5:53 love the V sus to I 6/4 slide down to V on "place". brilliant and 10x better because barbershop tuning
I don't understand a thing you said, but I like it even more because I appreciate them too.
0:46 my right ear loves this part :)
That is an extremely difficult and lengthy arrangement and these guys achieved what very, very, very few in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD could pull off-- And, It was incredibly entertaining, lyrical, musical, and an absolutely wonderful performance. Thanks VS guys!! Don't listen to the naysayers-- they just can't fathom, let alone appreciate, all that goes into performing a medley like this and in the way you all consistently do! LOVE YOUR MUSIC!
Mary Milian okay I have a quartet of my own, bet we can do this in three months time
Didn't say others can't do it... of course they can.... but don't think they can execute it at the high level of musicality, expression, artistry and showmanship at which VS performs it.
My school's choir program had a barbershop quartet that performed this, it was absolutely amazing both times (There and Here).
Wowsers!!! I was in the 2nd row and was blown away. The first time I heard this, I figured it was hard enough nobody would ever try it live, but man, oh man! Thank you guys. You are nothing short of amazing. (Would it be bad form to end every sentence with an exclamation point?!!!!)
I love how you can hear every part! It just goes to show even if you haven't done this in a while, they can still keep the harmony tight!
Coming from Harmony Incorporated’s Unaccompanied Minors, I love this quartet!
Nice. And the "we're halfway done" made me rofl. :D Good sounds guys, and the ending. Keep it up, gj!
Excellent job VS - most people have no idea the difficulty of singing this - most people that would criticize could not do 1/10 of the job.
I've been fascinated by the complexity and the variations of their various parts.
The musical composition is extraordinary as well as being entirely unprecedented. Hats off to a better than excellent presentation.
I come back and listen to this marvelous accomplishment every so often. Hasn't lost a thing. Hoping it will soon gather far more than the 142,000 views it has so far.
Phenomenal performance. I was lucky enough to attend!
CONGRATS GUYS! That was a fantastic performance, the huge ovation at the end a testament to your talent even when under the weather. Despite difficulties and a couple of mistakes, both the tenor and lead experiences voice cracks and difficulty in the higher register, that was a fantastic performance that demonstrates your true talent as a quartet. I mean this honestly when I say that even when performing like this you are still one of the best quartets in the world. Honestly, I couldn't believe how the lead kept going given the enormous strain the arrangement was putting on him. Congrats to the bass and bari too, for keeping it all on track - I'm a bass and I know how it can be keeping a quartet on the right lines.
A Standard Commenter I actually had a tic tac in my throat and had to swallow, haha
wow it was a pretty long comment huh... I just wanted to counter some of the nasty comments I was seeing. I've had personal experience when a live barbershop performance goes wrong and it really feels shitty, especially if people are immediately critical.
Eric Dalbey I am not worthy! XD Well tic tacs can be devious... congrats all the same, love you guys.
The chord on 7:01 is the BEST!
I SAW THIS LIVE AND IT WAS AMAZING!
holy smokes y'all!!!!!! So darn good! Chris's comment was hilarious, and Tim Waurick what a solid note held at the end!!!! Still one of the best quartets in the society!
Just a fabulous performance! Beautiful voices and such strong chords!
In this comment section:
"[Token praise], as a [person], I understand [how to give a back-handed compliment]"
Is that Tim Waurick?! He's incredible! Love his channel! 😊
Beautiful. It's great to be a barbershopper!
One of my absolute favourite Vocal Spectrum songs - brilliantly sung! I am so glad you have kept this in the repertoire! Tim - your keynote speech was fabulous - heartfelt and honest! As for that post at the end......woohoo!!
These guys need to be in the reboot
ABSOLUTELY SOOOOOO FANTASTIC; YOU SING LIKE ANGELS!!!! are You???
I saw this live at The BHS Midwinter Convention 2k18! I literally cried.
I just came from Where’ve you been from masterpiece and I’ve been ugly crying for a while
This is what I needed :)
Love seeing the guys perform probably my favorite quartet ever. Tim with the crazy post only wish i could post that long i try but i always come up short ig thats why he is a champion he isnt a scrub he is a pro. Thanks for the video loved it!!
Great!
Yessss!!!!!! Omg this is EXACTLY what I needed today. You guys killed it!
How on EARTH did that Tenor hold that note for so long?!
Patton Gilbert You should see the quarter Ringmasters. They do a Hunchback of Notre Dame medley that is just amazing.
The second tag in that one is truly outrageous. It shouldn't be possible.
Watch their video of Cruella DeVille... Tim (the tenor) holds a note for 38 and 1:02.... the man is a machine.

A guy who lived next door to them in college
You ain't seen nothing until you've seen the post he does on their version of Smile. That's a solid 27 post on some performances and the dude isn't even breaking a sweat.
It’s always kind of frustrating when quartets don’t cut their tags short while their poster is running out of air to sing. Tim sounded good in spite of all the odds stacked against him though.
The tag love it
OMFG
The post at the end!!!
😀😃👏👏👏👏
6:53!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't even remember watching you before let alone subscribing to you but good job boys!
Bravo
This is so amazing, but I think the audio mix is the wrong way around, the left sound is coming out the right speaker
Sound guy, what the hell happened at 0:45.
its crazy, i was there
Better than the CGI remake
I wrote this out from listening (to a different performance of the same song) but I don't think there are any mistakes. Towards the end I couldn't make out a couple of things though, which are clearly marked. Thumbs up if this was useful!
As-Salaam and good day to you! Do you want to hear the story of Aladdin and his lamp? A desert tale of a young boy, a princess he loves, and a genie who makes all his wishes come true.
Oh I come from a land, from a faraway place
Where the caravan camels roam
Where it's flat and immense
And the heat is intense
It's barbaric! But hey, it's home.
When the wind's from the east
And the sun's from the west
And the sand in the glass is right
Come on down, stop on by
Hop a carpet and fly
To another Arabian night
Arabian nights
Like Arabian days
More often than not are hotter than hot
In a lot of good ways
Arabian nights
'Neath Arabian moons (so bright the desert moons)
A fool off his guard could fall and fall hard
Out there on the dunes
So, gotta keep,
One jump ahead of the breadline
One swing ahead of the sword
I steal only what I can't afford (That's Everything!)
One jump ahead of the lawmen
That's all, and that's no joke
These guys don't appreciate I'm broke (That boy is such a lousy)
Riffraff! Street rat! Scoundrel! Take that!
Just a little snack, guys
Rip him open, take it back, guys
Gotta steal to eat, gotta eat to live
Otherwise we'd get along, wow wow wow! Wa-ha-ha...
Well Ali Baba had them forty thieves
Scheherezad-ie had a thousand tales
But master you in luck 'cause up your sleeves
You got a brand of magic never fails
You got some power in your corner now
Some heavy ammunition in your camp
You got some punch, pizzazz, yahoo and how
Well all you gotta do is rub that lamp
And I'll say Mister Aladdin, sir
What will your pleasure be?
Let me take your order, Jot it down
You ain't never had a friend like me (oh yeah)
Mister Aladdin, sir, have a wish or two or three
I'm on the job, you big nabob
You ain't never had a friend, never had a friend
You ain't never had a friend, never had a friend
You ain't never had a friend like me
(oh my wa-ha-ha, no not a friend like me)
Now, Make way for Prince Ali
Say hey, here he comes!
Ring bells! Bang the drums!
Are you gonna love this guy!
Prince Ali! Fabulous he!
Ali Ababwa
Genuflect, show some respect
Down on one knee!
Now, try your best to stay calm
Brush up your sunday salaam
Then come and meet his spectacular coterie
Prince Ali!
Amorous he! Ali Ababwa
Heard your princess was a sight lovely to see
And that, good people, is why he got dolled up and dropped by
With sixty elephants, llamas galore
With his bears and lions
A brass band and more
With his forty fakirs, his cooks, his bakers
His birds that warble on key
Make way for Prince Ali!
- We're half way done -
Woooooow, waaaaa, oooo.
I can show you the world
Shining, shimmering splendid
Tell me, princess, now when did
You last let your heart decide?
Oh, I can open your eyes
Take you wonder by wonder
Over sideways and under
On a magic carpet ride
A whole new world
A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us no
Or where to go
Or say we're only dreaming
A whole new world
A dazzling place I never knew
But when I'm way up here
It's crystal clear
That now I'm in a whole new world with you
A whole new world (A whole new world)
That's where we'll be (That's where we'll be)
A thrilling chase
A wondrous place
For you and me (I can show you those) unbelievable sights!
Arabian nights, Like Arabian days
Much more often than not are hotter than hot
In a lot of good ways (?such days and nights?)
Arabian nights, 'Neath Arabian moons (the shining desert moon)
A fool off his guard could fall and fall hard
Out there on the dunes (such days)
So ?many? many ways
Unspeakable sounds (unspeakable sounds)
Arabian nights and sights
Stars so bright (under those)
Wonderous Arabian Nights!
This has been viewed from so few people, 'cause one thousand views is just mine.
incredibox actors
at 1m the audio goes to the right i legit thought my speakers broke lol
Ok that tag at the end holy cow
They don’t seem to be in the key written during “A Whole New World” sounds low to me. But honestly the change in timbre is so nice in the key 😍 nice recovery guys!
THAT TAG WAS OFF THE CHAIN
It sounded low to me, too. But then I checked on piano, and they sing it in G-flat and then G, which are both higher than the original which is in D and F. I think it's more the arrangement is lower at first, to give them room to take it up in the second part.
I do miss the smooth modulation in the original, though. But it was probably considered too slow for a medley.
Nice performance but the sound issue was irritating and unfortunate, there is only like one other live recording of this and its in bad quality :(
Big fan of the bass, love his sound and since my range seems to match his (at least judging from the performances i've seen), I enjoy singing along^^
Okay never mind then lol he got me hopelessly beaten on the G#4 :D
But I do enjoy singing along with him^^
The G#4 is at 1:53 in "They Just Keep Moving The Line" on their newest album. If you're curious.
pman5595 - what part of the song? I’ve listened to that a million times by now
tim、髪の毛増えた?
Somehow there was no dynamic..
They could have done WAYYYY better
Im not saying they sounded bad but ive heard them sing this piece way better
Demon Voice I didnt say they didnt do good but I feel like they could have done better I heard them do better. Not that I didnt enjoy the performance but I think they could have done better
I don’t see anything wrong with this performance I thought it was great, what were the things they could’ve done better? They RANG chords out there extremely well and Tim of course is always awesome, nailed the post, it was just an awesome performance all around. THAT to me was Vocal Spectrum, not “they can do better” they did GREAT.
Absolutely love Tim’s line into his final note
