Because as far as I know, they were going to go their separate ways if this song wasn't successful. Fortunately, everything turned out the way it did. For a song that is 7 years old, I still think it's really good and fresh. Sure, today's may be more sophisticated and mature, but sometimes less is more. I just still like it. Yeah it is rumoured that it was a make or break, since they really didn't get that breakthrough and still played at clubs. Then the video started going viral on social media. To their surprise mostly outside Japan. Heard rumours that Misa was still on the fence, but that their first US gig in Seattle convinced her. Not seen any confirmation of it, soo..
They actually thought they were going to be fired/let go and were discussing all quitting together before that could happen. They all liked each other too much to actually go their own ways. But yes, that would have been the end of Band Maid.

Yay, WeekMaid! Always look forward to Fridays now, now more than ever! You need to see both versions! The live version has subtitles and the words start to make sense. This is Band Maid in the very beginning, and it's the song that kept them from breaking up, which they were considering prior to this video release. Two million views in two weeks later, they decided they had a future! So happy they stayed together and have kept giving us the best hard music since!
Yes, and they had a few close calls in 2016 as well, both Miku and Misa considered leaving Band-Maid. Miku carried on working hard to master the guitar and they finally got to make their own music by the record company. MISA desided to stay after a consert in San Francisco where Band-Maid and MISA recieved a huge welcome and had great success. From that day on MISA knew they had reached their first goal on their way to world domination. These days they look like a close knit group that loves to stay together, from their stage performances they love what they do, and are all close friends off stage as well.

This video was my first contact with band-maid, over 6 years ago it only had 7000 views at that time, a personal email from a mutual friend who is a Babymetal fan. Hearing Band-maid's Thrill I immediately understood that this band will be successful in the future. Indeed, I am a maidiac and I faithfully follow all your reaction videos about Band-maid.

Does caffeine wake you up, or put you to sleep? Miku didn't even really know how to play guitar when they shot this. Miku also doesn't have the power to front a proper rock band, that's why she sought out Saiki. They do have songs where she sings lead, but they have a much more bubbly vibe. A lot of the magic that is Band-Maid is how well their voices blend.
I think I was watching it with a strange feeling in Japan at that time. In this music video, they have never looked at the camera. I'm not flirting with customers. The name is maid, which is the exact opposite of the image of a maid in Japan. It was all MIKU's strategy.
Its amazing that since "Thrill" was B-M's first MV, Miku doesn't look a day older than her 810 years. What a Maid :)
