Very helpful. But I have an issue not addressed here. I have loaded an hdri but its scale is so disproportionate to my model that my building is showing up smaller than a car in the hdri image. Help😭
How do I adjust the opacity of the shadow? Can I adjust the opacity (how dark the shadow is) in Shadows setting in Sketchup or adjust in Vray? If Vray where can I find the settings to adjust it?
God richly bless you bro... your videos has really helped me a lot in the past and now as a student... Looking foward to support you in the nearest future.
hlw sir , this video helped a lot.. thank you very much.. But I reslly want to know how can I adjust the ground level of my model with the dom light , for a fully realistic render view.. As you can see in this video the grass of the model and the grass of the HDRI doesn't matched .. help me in this please..........
I am using the same HDRI image as you in this tutorial but for a baseball field I built, but the scale is WAY off on the HDRI image, I realize its a spherical image but the grass blades and look massive compared to my field and my field is built to correct scale?? Thanks LOVE your tutorials !
Sounds like something wrong with the HRDI - I'm not really aware of a way to resize those files - you may consider using the HDRI just for the lighting and inserting the image in a program like Photoshop
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I recently downloaded some HDRI's and have 0 idea how to utilize them HAHAHA and this has definitely helped. Thanks Justin!
Hi Justin, so helpful as always. Just a quick question, shuld I be doing these in the order of your videos? IE Materials and objects first, then external lighting, and then internal lighting? Does the order matter? Do things like HDRIs slow down Sketchup or not necessarily? Thanks again!
Awesome video. Learned alot in just 14 minutes. However, the quality of my model doesn't really match with the realistic HDRI background. How can I adjust this?

Hi Justin, I’m using the current version and it operates a little differently. Can you help me find the quality settings on the latest For SketchUp? It looks very different. Thanks for the great vids.
That was a great video, not only does it help with SKP/Vray but also the AccuRender Nxt setups. One key question here will be how to get a more sharper realistic shadows yet make use of the HDRI reflections on the glazing?
As far as I know, you can't change the scale of the HDRI image - if you need to resize it, you may want to try a different way of adding a background image, like photoshop or one of the methods in this video - th-cam.com/video/ZQZOQtkJ1-w/w-d-xo.html - Thanks!
I don't know that you can - I think that the way the HDRI looks is based on the resolution of the file, but I don't think it's adjustable in that way. Anyone else is welcome to weigh in on this as well. Thanks!
Your videos are always very helpful. I have learnt a lot from them. But I have a problem, if I want to take the HDRI far, I am not able to do it.. I use VRAY 3.6, please , and also when I render with denoiser on, after finish my HDRI becomes hazy.. Please help
very nice video and very helpful....I do have a question...I loaded other hdri but when I rendered it the size of my model is not scaled to the surrounding of my hdri,,,is there any way I can adjust my hdri? im using meters on my model
I'm not 100% sure, but I don't believe so. If you're looking to adjust the HDRI, you may need to just use the lighting from the image, not the image itself, then apply the background in a program like Photoshop. Not 100% sure, but I think that's the case - Thanks!

Very helpful video, but I have a problem. How do I get shadows visible on the ground in V-ray? The shadows shows correctly on the model in V-ray but there is no shadows on the ground as it is in SketchUp, how do I fix that?
The shadows are going to come from your physical sun, so if you want them, you need to leave the sun turned on and not light solely with the dome light
