I read a book one time back in the early to mid eighties I’m guessing, anyway the title was Calling Coyotes and other Predators by Rick Jameson. If I recall correctly, I know it’s only been nearly 40 years and I only read it once, a coyote could hear a noise from a range of one mile and have the noise pinpoint to within three feet. Technically not nightvision. Which is why the cows and coyotes stick out as a bright white color compared to the field, shrubs, fencing etc around them. You can also use these during the day time whereas nightvision is completely unusable during the day as it over-brightens everything to the point where you're just looking at a bright blurry screen

Many years ago when I lived in Canada I had a house in a rural area which backed on to a farm. The farmhouse was about 500 m away. The farmer raised cattle. In the same field he had a donkey and a mule. They were quite effective against coyotes. Even so, I often heard coyotes coming out of the forest near my home. I would phone the farmer, even in the middle of the night, to tell him there were coyotes on the prowl. Shortly after there would be bang-bang from the farm.
Donkeys & mules bond with the herd and protect them. Donkeys have been known to kill wild boars, coyotes, wolfs, and bobcats. They are not be messed with. However, 65 coyotes would be overwhelming for 1 or 2 donkeys.

I lived on a Ranch in Georgia back in 93-95' back when I was 13-15 years of age, I was a pretty small kid maybe 115lbs soaking wet. This Ranch had a lot of Black Angus cattle and they would sometimes become victims of Coyotes. Anyway, one day a buddy and I decided to go camping back in the woods at this Ranch. We pitched a tent, had a fire going and eventually went back into the tent to sleep. My buddy feel asleep pretty fast, I on the other hand stayed awake and endured a pretty horrendous night due to a pack of Coyotes right outside our campsite. At the time being only 13 year of age (maybe 115lbs max.) I was scared shitless.. I thought any moment those Coyotes would tear our tent down and proceed to attack us. I didn't wake up my friend just endured the living nightmare myself. The Coyotes eventually took off but they were there for hours and I've never forgot that night. Anyway, a one shot kill is the most humane way to take care of this problem. It's can be hard to watch as we humans generally have such a close relationship with dogs (I have a ~ 10lb Long-haired Chihuahua (Micky) whom I love to death) but you got to do what you got to do when they are killing your livestock.
I had a similar thing happen in Alabama. Went camping on a friends property. There was a bad storm coming and we could hear the coyotes howling then eventually coming to the campsite. The wind knocked the tents over eventually. With my friend being injured before the trip, he gave me his gun and asked me to fix the tents. First time holding a gun too. If it wasnt for the hot women that were with us on this trip, i probably would have shat myself lol. Man that storm hit hard too, making the thought of coyotes and bears much harsher everytime the tent swayed lol.

This is a heck of alot more accurate, AND SAFE, than driving around in the back of a pickup truck, eye glow spotting with a spotlight and then trying to aim & shoot!!! This is the method they need to used for destructive and dangerous feral hogs!!!
Do hogs actively attack livestock? Even just a few hundred years ago the largest hog was as large as a small dog today, and was bred bigger like sheep and cattle. They used to be much smaller than sheep even, now they nearly as big or certain species are bigger or as large as them. Funnily cats were bred smaller and used to be larger than pigs. Anyways, Hogs belong on a stick hanging above an open flame to make sausages and accompany the turkey in the Christmas Dinner 😂 or rashers and ham, altho besides sausages I don't like any other pig meat (pepperoni is also nice actually, so they also belong on pizza!!)
Interesting comments from both sides of this video, however i was raised in the country and have seen how livestock can be reduced by predators. Even the most anti hunting person would pick up a gun after time and start culling.. Need balance
Balance... Interesting, so let's think about why we have some kind of "imbalance" first? And why only killing all the others to get back to "balance". And then, look at the definition of balance.
@Nothing Mate Wow, so this is your justification? Let's do it like this because we have done it since ages? How, do you think, will the future look like if we "solve" problems like this? I just want you to think about the problem in a different kind of way. You know why? Because it's not just black and white or right and wrong, it is more complex. But this is, well it seems like this, what you will never understand. I am fine with that, most of the people think / act like you, that's why we have a lot of problems on earth (Regardless of the video here). Back to video: Well, maybe the only solution is to kill them (I doubt this) but you can only come to this conclusion after checking all other alternatives. And here is the tricky part: You can't solve problems with the same mindset which provoke them. But this is exactly what you do and additional to that, you rate the life of humans and animals which are "made" for humans way higher than all other lifeforms. And here we do have a contradiction to the definition of balance, what was mentioned before. You know, humans are very impressive and can do a lot of wonderful things but they also have the dignity of choice. If you combine this with a very limited mindset, egoism and lack of social understandment you turn humans into something very bad. Like you for example, why do you think killing something without any question is the only solution for this? Remember, you have the dignity of choice, why not something else?

Technically not nightvision. Which is why the cows and coyotes stick out as a bright white color compared to the field, shrubs, fencing etc around them. You can also use these during the day time whereas nightvision is completely unusable during the day as it over-brightens everything to the point where you're just looking at a bright blurry screen

In our region, we protect vegetables from wild boars. They are huge 200- 400 pound boars. We had to use . 357 Magnum to take them out. We take out 3 to 5 boars per day and we bring the to the local slaughterhouse. We skin it first by the way. Have it pre-cut and we bring it to our meat guy to sell it. Sometimes, we bring the best parts to the local restaurants for their night dining. It's good business and it covers our education.
Everyone wins
A win win situation indeed. I like that the boar meat is put to good use
@@akiraakira8469 true! It's a win win. Boar meat is expensive. When we skin and take out unwanted parts, we end up with 157lbs or 210lbs of high quality meat. We sell it 2.5lbs fresh per $48 compared to the 2.5lbs per $75 frozen in groceries. Sometimes, chefs even give us extra for the quality and taste. That's why we like our part-time job because it's high paying. Vegans in the town criticize us but we slap them on the hand by telling them "without us, you won't be eating your veggies." Cops laughed when we said that. Anyways, thank you for understanding our role.

@@TakingMoreChances incendiary rounds lmao, no there's multiple shooters.
Those who say the farmer is slaughtering them. His shots are clean and accurate to take the down just about immediately. He’s protecting his cattle, which range from 2k-5k each. Would you sit back and watch as tens of thousands of dollars are killed by coyotes, or would you step in? The answer is obvious, so don’t blame him for “slaughtering them.”

I was expecting a different response to this but I’m surprised we still have people living in the real world . It is sad but a necessity no farmer wants to lose livestock this way thank god we don’t have coyotes in my country
Stop eating meat! Problem solved. That’s inhumane and disgusting. People have dogs that are raised with the livestock. They can be used too.
If he has the money to get thermal vision, then he has the money for other things like better fences, a guard dog, etc. Don't excuse this act. The fact that these many wolves/coyotes popped up shows how no effort was put into better fence security. This guy enjoys harming animals for fun.
Sounds like someone doesn't know how cattle fences work you can't make them too high because you still got to let wild animals through them you can't just put them up like at a zoo because your fences are regulated by law

This is a heck of alot more accurate, AND SAFE, than driving around in the back of a pickup truck, eye glow spotting with a spotlight and then trying to aim & shoot!!! This is the method they need to used for destructive and dangerous feral hogs!!!
this is what majority do
They do. I seen some vids on YT. Guys going straight up Predator on em with the night vision and thermal.

Need balance
Most definitely agree!
Balance... Interesting, so let's think about why we have some kind of "imbalance" first? And why only killing all the others to get back to "balance". And then, look at the definition of balance.
7:15 make him bleed, make him call for help, set the trap and kill those who come. he is the Predator of coyotes!
