My swiss boyfriend actually thought for long time that Poland is wild and dangerous. He was worrying sick when I was going out with friends and coming back home after 3 am. But then he moved in with me when I was back in Poznań for a year and a half. He was shocked. He said that everything they say about Poland in west Europe is not true (apart from ladies being beautiful xD). In fact he said Poland is much safer than Switzerland. Isn't it bizarre? ;)
Lubię oglądać Twoje filmy, masz porównanie Polski do swojej ojczyzny. Z niektórymi "zaletami", które wymieniłeś nie do końca bym się zgodził ale- cieszy, że doceniasz wiele aspektów życia tutaj, w Polsce mając porównanie do bogatych- w porównaniu z Polską- Stanów. Ten film można zadedykować wszystkim tym Polakom, którzy uważają, że "w Polsce to wszystko jest źle, a w całej reszcie świata jest dobrze!" Choć u nas w kraju nie dzieje się dobrze ani ostatnio, ani dawniej i wciąż resztki komuny trzymają się nas niczym psie fekalia przylepione do butów- to dzięki Tobie (między innymi) wiemy, że nie jesteśmy tacy źli jak próbują nam wmówić różni popularni w mediach marksiści kulturowi. Fajnie by było, gdyby Twoja twórczość dotarła do większej liczby odbiorców i w Polsce i poza nią.

My w Polsce tez mamy z tym problem mimo że do krajów zachodnich nam brakuje to jako taki dobrobyt i wygodne życie jednak mamy. W końcu piszemy te posty w wygodnym fotelu przed monitorem objadając się do roztycia :) .

Man, I'm a Pole from Upper Siliesia region and I discovered your channel today in work (I know I supposed to do something else in work). You inspired me so much that you literally "stealed all my day" (be ashame of) because until now (20:20) I'm watching your videos being home. You said that one of the things you hate about America is blind patriotism. You are the proof to the fact that not all Amercians are so blindly "in love" in America. To be honest I've never been in USA, I simply can't afford it but I love it. However what I love about America is not how it actually "works" right now in the meaning of politics, healthcare, education, work, etc.... that's actually sucks. What I love about America is the concept of freedom, huge - almost empty - territories like Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, fantastic national parks, etc. However, as you said (maybe not directly) this phenomenal potencial is kinda wasted by stupid govt. and law. To be honest same things goes to Russia but this of course is completelly different topic. Anyway I'm kind of person who tries (sometimes naive) to find possitives about any part of the World. And I'm very glad and proud that you see Poland, my homeland to be a place to live, futher more as I understand you see it as your own homeland. You can't even imagine how my heart grows in my chest right now. What can I say..... be happy here, and if you ever be in Upper Silesia (Górny Śląsk, Katowice region) I would be more than happy if you contact me and we could hang out together.

According to the OECD World Education Rank Poland is Ranked 5th in Europe and 11th Globally, whereas the UK is 20th.
And having experienced both system I have to agree with that, especially when it comes to early education schools.

Hi @Kult America. I really enjoy your videos. I can tell you put a lot of hard work in them and how passionate you are. Therefore I have a little suggestion for a video. You know, there is this one American - Richard Marsden a fencing instructor that is fascinated in polish history.
He started a research about polish sabre fencing style and he recently published a book about polish sabre. He's also trying to promote polish history. Wouldn't he make a perfect target for an interview?

Przyznaję się do błędu. Niezamierzenie stałam się jedną z osób, co poprawiają cudze błędy bez głębszego zastanowienia.

Jest jakiś klimat w Twoich filmikach, może to spokój i to że nie poddajesz się emocjom - co jest tak częste u nas. jednocześnie jest w tym jakaś tajemnica, co powoduje że ten spokój i umiarkowanie nie jest nużące.
Myślę, że myślenie Polaków o Polsce zmieniło się diametralnie ostatnio. Większość wie, że żyjemy w wyjątkowym kraju i stara się dbać o niego. Jeśli chodzi o narkomanów i bezpieczeństwo na ulicach to myślę, że jest ok. Jedynie teraz jesteśmy trochę przeczuleni na punkcie obcych i czasem zostaną zaczepieni lub pobici ze względu na to co się dzieje w tzw. starej Europie i też w niektórych państwach na Ziemi. Nie chcemy tego mieć u siebie, bo wiemy z czym to się wiąże. Myślę, że system edukacji mamy dobry. Zawsze mógłby być lepszy. Na pewno wielu krajom nie pasuje nasz rozwój, sposób życia i myślenia. Mamy wielu wrogów i przeciwników, ale mam nadzieję, że Bóg da też właściwych przyjaciół. Oczywiście nie całe społeczeństwo myśli jednomyślnie, ale coś w tych Polakach jest jednak. Nie uważam, że jesteśmy jakoś super wyjątkowi, bo inne nacje też są niegłupie, ale kulturowo, sposobem myślenia i postrzegania świata jesteśmy podobni raczej do wschodu, Ukraina, nawet Turcja. W Turcji nigdy nie byłem osobiście, ale oglądałem filmik pewnego youtubera, Mocny Vlog z wycieczki do Turcji i to niesamowicie kolorowy kraj i szybko rozwijający się, a ludzie z tego co widziałem podobni do Polaków trochę mentalnie, życzliwi. Ogólnie to staram się porównywać różne nacje do Polaków i właśnie z tego co obserwowałem blisko nam nawet chyba do Kubańczyków, a daleko mentalnie do Niemców, czy Francuzów, ogólnie Zachodniej Europy.

Just a little thing about schools. Coming from someone who went to school in Poland up to "Matura" and is now teaching in the UK. Schools in Poland are very tough on children- they will bring an unbelievable amount of work from school (from year 4), children who don't keep up do not get the support they should get, but often are labelled as thick and mocked by teachers. A lot of teachers use their authoritative power. Children with SEND- even mild/insignificant- are marginalised and educated away from their peers, often on a one-to-one basis at home and have a limited choice of integration classes to go to at the later stages. Many teachers make pupils feel stupid and there is often no way of complaining about a teacher if they do wrong. I am not saying all teachers in Poland are like that, I have also had a handful of fantastic teachers, one of whom made me want to choose teaching as a career. What I am trying to say is 1- compared to the UK system, the Polish one is too harsh and power-based rather than student-centred; 2- I don't know what age your kids are, but I'm assuming under 10, having watched some of your videos; it is very likely that you will look at the education system differently as they get older. It is based on memorising, spoon-fed knowledge and work much harder than necessary, not reflected in understanding.
I am sorry about such a pessimistic view point, but education of my children is one of the reasons I would never go back to Poland. All the best to you :)

Brytyjczycy nie są muzycznie utalentowani tylko mają potężny przemysł rozrywkowy-muzyczny, tam produkcja zespołów i piosenkarzy jest po prostu przemysłowa, wytwórnie płytowe inwestują w taki zespół miliony, w jego kompozycje i płyty (tabuny kompozytorów PRowców, którzy dbają też, żeby stworzyć wrażenie, że taka kapela to pełen spontan i odlot, a ten "spontan" to też produkt marketingowy stworzony przez wytwórnię). To tak jakby ktoś widząc niemieckie samochody powiedział, że Niemcy są technicznie utalentowani :) i każdy coś tam w garażu konstruuje :)

Damn! More than 50 yrs. after "Johny B Goode" and it seems like no one figured it out how to solve this problem...
Well it was pretty simple for me because when an unknown artist continues to age, and at the same time chase a dream which is not going to come true, they run the risk of becoming terribly pathetic - I didn't want to be that way.
1). You left United States, as I understood, because of american (lack of) culture. You admit that You are distancing yourself from it, but for me, from what you wrote, appears that You've tried to fulfill the basic myth of american culture - "The American Dream". You know, achieving certain goal at certain age - if not, that's it, it's done. So, I am a little bit confused.
2). I think Americans are very musical, certainly more than Poles, perhaps even than Europeans. I heard many american bands and artists, known and unknown and they always appear to be outstanding technically but somehow limited at the same time. I mean, in broader context american culture seems to me very labelized. Everything has to be arranged and put in a particular drawer, that also affects the music, so if you play rock it has to be rock and nothing else, if you play R&B it has to be R&B and nothing else, if hip-hop it has to be hip-hop in 100%. Hmm... this bussines model is good to do... bussines, or to learn certain technical details, but not to do creative stuff such as composing music. Why? Because of very simple reason, if you play indie rock, you have to compete with Weezer, if you play R&B, you have to compete with Aretha Franklin... etc. etc. In other words, if you tryin' to follow tidy trail of some music genre, you are already lost, because those people done it earlier and better. What you really need to do is step out of the box and, if imperfect language of words can describe the creative process, create own style, but I mean by that almost inventing a new genre. Mashing up music of different artists, mixing, "destroying" rules, trying out odd solutions... etc.
So, my point is that in general people too often want easy way by following (someone's) tidy trail, and giving up to early if the "magic" formula for success doesn't work, instead of leaving comfort zone and risking inventing something by themselfs.

You picked the wrong place to live in England, Portsmouth has never been a friendly city to live in. It was recently voted the 2nd most unfriendly city in England.
Poland is a great country though and so are the other Slavic countries in that region like Ukraine, Czechia and Slovakia. I think that people are on the whole friendlier in these countries as opposed to people in the West, because they are less spoilt. In the West people have become much mote money oriented and selfish. In these Slavic countries they have much stronger family values, which is to be respected.

Wszystko zależy od tego gdzie w USA mieszkasz ? Nie każdy stan ma dobrą edukacje publiczną ,następnie nawet w stanie który ma dobrą edukacje publiczną zdarzają się dzielnice ze słabymi szkołami, tak więc nie można USA porównać do Polski pod tym względem.
Z sieci zapewne można wygrzebać ranking w tym temacie.

I worked whith poles while living in UK. They have an hypocryte behaviour. They think they are superior compared to arabs,africans or indians. They do not work well in team with colleagues from other nationalities. They are always find an oportunity to have advantage on someone. Their work performance are really poor. And in most of the cases they are liar. But who cares, they are not muslins, and that is what matters. Islam is not the problem. The probelm is the countries that do not have hard laws agains terrorism.
So, dear poles, do not judge yourselves superior than any other nationality or race, because you guys know that you are not that good as you think you are.

Unless you actually raised kids in the USA, how can you talk about raising kids in Poland?
The juxtaposition of the question about raising children and then the one about black culture couldn't be more striking. As an American, I would think that you'd be keen on raising your children in a more open, welcoming and progressive cultural environment. If I'm correct, how are you bridging this issue to assure that your children become adults with a more open and culturally Global perspective?
+John Labus my kids also spend time in America so they know both worlds. Poles want to embrace and protect their national identity, which I now happen to be a part of, so who am I to judge? I wouldn't say Poland is not progressive, most Poles welcome new guests. Thanks for watching!!
John Labus, maybe you should actually learn something (like minimally) about Polish history and culture before - like every other under-educated ignoramus - rushing to project the mentality of your own culture onto the Polish society. (As it happens you are laughably wrong - you are actually writing about historically, by far, THE most progressive, open and tolerant society in Europe). Personally I refrain from criticising any country I haven't spent at least a few months in, ideally speak the language of or, AT THE VERY LEAST, read at least a dozen books about. Usually however I really try to reserve the right to publicly open my mouth about the mentality of the population in the countries I hold the citizenship of (2) and spent decades of my life living in. When it comes to all other countries I just keep learning about them to find out what are their unique pros and cons, according my own own subjective opinion of pros and cons. Now, go and pick up a book (I suggest Adam Zamoyski's 'The Polish Way' to start with) and AFTER you have finished reading it come back and apologise.

Well, I hate to tell you but I have spent considerable time in Poland. So, before you make assumptions about me, you might want to temper your personal insults. I very much enjoy Poland and I am also of Polish descent. However, like I am critical and vocal about the issues in which the US can greatly improve, the juxtaposition of these two questions compelled me to ask my question. I'd like to say that I am sorry for asking it but I am not compelled to do so to someone who personally insults me.

There are two countries in Africa called Niger and Nigeria, so i think your intension was to point its negative in a specific places, more than a general negative one.
