Can we just give props to the professional lvl of editing this man has? That opening has actual movie vibes too it. Dude is on the same teir as fudgemuppet or theepicnate
I always looked at it like Primm in New Vegas: its very close to the start point, has few quests, had many more pre-release and beta content and importance, but today it just exists in game, to be seen once and almost forgotten.
Honestly Alek, that was an extremely impressive bit of investigation. I never connected all of the dots before, but I think you're dead on with the oblivion gate theory. We know they had the rough outline of TESIV already, with the not so subtle prediction down in Mournhold. Brilliant detective work!
Fkn love Pelagiad. Ill never forget the memories I made during my hardcore survivalist vanilla+ playthrough with that town. Spendibg the night at the inn, stocking up on supplies and venturing out into the local area to strive and slay and explore and return each night. Did the few little quests in the area and stayed for an ingame week just completely, utterly immersed.
Funnily enough, I had my first "player home" back in the day when I frist played Morrowind. It was the last house on the sideroad. I went in, killed the dude and declared my ownership - basically paying the guards for the house *cough Dont judge me, I was a teen back then ^^' Also my friend went crazy, because he could not for the love of god understand, why I would set up my house in this village. I didnt know either, I just thought its a nice place.
Don't blame youself. I don't think you're the only one who went "where do I drop off all my junk?" and made space for themselves. I also did something similar in my first playthrough, then I felt bad and downloaded a mod to own the house of someone you can legally kill, but depending how long ago you did this it might have not been available.
Wow, this video made me fall in love with morrowind one more time. It just makes me so sad that all of this fantastic world will be gone in a few years. I almost want to pretend the red year won't happen.
I've been playing Morrowind since I was like 3, and even all the stuff you go through is news to me sometimes. Your stuff has been a genuine treat to see whenever you upload, and I find myself rewatching some of it here and there. You make good stuff, BK, and as a lifelong Morrowind enthusiast, your content and subject matters are what I've been wanting from Elder Scrolls content on YT for *EVER*. Keep it up, lad. :)
You know, I've been playing Morrowind for years. I never knew about Hrordis or the whole Dark Brotherhood presence in Pelagiad. The game's world truly feels endless sometimes. Thank you for the video!
These videos are always made with such passion and attention to detail. I love how you can pick apart all these secrets and stories from one of my fav games of all time Alek.
Splendid video..! Pelagiad always had a certain mistique ✨️ loved the subtle foreshadowing of the Oblivion crisis, it never crossed my mind during visits to Pelagiad 🤯
Nice video! It is true that i always just did a little exploring for first tine there and then never return. I would love to see the northern city as video too! I believe it is dagon fell? I like it for its distant place on island ... there are no of these vvardenfell problems.
I love in Morrowind if u play the fighters and thieves guild quest lines at the same time u can get secret dialogue from the head of the thieves guild about it. Sense in the game both guilds are hostile to the each other
I visited Pelagiad quite a bit, as I had a mod house there back in the day. Now a place I only ever visited once and forgot about would be Molag Mar. I remember being surprised to find it was relatively big when I finally did go to it. I was expecting another Khuul or Gnisis.
Great video! I love how all these characters that just seems to be there to fill a space have a story to tell. If you're asking for suggestions about other settlements, I would love to see a video about the Bitter Coast shanty towns.
That was a very interesting and entertaining video. I always liked Pelagiad as it feels comfortably familiar as you noted. Another town that would be interesting to get the low down on would be Caldera. I like both these towns' aesthetics and they seem to be plainly what they are--new Imperial charter towns or garrisons--but there is a bit more to it than what's written on the tin.
Just got into Morrowind this year man and i´m so hooked, just started a playthrough following your modlist, is a shame that is such a niche game now, you deserve more subscribers for sure..
So well done! So many details here I probably would have never picked up on. I think Hla Oad has a similar vibe. A little peaceful village outside of all the noise of politics and destiny, but there is definitely some shady stuff going on underneath the surface. One of the things I always found weird is that there is a Khajiit named Ra'Zhid inside Fatleg's drop off, which of course houses the cammona tong underneath a trap door. Ra'Zhid is not a slave and apparently part of the smuggling operation. I wonder if he is just a front, a token for the guards to not inquire any further into this "trade house". Cammona tong are nationalist and racist and yet they seemingly employ this Khajjit in Hla Oad. It's little details like this that make Morrowind stand out in terms of its lore and world building.
Pelagiad is definetively one of my favourite little settlements, I know it's supposed to be generic but I really like Morrowind's take on Western High Rock-Cyrodillic styles.
Great video! Do a series for all towns with Vivec being the last. Also, Is that the proper way to pronounce the town name? I have always pronouced it a different way...I could be wrong.
I wasn't sure about the pronounciation but there's a voiced guard dialogue "what do you think of Pelagiad?" and it's pronounced like that. I'll cover more towns, already did Suran few months ago.
Outstanding trip down memory lane. Peligrad is always a fav stop of mine (I choose to walk rather than ride to Balmora.) Would you believe I found that dwemer artifact in my first playthru. Came in handy for a certain guild quest and it set me up to live on the streets of Balmora. I stashed all manner of goodies in the towns roadside crates just in case the thieves guild requested it. It was a short jump to decorating the town, and eventually Cassius'.
Pelagiad and Suran are my two favorite towns in the game. Caldera and Dagon Fel, are the next places I like. Never really realized some of the interesting stuff going on for the town. I knew something strange was going on, but usually decided to leave it as a mystery 😀lol
I completely misread the title and read it as PelagiDAD, thinking it was a video essay on one of the Pelagius emperors. Imagine my surprise when the video was a bout a town lol. Excellent video regardless.
i would wager that Pelagiad was intended to be the starting town for new characters earlier in development, just the fact that yggfa has topics about character attributes, i never seen any other npc with topics like that
As a kid pelegiad was always the town with nothing at all doing on but it was cool because there's no fast travel there. Beneath the surface there's more going on. My playthroughs have been mostly surface level with no over analyzing, but another town I noticed not much going on was maar gan. They have the church with the daedra and that's all. At least on the surface. Maybe there isn't anything going on but if there is it could make a good vid.
It's all mixed up. Nordic iron cuirass I picked up somewhere on the Mainland (Tamriel Rebuilt), imperial steel greaves, steel pauldrons & boots and silver claymore. P.S. I think nordic iron cuirass exists in vanilla too.
Kill the khajiit or argonion living in the house further out of town take his home and drop mark so you can recall back whenever you want and if you cast almsivi intervention in or around the house you'll end up in Balmora instant access to a home and hub city makes the game ez
The idea of an Ashlander Language is nice. It's one of those things I missed from Daggerfall going onwards. Where Daggerfall actually had a lot of different "Speechcraft" skills. Etiquette which helped with Nobles and Merchants, Streetwise which helped with Peasants and Criminals, then minor languages like Daedric, Nymph, Dragonish, Giantish, etc. Including like I did in my last run, being able to even resolve quests through them (Fighter's Guild sent me to kill a Giant but I apparently passed a Giantish Check and got to talk to them and convince them to leave instead of just outright murder). It's one of those things I'd love to see come back. Gives some much needed Roleplay in that not only can you have alternate solutions to quests (like with that Giant for me in Daggerfall), but it also lets you better define and play your character. Are you being some British Tourist basically who when confronted with Natives thinks that speaking your language Slower, Louder, and with Arm Gestures will make them magically understand you? Or are you struggling because you only know some passing phrases and aren't fluent? Did you pick up fluency in something like Nymph and why? Do you speak like an Aristocrat or a Peasant? Etc. But I guess the reference in Morrowind to that one NPC is the last we're going to see if Speech skills being more interesting.
Can we just give props to the professional lvl of editing this man has? That opening has actual movie vibes too it. Dude is on the same teir as fudgemuppet or theepicnate
Those guys are in their own league, but thanks!
@@boreanknight everyone starts somewhere, don't count yourself short just yet.
@@boreanknightBroski your writing and speaking is on point, any elder scrolls enthusiast who lands on your channel will love your work
Agree the opening was next level
Also don't forget that according to a certain kajit the town is run by mudcrabs.
This city/town un-depth analysis needs to be expanded to more areas, both in Vvardenfell and TR.
That's the plan for sure!
I always looked at it like Primm in New Vegas: its very close to the start point, has few quests, had many more pre-release and beta content and importance, but today it just exists in game, to be seen once and almost forgotten.

New Borean Knight! I'm here for it! The man keeping the old school alive
Ygfa is actually part of the bouilles bowl quest
One of my favorite little towns. Most playthroughs I walk to Balmora now and always make my way through the Pelagiad area.
Huge fan of your videos, you perfectly capture how your imagination fills the gaps to create something larger than the sum of the game's parts.

Absolutely fantastic video
These are literally some of my favourite videos to watch
You know, I've been playing Morrowind for years. I never knew about Hrordis or the whole Dark Brotherhood presence in Pelagiad. The game's world truly feels endless sometimes. Thank you for the video!
I bloody love those videos! Morrowind was so deep and hearing that score and those place names feels like coming home.
I didn't know about Ahnassi's "relationship". I love Morrowind, always something new to learn.
I always watch your videos before a game session or while just washing dishes or something. Thank you for your efforts.
Always was my favorite town. It's the layout and surroundings that always spoke to me.
These videos are always made with such passion and attention to detail. I love how you can pick apart all these secrets and stories from one of my fav games of all time Alek.
I was just catching up on some videos i missed and today i get blasted with a morrowind one. nice
Splendid video..! Pelagiad always had a certain mistique ✨️ loved the subtle foreshadowing of the Oblivion crisis, it never crossed my mind during visits to Pelagiad 🤯

I love Dagon Fel and that region, will cover it for sure!
It's always a great day when BK uploads. Thanks again, and cheers into the weekend!

You make me wish for a Pelagiad mod that explores the conspiracy at the Halfway Tavern.
Great video! I love how all these characters that just seems to be there to fill a space have a story to tell.
If you're asking for suggestions about other settlements, I would love to see a video about the Bitter Coast shanty towns.
Really enjoying watching everything you've out out newest from oldest, thanks dooud.
Thank you for this!
A 3:30 minute intro? Amazing....

I’m actually replaying morrowind right now so I’ll go check it out.
Morrowind lore vids with awesome b-roll in-game editing? This might be my new favorite channel.
Just got into Morrowind this year man and i´m so hooked, just started a playthrough following your modlist, is a shame that is such a niche game now, you deserve more subscribers for sure..

bless YT algorithm for recommending me this channel :)
Pelagiad is definetively one of my favourite little settlements, I know it's supposed to be generic but I really like Morrowind's take on Western High Rock-Cyrodillic styles.
I've always found it odd that there's no travel to Pelagiad, that's why I rarely go there
Great video! Do a series for all towns with Vivec being the last. Also, Is that the proper way to pronounce the town name? I have always pronouced it a different way...I could be wrong.

Anonnnnn new Borean Knight video just dropped!
Another stellar work from BK. One of life's simplest yet greatest pleasures. Keep it up!

I always loved Pelagiad when I played this game as a kid. Not once have I taken the Silt Strider to Balmora.
Pelagiad and Suran are my two favorite towns in the game. Caldera and Dagon Fel, are the next places I like. Never really realized some of the interesting stuff going on for the town. I knew something strange was going on, but usually decided to leave it as a mystery 😀lol

interesting NPCs mod makes Plegiad alot of fun
Wow, that was great! Thank You very much!
Pelagiad is a town that i've litteraly never stayed more than 3 second , so its gonna be a big discovery
Comment for the algo
Keep going Knight!
Dropping by to say hi and to tell you that I typed your name in , to see what new stuff is up. Glad to see the channell blooming
Hi from Italy. I used to be a home in Pelagiad and also a mod with anm Emperors Library (old mod) very beatiful and also with quest intro.
Everyone thinks of Balmorra as being the center of the game. But gor me, its always been Pelagiad.
i would wager that Pelagiad was intended to be the starting town for new characters earlier in development, just the fact that yggfa has topics about character attributes, i never seen any other npc with topics like that

Fuck yeah! Awesome video my friend, you did a good one 🇷🇸
Bravo brother
Love the look of yours character, what armor are you wearing?
It's all mixed up. Nordic iron cuirass I picked up somewhere on the Mainland (Tamriel Rebuilt), imperial steel greaves, steel pauldrons & boots and silver claymore.
P.S. I think nordic iron cuirass exists in vanilla too.
Another great video, BK.
Personally, I don't trust the small fishing villages like Khuul or Hla Oad.
Is that his loincloth or is dagon packing that heat.
Both I think.
Kill the khajiit or argonion living in the house further out of town take his home and drop mark so you can recall back whenever you want and if you cast almsivi intervention in or around the house you'll end up in Balmora instant access to a home and hub city makes the game ez
The most (rated M for mature) townlet in Tamriel 😂
Always treat Morrowind like Rolston, Kuhlmann, Goodall, Kirkbride, Peterson, et al read The Book of the New Sun.
Okay fine. I’ll play Morrowind lol
Algorithm
ehm into not intro....
