As someone who actually suffers from a nicotine addiction (vaping for me), I knew what this song was about right away and it hits almost as hard as that first hit of nicotine.. This is my personal experience with every quote. "I can feel you in my lungs, feel you in my veins. Bloodstream only way to make it to my brain, going crazy cause I only feel this good with you" Obviously, smoking/vaping hits lungs and gives you a buzz if you hit it hard enough. For the last line of this, I feel oddly safe when I have my vape with me.. It's fucked up. "When we're together I don't even feel a buzz" You don't get the buzz after constantly hitting drags, unless you switch.. But that just keeps the cycle going. "I'm addicted to this shit like it was hard drugs" is simply telling the listener that it is addictive. It is, and you keep telling yourself that you're fine but you're not. "You the only girl I need I gotta have you back, even though you turn my lungs black. Tell me where you've been Jack" is telling the listener that he tried to turn to drinking to get over his addiction go smoking, but probably went back to cigarettes. I drink a lot, not addicted, just when I do it with friends, and I tried to do it more to distract me from vaping. But nicotine is my go-to and I couldn't stop. This is my favourite Logic song for the simple fact that this is an extended metaphor, it can be taken as comparing a woman to drugs or vice versa. We see a similar thing at the beat switch in YSIV the song and he spoke from the perspective of money. This also has my favourite instrumental of any Logic song, the way he subtly slid in the drums starting with the kick was ingenious and the transition between different instruments was beautiful. Anyways, my Nikki was a girl in my high school named Natailea. She was everything I wanted, everything I longed for, and I would've done anything to be around her. I had known her for about seven years from before we started dating. She had PTSD, depression, bipolar, and anxiety so we had a lot of common issues and we could open up to each other. She was far more extreme than I was though, she could be psycho angry, but on the other end she could be so loving and kind. We did drugs together which I always payed for but I didn't mind. This is my favourite Logic song for the simple fact that this is an extended metaphor, it can be taken as comparing a woman to drugs or vice versa. We see a similar thing at the beat switch in YSIV the song and he spoke from the perspective of money. This also has my favourite instrumental of any Logic song, the way he subtly slid in the drums starting with the kick was ingenious and the transition between different instruments was beautiful. Anyways, my Nikki was a girl in my high school named Natailea. She was everything I wanted, everything I longed for, and I would've done anything to be around her. I had known her for about seven years from before we started dating. She had PTSD, depression, bipolar, and anxiety so we had a lot of common issues and we could open up to each other. She was far more extreme than I was though, she could be psycho angry, but on the other end she could be so loving and kind. We did drugs together which I always payed for but I didn't mind. I used my job to help put food in her fridge and then I heard from a lot of people she talked to that she had been cheating and tha she was using me for money. I ended it with her and it still hurts. Aight, that's my story
