I can understand that ppl hate on MGK because they like Em and there are for sure some things he did wrong, but u still gotta respect MGK for first of all dissing Em and if we are honest, the disses are good. Not even big names had the balls to diss Em, even tho Em dissed them. Also the fact that people be saying that Em made MGK switch genres because he lost so bad is just weird af. MGK literally started with that kind of music and u might not like it but its a lot better than his "rap" albums and stuff besides a few songs.

yes but those 2 albums are what caused him to focus his energy on punk rock. Imagine being so appalled that Em called you a mumble rapper, which I agree MGK was not in this category, and then releasing flaming garbage like Binge EP which was objectively a mumble rap album. I don't have anything bad to say about Hotel Diablo, one of his best albums, right on par with Lace Up, it just wasn't received well. Dude creates drama wherever he goes, actually dissed Slipknot when he was heavy in the Rock scene and absolutely butchered, eviscerated the classic song Aerials on the Howard Stern show. I honestly don't know how he had the popularity he did in the rock scene.

By the way Eminem wasn’t the reason he went to pop punk/rock. His career was fine he was pulling a pretty good amount of fans. The reason I think I’m ok hinting at pop punk and TTMD a whole pop punk album was made was because his best friend Mod Sun grew up in the scene (punk scene) so did mgk as mgk is also a big fan of pop punk and grunge. Mgk told mod that after ‘I think I’m ok’ on hotel Diablo that he’d make a whole pop punk album and be successful with it as a bet with Mod Sun, and Mod called bullshit being a best friend😂 mgks album Tickets To My Downfall was very successful paving a way for Nu Pop Punk to arrive while many artists went Pop Punk making a comeback in the punk/rock scene. He brought back a genre that was dying and then Mod Sun followed the trend with his album Internet Killed The Rockstar which was a really successful album. So mgk to go pop punk was all just because of best friends making a bet and having fun😅

Honestly, the only reason MGK got success in rock is because his name was attached to Travis Barker, an infamous drummer for Blink 182. He couldn't make a song without him. But when he started creating drama, Barker gave up on him.

Making him the only rapper to actually blow up even more AFTER getting dissed by em.
