Thanks for sharing! Just learned this Sonata for a concert recital that was cancelled. But so much enjoyed it. Beethoven really had a fiery start for his first sonata with such a dramatic entrance and four movements. Great composition and played with such energy!
Amazing. My mother used to play this when we were growing up in the sixties. But your dynamics on the trills are better. Thank you so much for this Easter present. ( My little sister always heard this as coming from overhead since she played with dolls under the Steinway.)
Wow Mr. Barton the recording is phenomenal, the ending chords of the first movement sounds like its recorded in this great big hall, love the sounds of those chords.
I love this song! You play it exactly how Beethoven wrote to me, Thank you! (My teacher’s teacher was Lizst’s student, Liszt was czerny’s and Czerny was Beethoven’s student) Long history, right?🙀🎞
Wait... so you actually plan to do the rest of Beethoven's sonatas, BY THE END OF THE YEAR????!! That's insane! I hope it doesn't take me too long to where I can get to your level.
This is a very convincing rendition. Very beautiful playing, specialty polyphonic places where some secondary voices are pointed out with musical intention❤

Wow Very nice performance! I especially like your interpretation of Beethoven sonata no.1 4th movement. It is emotionally well controlled which perfectly brings the feeling of Beethoven's early work, and at the same time sound is clear even in high speed! Always learning alot by watching your videos Thank you!
I’d like to see your hands as well as the music. They way you usually do your videos. See the playing makes it so much more real and enjoyable, thanks for all your time and efforts, love hearing you play the Bach Preludes.
Eduardo Poblete de Chile, que hermoso sonido, anhelo poder escuchar el ciclo completo, adoro las sonatas de Beethoven, especialmente de la 29 a la 32. Congratuletions.

That's the first of the 'real' Beethoven sonatas I've learned..I've played the first movement and would like to finish the other three movements but the 4th looks intimidating!
Hey Paul, Really enjoyed your performance like I always do. I just had this one burning question: do you think you might give some Schubert sonatas a try? I wish you well during this global health crisis we found ourselves in.
Can I ask which version of the sheet music he uses? In his link it just takes me to imslp which has many many versions and I can’t find which one he uses. Anyone know? Thanks!
Hi Paul or any viewers who may know, what microphone do you use to record? I am in need of some samples and the sound you have set here is really quite good. Any special tricks you use?
Hi Paul, i'm learning part 1 + 2 and am struggling with my hand/arm stamina. How can I build up my strength to be able to play the full sonata eventually? Are there any specific exercises or warm ups I can work on?

Cool man! Just keep up and maybe you'll finish the 10th symphony by Beety and maybe it will be the best version.
Song?!?!
Who is your teacher? I have the same story. Also it’s a piece, I think you should know by now.
Wait... so you actually plan to do the rest of Beethoven's sonatas, BY THE END OF THE YEAR????!! That's insane! I hope it doesn't take me too long to where I can get to your level.

sk6691, I agree
How do you do the trill at 2:30?
I wanted to play this piece for my competition, but seeing how you play I think it's better to stick with a clementi sonatina xD
On dirait un ordinateur avec une âme ! Je suis jalouse ;)
No need to, Isabelle, you can be the same with a bit of practice,
Can I make a suggestion? Can you show your hands and the music sheet? It’s better to me.

Can anybody explain the reason why everyone skip the repetition symbol at the end of 4th movement?
I have no idea, @ Esteban T.
After this project maybe Leopald Godowsky studies on Chopin op 10 and op 25.

Mozart k457 vibes to the opening.
is it just me or the opening sounds an awful lot like mozart's 25th symphony?
Nice interpretation, but in The 68 compas The measurement of The left hand Ab. G. C isnt accuarate!! Hahaha but I dont care you play amazing.
You sound like Lang Lang.
La sonata è bellissima ma l'interpretazione mi sembra un po' meccanica..

Very bad interpretation of the first movement, seems like its to fast for you! The sf sound like some random accents!
first movement reminded me of mozart’s 25th symphony initially
