart that she is dumb . She wasn’t making much sense in what she was saying in terms of him being with a woman or not etc etc . People can't even tell what is a debit card vs a credit card anymore.. they all look completely different there's so many companies you can get them through unless you studied all credit cards you're not going to know which one's a debit and which one's the credit
Some won't do debit card unless ure renting from a rental company in the same state as your driver's license.
I have a debit card & when I want the money taken out right then, I will hit ‘debit’ on the pin pad. And if I don’t & want it taken out later that day or the next, I hit ‘credit’ on the pin pad.

Lesson Learned: It’s okay to say NO to loaning money, especially to someone you’ve known a short time. Once you’ve established a trustworthy friendship/relationship then you only give money if you have it to spare. Otherwise, you take the risk of not getting money you loaned back and that will most certainly ruin a friendship/relationship. OR, if you do decide to loan money be sure to get the payback agreement in writing. And, in the case of multiple loans, don’t loan more money before you get the previous loaned amount back. Thank goodness the text message served as a really good written loan agreement. Kudos to the defendant for at least having that important piece of evidence! Peace…
Any time I have ever borrowed money from folks I ALWAYS paid it back. I have friends I can ask for 5k from right now and they would hand it right over without even asking me what I need it for. I hate when people take advantage of others like this because it destroys the relationship for people you can actually trust.
I am like that too but don't like to borrow. I have bought a house and am selling another house my brother and I own. I got just over $100 000 less for my house than the one i am buying, so need to borrow till I sell the other house. I am borrowing from my brother, I have had an open discussion with him, I have included his daughters, as I also have power of attorney for him as he is quadriplegic. So I wanted it to be all open and above board but I am still really uncomfortable. I just found out it is less I have to borrow and the other house going on the market soon but still not comfortable with it.
