Omni Light has decay and shadows radius, it's meant to be more of an "area light" to light up whole areas of a room. It's not that "it's not as bright", but it's because the decay is set to inverse square by default which means the light "fade" out a lot more. Hope that helps 😊
@@TheRenderingEssentials I guess its better used for just generally having more light in an entire room, where as a sphere light from a lightbulb or lamp would be better for more realistic light sources?

I have literally been searching for weeks on how to light up a large room. I use the program for work and we are new to Vray and for me the omni light did nothing...changed it from inverse and what a difference!!!!! The answer I was searching for was right there in the comments. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Dear Justin. I have no words for how many times you have made it easier for me to work with the Sketchup and V-Ray. You are our LIGHT! Thank you very much!
I simply love the way you literally comment every click with speech. Small things like these are really helpful to noobs like me. Thank you for making this video. ❤️

You are the best i am learning this vary for many times and the way you explain it is just super clear and fast and not the way i knew .thank you so much.
Super helpful... Thank You. The more I get into sketchup, I realize I would need a really good computer with graphic cards because the more details I put into it, the loading time keeps increasing and it has become quite significant comparing to back in the basic days. Hehe but thanks so much for your efforts and helpful tips and information.
I was just about to make a comment on another video about a tutorial on lighting and here it is. This channel and SketchUp Essentials are great and have helped me through so many modelling issues I’ve encountered. Keep up the great videos. Have you thought about doing any Revit tutorials? Your way of teaching is faultless. Thanks again. 😁
Thanks very much! At the moment, probably not - if I was to do other tutorials, I'd likely want to get more into Unreal, Unity, Blender, or something like that rather than Revit, though I'm always open to new ideas in the future. Thanks so much for watching!
You are a magnificent teacher! Thank you so very much for these very informative and clearly and effectively communicated tutorials! Thank you yet again!
Hi man, Because of your videos I knew how to learn v-ray sketchup by using your videos instead of taking classes. Can you also make tutorials of how to make renders in V-ray sketchup for 360° view ? Thanks a lot
Dude, you're so helpful, i find your tutorial is quite clear as so im finding many of my mistakes when rendering easily explained by you, thanks a bunch..!
Hallo Justin, I like your videos because the explanation is so clear and easy to understand. Thank you very much. Do you have a video on Vray menu for example explain emissive , refraction, reflection and how to use them. Thank you very much.
Hello Justin I don't know how to thank you for all your great works. God will reward you Please I have this challenge in v ray. during my interactive rendering, I still find that the colors I applied to my interior scene still goes all that white everywhere. I applied red to towels, but still showing white. Please where did I go wrong? Thanks
Love the videos, thanks! Have you thought of doing private lessons? For instance, I'm imagining a 45 minute appointment or something, where we screenshare while I build what I'm working on. Maybe you build the same thing on your end simultaneously to quickly show options and what to do. Even without you building it too, having someone walk me through things live so I don't have to dig through text or video to find something specific, this could be a very helpful service. You already have the platform to promote it too :) Just an idea.
Thanks a lot for this valuable information. I tried them all but the spot lights they don’t work with me and it’s not even shown there do u think it’s something in my sitting? Thanks again
Thank you for this video Justin. I am a new subscriber and I really find your videos really helpful. I am new to Vray but have used Sketchup for many years now. I have a question though. I am using a free trial version of Vray 5.0 and when I place any type of lights from Vray into my 3D model the interactive render screen does not show the illumination from the light automatically like yours does. Instead I have to individually change each light source I've used in the model so that it's in wattage so that the illumination appears. Also, the light source (spotlight, sphere, rectangle, etc) in my model appears in wire frame rather than a solid white object. Could you please explain why that is? Thanks for your expertise.
Heloo Justin.. Need some help, I already followed the steps to changed sphere light to radiant power to make it brighter, but why my light is not bright like in tutorial? already change the intensity too, Great tutorial anw! Hope can find the answer
Hey! Your videos are great and very useful. I'm a fresher in interior designing field. I've a question. Can you please solve this? I want to buy a laptop for working on SketchUp and lumion. Hi Justin, great video, very helpful but hey we have a question - we have SketchUp 2020 and we can't get the spotlights to show up in the V Ray render no matter what we do. Clicking them on or off, changing any of their settings, nothing. All the other lights (rectangle, sphere, dome, etc.) work fine and their settings are adjustable. Would love any advice or recommendations. Thanks.
Interesting - I've never done this before, but I assume it would be a question of adding this as some kind of a mask under the light emission settings - would have to research further
Justin love your tutorials!! What are the specs on the computer you use that allows you to run all these different programs? I have Twin Motion, SUpodium and VRay on my HP and want to add Lumion 10. What specific mouse are you using as well? I would appreciate the feedback!!
