Hi really helpful thank you! Only problem is with v-ray next, my uploads from hdri haven are looking super zoomed in and distorted when looking through my interior window...do you know how I can fix this??

Hey Justin, can we make shadows softer while using a dome light? Just like we do for sunlight with size multiplier.

Regarding the brightness of the scene, isn't it a good way to also play with the gamma curve of the HDRI to adjust the the brightness of the sky?

How do I adjust the opacity of the shadow? Can I adjust the opacity (how dark the shadow is) in Shadows setting in Sketchup or adjust in Vray? If Vray where can I find the settings to adjust it?

I placed the dom light and then chose the image and uploaded it but the model remains the same, I can't see the HDRI in my model :/
The domeLight only affects the render, not the model, in other words, you will only see the domelight (sky) in the render.
Very helpful. But I have an issue not addressed here. I have loaded an hdri but its scale is so disproportionate to my model that my building is showing up smaller than a car in the hdri image. Help😭

Sounds like a problem with your HDRI - I'd try another one

Hi. I just shifted to vray 3.4 from the old vray 2.4. i was comfortable with the older one. The problems i am facing with the new vray is the images noisy and dark and warm. The older vray used render crisp images. Can you please help. Desperately need that help. Thank you in advance
I am having a lot of trouble when it comes to the scale of the HDRI. Every time I load an hdri, the scale of it seems to be huge and I've tried different things, but I can't fix it. I have tried the repeat U/V under 2d Transformation in Vray 4, but I can't manage to find a balance. Any suggestions?
Usually this indicates a problem with the HDRI file - have you tried a different one? An also a different one from a different source? My advice in this situation is usually to find a new HDRI

Sir it would be if you make video, using same model ( as in the video ) on applying exterior colors to the model using vray... ( i mean how the settings to make exterior colors ) it would be great, I find it very difficult because everytime i don't get the desired results as required. Also how good materials can be made and used for architectural exterior rendering.

Hi sir Justin , I have a problem with my v-ray 3.6 dome light settings, I want to rotate the hdri light, according to ur video, it is needed to on the "use transform" button in order to adjust the orientation of the hdri, but I can't see the use transform button, I don't have that kind of button in my settings, where can I find it ? I don't know why it is not there. Please help. Normally the use transform is at the bottom of the tex resolution right? But mine is none, after tex resolution next is the options for affect alpha, affect diffuse etc.. Holy crap. Please help.

Which quality hdri maps i have to download 1k,3k,5k,or8k
Any of them - the smaller ones will be faster, the bigger ones will be slower but more high resolution

I don't understand - when I hear "Default Tray," I think of the SketchUp Tray - that's not in your render engine

Hi Justin, so helpful as always. Just a quick question, shuld I be doing these in the order of your videos? IE Materials and objects first, then external lighting, and then internal lighting? Does the order matter? Do things like HDRIs slow down Sketchup or not necessarily? Thanks again!

Try downloading a higher resolution version of the HDRI?
@@Thesketchupessentials Wouldn't that increase the HDRI quality even more? I have a problem with matching the materials of my model to the photorealistic image of the HDRI.

Is it possible to scale the hdri you added to this model? Because the trees behind the model are very tall and big.
I don't know that you can - I think that the way the HDRI looks is based on the resolution of the file, but I don't think it's adjustable in that way. Anyone else is welcome to weigh in on this as well. Thanks!
