- While refurbishment and redesign was a possibility for the lower and middle wings the upper wings are well beyond that.
No alternative than to draw up some plans and build a new set. A few design changes on the way too.
Mark, I’ve been following The Brothers, Jeff, and Cliff for years. Thank you for your work.
They are great TH-cam company. 😊
Mark I’m looking forward to seeing how you do the box spar wing. Jeff in LA USA
Looks good.
Enjoyed the Box Spar construction method, I might try that on my Simplex 60...🤔😏😀🇬🇧
Impressive Mark, looking forward to the next part, that’s a huge wing. 👍🏻
Only one of 3 (four if you count the undercarriage wing 😂)
Great stuff Mark, redesigning the cabane fixings is a good idea, I've broken one of the four on my DW Triplane, certainly a weak spot 👍
Thanks, good to know.
Nice work mark , she'll me be a solid wing that mate 🤙
Hope so
Looks great. No question that the box spar will be stronger. The question I have is about the strength of the rib attachments. I suppose the final determination will be if a rectangular hole is cut in the ribs for the spar or if the ribs are cut in two and glued to the spar. I guess we will wait and see.
A rectangular hole will be cut which should provide a large surface area and therefore strength to the structure.
That will be nice and strong. Lots of detailed cutting to get the wing perfect. Good luck.
