Oh to be young and carefree again ❤
I first heard this when I was 13 in 1978. 44 years later it still gives me the same enjoyment. All those Jazz snobs who criticise herbie's creativity from 1978-1982 need to remember how curious and risk taking he was and probably still is. Daft Punk, Zapp, Neil Young (Trans) and many others owe him a major debt of thanks
The fact that this great tune is still embedded in my musical memory bank is, to me, tribute enough. I listen to this and swathes of memories come floodin back. It was a great track then and still is now.
I used to dance to this 78, 79, what a joy and still sounds superb, this played in all the discos just love it and all jazz funk music… ❤
Innovator🔥
I make you right ✅️ 😂😂❤
All Herbie eras dope
This is the peak of music
You either get this tune or you don't, it's as simple as that.
if this was uploaded with a Daft Punk album cover, I would believe it. What an inspirational song this must have been for them. I feel lucky for just now discovering this song in 2023, I can't stop listening to it!
Outstanding, still listening to this classy number in 2023 !
How could he make such song in 70's?
Better than today's auto-tuned songs (though herbie' used vocoder :)
Lyrics are amazing so true scents bring you back years. So nostalgic
Still sounds fantastic today.
After losing my partner in April after 55 years marriage this song makes me tearful rip John love ann xxxxxx

Herbie's timeless musical adventures - Almost sounds like a great film title 😂
Living in London 2002/2003 & listening to JazzFM London ...this jam made me homesick all the time.
So beautiful, herbie was ahead of his time….. the flow of this track is superlative, what a groove !!

"We were young, love was new. Warm as the sun, shining through. " Remembering a distant lost love I cannot listen to this masterpiece without a tear in my eye ...
true GOAT
God blessed this man with so much talent.
Thank you Mr. Hancock!
Some songs just slap your brain awake when you listen to them for the first time.
Keep coming back to this song. It's an original from a very gifted and talented musician. I don't think anyone else could ever do justice to it. Just sublime music.
Thank you Herbie Hancock - you Sir, are a legend.
Brandon Coleman 👀🎶🎹
If you like this...take a listen to the version by a Japanese band called Tokyo groove jyoshi...it is absolutely superb !!
Wowww
Proud that this was a hit in the UK. My introduction to Herbie. Love the key changes and his excellent vocal.
Yes....those key changes ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What a brilliant song. Just brilliant.
Nothing comes close to this either on talkbox or vocoder. Pure Brilliance. ❤
A M A Z I N G

A timeless masterpiece! Love it!
pure awesomeness 2023 ❤
Superb ❤
Timeless classic, still love it after all these years.
Thanks
This song always brings tears to my eyes it makes me think about someone who means so much to me 😂❤😅
Just superb, way too futuristic for even 2022.
Been giving me chills since 78
Those lyrics are so deep, I think most people can connect with a memory of a long lost lover a soul mate that time can't seem to erode and all it takes sometimes is a momentarily spark, like a song, a scent of perfume, the image of a colourful single rose flower, enough for a tiny ripple to send us tumbling back to that special hidden place in our minds.
Yes. I often have memories of past times with a scent. Im shocked sometimes
Love this song takes me back to best times of my life
Meraviglioso!👏👏👏🇮🇹
Epic song ❤
Bonne journée
Timeless
Excellent ❤❤🎉thanks
Still love this number 👍🎵🎵⭐
What an absolute badass this man is
Wow! Cool song ❤
This is one of the best songs that use vocoder. Can we all just take a moment to give thanks to herbie because he experimented with early vocoding models and used analouge gear, analouge gears was so hard to keep in tune back then humidity changes, temprature changes even power changes can make it detune. He even tried to use it on stage. plus he influenced daft punk on random acces memories. The whole sunlight album is just made out of gold.
Very well said Talha
aga yine karsima ciktin bu kadar tesaduf cok fazla
You can't dislike this song !
So warm and humane song and music!! Forever ever top of the Universe track! ❤️
Unreal talent.
I have always loved this track….and what a handsome man 🔥
What a tune. What an artist . Megga 🎉
DAMN... This is gold!!!
One of the greatest singles of all time.A wonderful combination of Herbies' jazz funk genius and playing with lyrics that touch the soul ! Thank you maestro for this.
Excellent analysis. I’m intrigued, too, that there’s a disco beat underlying the jazz funk, making this a brilliant crossover track. Disco in 1978 needed the shot in the arm of this textured complexity.
Wow! I’ve been a massive Herbie fan for like 20 years and this is the first time I’ve seen him singing. So beautiful love you Herbie!
Happy Birthday!
Unique.
I remember this being on the B-Side of Rocket.Well it was on the 12"" inch version.I had in the UK.
Man he is feeling his music
u can sing bro
This tune gives me such strong 70's vibes and memories of growing up in that decade...absolutely love this!! YOU'VE GOTTA PLAY THIS LOUD IF LISTENING TO IT!!!!
Yeah, me too. Anything with soul in it like this takes me back!
One of my favourite tunes of the 70s ❤️
Still amazing after all these years. Brilliant edit .
My favorite
This track does something to me! Pure heaven
Just can't get enough of this song
thats love
Nothing like it. Superb vocals and instruments !
Meravigliosa ❤
Such a unique kind of music
For me, it's the vocoder that really takes it to the next level
Just glance from behind
Happened by chance or design
The perfume she wore
Took me back through a door
I had closed long ago
Suddenly
I thought it was you
Thought it was you
Thought it was you
Thought it was you
Remember what we knew
I thought it was you
Thought it was you
Thought it was you
Remember when I thought it was you
We were young love was new
Warm as the sun shining through
In your arms it seemed
I went back to a dream
I had seen long ago
Suddenly
I thought it was you
Thought it was you
Thought it was you
Thought it was you
Remember what we knew
I thought it was you
Thought it was you
Thought it was you
Remember when I thought it was you
Brilliant
Those lyrics amazing.

Superb. I can feel where Daft Punk influences come.
Listen "Beyond" of Daft punk
@@kbdkbd99 English please 👎
Thats right
I think the best song he ever made, a classic romantic reminds me of hot summer nights
Discovered this song by accident and I am absolutely mortified I never heard it before, given I am a great fan of 70's Disco and Soul. Up there on the list of faves
Sex o sonique brought me here I was looking for their tune for 25 years. 25 YEARS!!!
Absolutely brilliant, pioneering and remember this is 1977/78.
Never seen this video b4,wicked!!!!
Met herbie numerous times in London.
Absolutely gem of a man. 👍🏾
This must have been an absolute disco banger back in the day
Still is. 👍
It was you are correct ❤
I like his voice and the music. I will have to pay closer attention to the lyrics but it sounds loving.
Thanks for the memories herbie hancock 😊😊😊❤
I miss those days
Vibes
excellent
This is gorgeous
Herbies a cool funky dude.
This makes me so so happy; pure joy and energy, someone should make a one hour mix…it would work better than Valium
He never mentions this as a song he is proud of, I think it’s the best things he ever did
TRUE DAT
I can tell you he's not proud of this! He's a musician, be it one with more than average interest in commercial success. So he did some things that were 'artificial'. Esp. when he tried to connect with disco music. Like this one. Guess you won't be impressed with this, where you can hear him being the brilliant musician he is: th-cam.com/video/l_T14jAkj2w/w-d-xo.html
It`s good, but his earlier jazz work is better . Maiden Voyage through to Headhunters (especially) points to where he ends up here. Yes, it`s commercial, but it`s classy and the guy wanted to get paid for once. Superlative musician whatever he turns his hand to,
Listen to Every Herbie’s album before this and you gonna change your opinion ;)
Really? How about literally everything else he ever did? If you like the funk, try Headhunters, Thrust, Man-Child and Secrets. For jazz, go to his earlier stuff.
