This is really unique. Never seen a laptop setup done this way. Honestly never seen that packed pixels display, and laptop stand before but that really adds to the whole thing.
Finally! Someone understands the concept of budget! Literally every decent guide I've seen has everything in the $100+ range and it's soooo frustrating!
I have not really decided on adding to my laptop setups or whatever; yet when a video about accessories is presented like this, it makes decisions over buying them or not much easier. These reviews and demonstrations are convenient and easy to understand oppose to others that makes you want to buy them instead.
Hey David, i really appreciate the work you put in your videos. The setup shown in this video is pretty much ideal for someone who has to take his whole office to other places such as an it-auditor like me. I always struggle when I visit companies and they didn't plan to give me a proper monitor or at least a decent office setup to work (probably because they don't want me to find anything suspicious haha). The stand plus the second monitor is pretty much what I needed, thanks dude and keep up the good work!
Nice advertisements. Can't believe people actually believe this is a TH-camrs practical video editing setup without reading description. One the other hand kudos to you for putting that in description and saving my time.

dude, your setups are killer. I bought the same backpack because you recommended it, haha. Same laptop as well. I have been looking at how I can setup a tablet like you have there. I even have the same screen and laptop stand. Such great recommendations.
Hey Dave, umm.. really great work as usual but my wife told me to stop watching your videos because according to her, every time I watch your videos I buy something from Amazon. That's okay though, I kicked her out of the house instead. Keep doing what you're doing brother. ✌️
Nice, that Nexstand was just what I was looking for, My Laptop setup: -2-in-1 Laptop -Crysis 2 Nano Edition Bag -Sonnet eGPU Enclosure -WX 7100 Workstation GPU -Idk if I'm getting an external speaker or sound card -Slide-N-Joy 15inch 3 Monitor -External UHD Optical (since laptops don't come with them anymore) -Turtle Beach 800X
I'm like you, David. My HP Laptop only has 2 Type A ports and 1 Type C port so I had to buy a USB hub to be able to run both my monitors and mouse/keyboard when I'm at home. Other than that problem, I love my laptop.
This is a delectable setup. I would like to upgrade to a similar workstation but not any time soon. I don't have any more extra money for now. I wanted a similar laptop to the dell xps but it wasn't available when I went to best buy last month. Instead I got the Lenovo Yoga 720 15 inch which I'm very happy with. I'll be checking out more of your videos. This one was top quality.
Does anyone know if there is an accessory or item to stop people from closing your laptop PHYSICALLY????? (like from putting it into closed laptop position??? I've had people close my laptop screen lid down while I am away from it)
Beautiful setup and presentation. However; you can step it up. 1. No backpack (use a rolling backpack-more room for lots of other goodies, more pockets, does not tire you, and navigating stairs or difficult places is why its a backpack with wheels. I DID IT!. Never going back to a backpack by itself...wheels are the best!) 2.Bring along in the rolling backpack (extra external already charged batteries. This is an absolute must. Weight is not a problem with a rolling backpack-I never had to use the backpack for protracted lengths of time. Roll, roll away. Charger for laptop, and charger for external batteries to be included too. Also..I currently use a PowerOak External Laptop Battery. Awesome beast. 50,000 Ma. Its a BRICK! But; you are using a...rolling backpack) 3.Get yourself a decent extra monitor. In my book its always 12 inches minimum. Not that postage stamp you have! 4.Get yourself a USB splitter, to get more ports. 5.Bring along a "Tabletote". Its so nice to carry a portable laptop table with you all the time. 6.Get yourself a portable seat. That is why you have a roomy rolling backpack. My favorite which I always carry with me in a tripod shoulder mounted case...or you can put it inside your roomy rolling backpack...is..."Walkstool". Never looked back after I bought my first one. One caution...the legs are pressure fitted into the flexible joint. Its a good light in weight chair...but keep that in mind. Company could have warned about it, and have it factory pinned, or factory epoxied. 7.Absolutely...positively...carry an external memory device. Memory is cheap. Nowadays you can get 4G devices pretty cheap. Backup everything. And carry it with you. Or send it to your home, personal backup memory banks. And if anyone tells me that I can use an external memory farm that someone else controls. You deserve to get your laptop and data cracked! And have someone erase it too! In my rolling backpack I still had room to put in my hoodie, and snacks. Peace and Love...and keep on rolling!!✌
I just picked up a Dell xps 13 4k, 16 gig ram, touch, 512ssd at costco for $1299 usd. You got me thinking now if I should have opted for the 15 inch....lol your videos are great quality.
BigpoppaKC the XPS 13 is awesome dude, you'll most likely get better battery life than the bigger 15(depending on your usage), and it's more portable 😊
You should look for a hard case for your g602. I have the same mouse, they are great, but very sensible. I wouldn't recomend to transport them without a case.
Good to know that you're from Canada too. I'll get some of these accessories as I got a Dell XPS 15 too, once I find work here as I am a new comer here.
Bose headphones :) , my recommendation to have laptop handy while seating would be: CBS Flo Monitor Arm Dynamic DYN/013/010 WHITE With Desk Fixing + Equip Vesa-notebook-halter Für 10 Bis 15 Laptops PS seating that way -hanged front is not ergonomic and eye to display distance is too big for 15" imho
Great video as always David! I have a question. I usually go to other friends house to have a" L.A.N party" there and while i have a computer to use i want a newer one which preferibly goes for under 800$. So what i'm wondering is if i should build my own gaming PC from scratch and use that, buy a small and less powerful PC for the same price at the nearby Tech Store, or go for a Laptop that can handle most games out there. What do you think?
Couldn't you Velcro the huge bulky adapter somewhere on the back off the small screen?, it would basically only be 1 thing to connect each time, or would that maybe need a different adapter?
That's a good idea! I just haven't found a clean way to do that yet. Also the adapter has a pretty short cable and needs to go directly to the laptop which is challenging. I'm sure there are other cables/adapter I could use to clean it up a bit but I'm pretty happy with the setup as is.
Hello David, It was nice watching your video. I checked for Packed Pixels. Are there any similar alternatives available in the market as Packed Pixels have closed production.
I use a 12.2" Samsung tablet and a program called TwoMon as a second monitor for my 13.3" laptop. I am not as much of a power user as you, but I find I really like having the second display. Have you tried that instead of that monitor?
Got a feeling like watching some digitally obsessed version of American Psycho where the protagonist is obsessed with electronics.😭😭😭 Amazing videoes anyways.😎😎
Which adaptor are you using? Do you have the link? Because I don't really get a clear image of what connections I need on my future Dell XPS or what adaptor I need to power the PackedPixels display. Umm... Maybe someone could tell me which adaptor I need? Thank you very much. And, David Zhang, great SetUp!
Currently using 4k screen on my 9560. Much better than any 1080p. Especially for photoshop and lightroom. When color accuracy is important the 4k screen is a lot higher on the Adobe RGB gamut
Did you try the asus mb16 monitor ? And what laptop stand would you prefer, if this was to be a permanent solution ? A next stand or a more rugged metal / aluminium one? Thanks // Daniel
Another excellent video, thanks for that. Based in your review in another video, I bought an ebags professional slim junior backpack and I'm very happy with my decision. Unfortunately, this laptop stand doesn't ship to Australia. Do you have any other suggestion? I have a dell XPS 13.

Is the packed pixels display big enough to be usable in portrait, for instance web browsing on it without needing a magnifying glass (not smaller than a 15" full hd @100%)?
Really cool setup!!! Can I ask if u would still recommend the xps 15 for video editing? (2018 model) if so what spec would I need as a minimum??? Some 4K editing. Thank you.
Can anyone guess the desk I'm using? (Hint: Like most of my stuff it's from IKEA)
All to be revealed when the dream setup is done!
David Zhang do you think an expensive laptop is good for school anyway?
You are using LINNMON / LERBERG
It looks a lot like the EKBACKEN countertop, am i right?
I FRICKIN LOVE THAT DESK IT LOOKS LIKE CONCRETE! lol I'm mad
David Zhang What are the Logitech mice profiles that you use? (link)
