Your prices are very reasonable. I also love this video format and production. You’re continuing to kill it, and I’m glad things are going well Chase! Thanks for being a friend❤
Ill definitely look at you! I'm looking to start selling singles, so i can fund my hobby. Im starting with my old bulk, to build a presence on tcgplayer, etc... Great videos btw!
@@Shortcxke1 it really depends on what's in it, but usually there's some higher demand stuff that sells more quickly and for a bit more than the base bulk single price. Sometimes there's like hidden gems in there worth $1, $5, &c., that really accelerate you to the breakeven point. The Weiss Schwarz bulk from my last video is already profitable, with 95% of the cards left over
I’m a fan of your videos. My main game is Yugioh and I’ve picked bulk since 2015 and have 25k sales across eBay and tcg If I’m being honest I personally feel sorting bulk the way you do just isn’t worth the time for the reward. I understand direct plays a role in your business so that’s certainly a plus. Maybe what I’m looking to see/something that would change my mind is knowing the amount of time put into sorting a few sets, and then showing the returns on this sets sorted. Again what you do is great and I really liked this video, think it’s a great idea 😎 I personally just find it hard to believe sorting out 3-10 cent commons adds up (even when tcg takes 50% for orders under $3 in direct). Also I really think you need an employee if you don’t have one already. I’ve been thinking about doing this myself. The problem is that an employee should generate about a 4x return for the work they do, and in this type of business that isn’t easy. There are many many tasks anyone could do that just wastes my time. One of these things for you would be packing up this bulk. Optimizing your time in the most efficient way is key.
It's definitely not for everyone, and I've worked really hard to make it as worth my time as I can. It isn't ready to quantity the returns on a specific bulk purchase, because those returns can keep paying out in perpetuity. I still get significant sales from cards I listed 2 years ago. I'm not hiding the amount of work involved, but it's mostly front loaded, and you would be surprised at how quickly it pays for itself and how consistent listing ends up generating a good deal of return. It's a compounding marathon, not a sprint. Thanks for watching, and for your kind words, and your perspective!
congrats on bringing this idea to life, would be interested to hear updates on if/how well this scales up for you, so far looks like good added value for your patreon subs
I'm hoping so, especially as geared as possible towards transparency so there's no mystery or secrecy by which I'm appearing to exploit anyone. It's neither in my own interest nor the interest of the market as a whole to hide anything, and I'm hoping that is helpful to people as well
This is a timely video! I accumulate a lot of bulk, so I'm trying to figure out the best way to sell it. I'll probably sell via my website rather than eBay due to their high fees.
Hard to replicate the traffic that eBay gets though too. I'm going this route because I don't like selling bulk lots to the end consumer because I'm afraid it will come across as overcharging prime who don't know better. I'd rather sell to businesses who are going to break it down for singles.
I'm really glad you enjoyed it! I don't know of any sources of bulk soccer currently, but I will certainly be on the lookout for some after I get some more sports stock in
Do you have a video explaining how to submit for bulk selling? What are you looking for, or better yet, what are you not interested in? Im just not sure how the process works for sellers to send you bulk cards. Thank you!
At this point I think I'm just trying to figure out what the best way to acquire office and storage space is. My selling isn't quite up to the level that would enable me to make this a full-time career, but it can easily get there if I keep selling. I'm also not sure if where else besides TCGplayer I should list singles and bulk to offload cards. Eventually I would like a brick and mortar store to accompany the online.
I was lucky and found this location, but I feel like there is more depth out there for locations like mine than people realize. You don't have to have a retail location, even if you are eventually wanting one, you don't have to start with one
So I know the margins are thin on bulk sometimes. I have a question. So when you sell online on tcgplayer how do you not get hammered for taxes later? Like if you bought say $1000 worth of bulk and you sold $2000 dollars worth of bulk through the year.
In short, yes. I'm not a tax advisor, but inventory costs are costs. Even so, increasing your income by $1000 is very unlikely to cost you much in the way of income taxes

That means a lot to me, thanks so much for your kind words
The thumbnail game is so strong rn!!! Haven’t watched yet, just wanted to mention it!
Appreciate you and I just made my first 2 bulk purchases! Hopefully it goes well! Fingers crossed!
Hey, I hope it does as well! If you got a good price for it, you ought to be able to make it work for you. Congratulations!
Typically, how long will it take to make a profit on the bulk?

I wish I could give you a "typical" time frame, but it just too widely varies for it to be any kind of useful as a data point.
Great idea and follow through. Wish I thought of it and acted on it first. I wish you the best of luck
I'm not going to get upset if you also bought and sold bulk 🤣
I love your channel and I’m subscribed
Thanks so much!
Keep up the great work 👍 you are my reference for all things related to selling bulk. I've learned so much. Thank you!
