As someone without an ounce of musical talent, (seriously…I can barely just play the radio) I say thank you. I still love music! And I recognize many of these from Tom & Jerry.
I knew about 70% of the ones i'd actual heard before, but I also used to listen to a lot of classical. there were maybe a dozen i'd never heard before though.
@@qumefox Yeah that's some BS. "About 70% I'd heard before, maybe a dozen I haven't heard" Idk if your just trying to flex on a random video on TH-cam or not but get the math right at least. -NECM Class of 2019
@hamsterpotato Same here. And there's only so many times you want to cop to asking your parents "What's that song that goes kinda 'Dah-dah-da-da-da-daaah', y'know?".
@hamsterpotato I guess mine is closer to writing me off as a cultural loss. I think he's just thankful I still bother to go see his performances occasionally. :D To be fair, though, I find a lot of the history and trivia interesting, but that doesn't help a lot to decode which half-remembered thing you heard in kindergarten belongs to which powdered wig.
❤I giggled, laughed, and got teary-eyed. This is so beautiful and moving. It is a language without words that speaks directly to my heart. Maybe I must spend the rest of my life learning to play. Yes. I must. At times, I had to remind myself to breathe. Thank you. My 92 years young mum was in awe also. May God continue to bless you. xxx❤
I don’t play the piano (yet), but I can’t imagine being able to play the French composers (and a few Beethoven pieces) without any hint of emotion, but maybe if you practice the pieces enough to become that proficient, the power of the emotions might become muted. Although I’m almost 60 now, I think I would have been struck with the same emotion when I was in my late teens, maybe because I listened mostly to Soul from my mid teens.
Fantastic ! Bach - math, lesson, logic Chopin - feeling, sublimity, longing Mozart - fun, game, (edit) lightness etc. But each one is a masterpiece of its era and an opportunity to travel back in time.
Really? Mozart music feels "commerce" to you? That's uncanny because I never got that from him. However he's a vampire who once painted the image of the beast from the sea, without whose mark one mayn't buy, sell, or trade. Plus he's now a singer/songwriter with a commerce-related stage name. Some people are so much better at subtly judging people's character than I am. And maybe it's because I myself am a vapid materialist with a college degree in Economics, so I'm desensitized to this shortcoming in others. (Mozart was my great-great-great grandpa by yet another pseudonym of his. It's probably a genetic trait.)
Mozart has had a lot of commerce-related "stage names". Bismarck is phonetically pronounced "biz-mark". Mozart is pronounced "moats-art". His current wife issued him a written invitation to traverse the "drawbridge to her heart". Again castle/status-related.
It still blows my mind that these pieces are so recognisable hundreds of years later! I find myself listening to classical to unwind and just to temporarily escape this crazy modern world we now live in!

My family is Polish and Chopin (alongside Copernicus) is extremely well know just by virtue of how much pride the society has for him. As such, with someone with a passing interest in classical music, I did know most of the names of the Chopin ones. The ones I didn't, I would have easily been able to find since he has a certain style (there's a lot happening in his compositions with a high tempo, is the best way I can put it into words)

I play piano (obviously nowhere near this guys level) but once you know the piece it’s mainly muscle memory, and if you’ve been learning for a while and know it REALLY well it is possible. Not while playing 100 songs though. That IS skill.
Yeah, what Logan said. It's the same with guitar, you can play a hard piece without looking but when you need to move hands a long distance, even if it's just to play a single note, you have to look where you move them.
@@loganreece3263 😏um guys,...........chillout......👍🏼...That's what he meant. When somethings very easy for him, he can stare left...but when theres big jumps or whatever,...he needs to look at the piano to make sure he Lands.....that's what he meant , by "easy vs hard" ok. I was surprised to see that Scott Joplin had 10 songs on the list. I knew the name, but didn't know how much of a great & accomplished composer he was.
I hadn't heard all of these before, but I knew the ones I had. What I need is someone to do a video like this for 100 songs from the last 10 years or so, especially songs that definitely got radio/supermarket speaker play but didn't get the kind of national media attention that led to everyone knowing their names.
1:45 - Hungarian Rhapsody was used in the move The Majestic with Jim Carrey (serious role). Basic premise: a Hollywood writer gets into an accident, hits his head hard and has amnesia. He gets discovered by someone from a town who swears he's a war veteran believed to have been killed, and the town also sees/believes it. Still trying to piece together his long lost memories, the movie shows people around town trying to refresh his memory. "His" piano teacher tried to have him play this song (a song she taught him well) at the town festival in front of everyone and that's when he struggles to play this, but uncovers his jazz background. It's a cool scene.
Okay so I find Für Elise hilarious because: Beethoven originally wrote the song for a girl he fell in love with. But she couldn't play the piano for shit, so he made a song so simple even she could play it. But then he learned she was engaged, so he made the rest of the song so difficult she could never hope to play it, just like he could never hope to have her heart.
When I was a child, we would go to visit my grandmother in Baltimore. At that time she lived in an apartment building for retirees. The 18th floor (top floor) was a multipurpose hall that had a baby grand piano. On many occasions, while I was up there, one of the residents would be playing that piano. He would play these very complicated classical pieces as well as other more recent pieces. One day I noticed that he never had any sheet music in front of him. Playing every piece from memory. I asked Grandma about him. She told me he would go to the Enoch Pratt Library and sign out stacks of sheet music, play through them, then memorize the ones that he liked best. She said he used to drive the residents on the 17th floor crazy because he would sit up there for hours on end playing that beautiful old piano. Many of the songs that are on this video are ones that were his favorites. Thank you for reviving that memory!!
Most that I recognise are because A - ballet B - ring tones C - my alarms D - one I remember for RPDR?? E - my keyboard pre installed sounds And lastly F - piano tiles
@@scawryvery6513 It's a joke. Radio didn't exist back then... But I could achieve something close to that by rapidly switching between vinyls on my two gramophones setup.
Kudos for this guy, he managed to do it! This guy is actually one of those great pianists. Let's just having a moment to appreciate his ability instead of possibly ignoring his talent.
POV: It’s really late at night this came up in your suggested, you don’t play the piano but are watching the whole thing and scrolling through the comments as you do and you’re not even mad about it
Danny Arroyo I play a lot of Japanese RPG videogames, and much of the music is produced in-house with a company's own orchestra. Many of the games I played from youth have soundtracks and themes that sound similar to classical pieces from well-known composers. I think there are a lot of borrowed notes from Beethoven, etc 😁 So this is why I find myself gravitating naturally towards classical music nowadays. Tom and Jerry also helped immensely. No matter what, we must always find ways to acclimatise young people to classical music. Even if that be sticking elements of it into their games and cartoons/anime. It's important!
OH GOD YES. But it also means that whenever I hear those songs, I hear THEIR version of them. For those of you who never watched Little Einsteins, each time they put a classical song in an episode they would add (usually pretty nonsensical/silly) words to it. So now whenever I hear Flight Of The Bumblebee, I hear “FLUBBADUBBADUBBA DA DUBBADUBBADUBBA DUBBADUBBADUBBA DUBBADUBBA DA DUBBA DAAAA!!!!” It’s annoying and hilarious at the same time XD
Janelle'sGaming that show was actually trippy as heck. Some of the things I can remember from this show off the top of my head: -the Einsteins helping a mouse climb the Matterhorn to bring a present to the moon -a kangaroo jumping high enough to clear Ayers Rock -a dance party with a hundreds of sentient hieroglyphics in an Egyptian pyramid -and I’m pretty sure there was one episode where they surfed through that Japanese tsunami painting. I have no idea what the name of that painting is but you know the one

I got teary eyed as well.

Bach - math,lesson, logic

etc.
But each one is a masterpiece of its era and an opportunity to travel back in time.
where is joplin?
Такого оскорбления Моцарта я ещё не слышал
@@evelynzlon9492 You're right. It's not a very fortunate description for the master and his music.

Opus 10 and 25 were fairly easy, but naming some of the others fully, got me slightly confused.

I play piano (obviously nowhere near this guys level) but once you know the piece it’s mainly muscle memory, and if you’ve been learning for a while and know it REALLY well it is possible. Not while playing 100 songs though. That IS skill.
Wow wtf happend he had 100 last time
If he stares at his hands too long they get scared, so he looks at us, to share the burden of his menacing stare.
That's true, I also close my eyes or look at someone while playing, because I can forget the sheets, doesn't matter how many times I've played
And here I was thinking he was just flexing his ability to play those particular songs by feel alone

How about Flight of the Bumblebee 😆😆😆
No you don’t. Big jumps from one chord to another does not necessarily mean the piece is very hard.
Yeah, what Logan said. It's the same with guitar, you can play a hard piece without looking but when you need to move hands a long distance, even if it's just to play a single note, you have to look where you move them.

Okay so I find Für Elise hilarious because:
Beethoven originally wrote the song for a girl he fell in love with. But she couldn't play the piano for shit, so he made a song so simple even she could play it. But then he learned she was engaged, so he made the rest of the song so difficult she could never hope to play it, just like he could never hope to have her heart.
Oof. Pouring salt on his own wound.
Is that for real? I've never heard of this.

Instead of complaining they should have been paying him 🤷

These songs will always have a place in history. Not like today's songs which are mostly forgotten a year after release.
Thank you Bugs Bunny and Tom & Jerry for teaching me most of these classic tunes.
I second that 😊
Also, thanks to Eternal Sonata for showing me most of Chopin's music
Yes!😆

Little Einstein’s really imbedded a lot of songs in my brain
Watching Little Einsteins and Baby Einsteins with my kids has made me remember more than 8 year of piano lessons ever did lol
OH GOD YES. But it also means that whenever I hear those songs, I hear THEIR version of them. For those of you who never watched Little Einsteins, each time they put a classical song in an episode they would add (usually pretty nonsensical/silly) words to it. So now whenever I hear Flight Of The Bumblebee, I hear “FLUBBADUBBADUBBA DA DUBBADUBBADUBBA DUBBADUBBADUBBA DUBBADUBBA DA DUBBA DAAAA!!!!”
It’s annoying and hilarious at the same time XD
Yeah I might have been 3 but boy you don't remember the episode but you remember the music
Janelle'sGaming that show was actually trippy as heck. Some of the things I can remember from this show off the top of my head:
-the Einsteins helping a mouse climb the Matterhorn to bring a present to the moon
-a kangaroo jumping high enough to clear Ayers Rock
-a dance party with a hundreds of sentient hieroglyphics in an Egyptian pyramid
-and I’m pretty sure there was one episode where they surfed through that Japanese tsunami painting. I have no idea what the name of that painting is but you know the one
Kayla Silverstein omg yes
