I went to high school with Darren at maryvale high school and I watched this whole video and I can tell you he was the most classiest guy back then at maryvale and to see what he's accomplished in his life is well deserved he deserves everything he's worked hard for. Thank you Darren for sitting and talking with me in the quad for 5th hour before going to P.E. with coach wells you have always been that special person that always stopped and talked to anyone who approached you no matter how busy you were. Thanks woody for the memories at Maryvale I wish you the best at everything that follows with your retirement because you deserve all of it God bless.
Great Deep Blue guys!!! The day woody retired hit me hard, he was the last member of the 90’s Dynasty and that day was truly the end of an era!!!! The fact he’s not in the HOF is ridiculous, I can’t wait to see him enshrined in the very near future!!!
Such a good dude who embodies so many of the best qualities in human beings. Not to mention an unbelievably underrated player. I grew up watching that Cowboys dynasty and I can remember so many big time hits and interceptions that Woodson came up with.
Woody was a BEAST, he no doubt is a Hall of Famer & one day will be there. Most importantly Darren is a great human being & one of my favorite Cowboys from the 90's.
Woodie with his best friend the so-called "bad guy" is just awesome. How in the hell could ANYONE not admire and respect Darren Woodson! Good for Keith Tucker as well...we all make mistakes some bigger than others and some of us just get lucky, but you can tell Mr Tucker is a fine man and a great friend to Darren!
He is definitely the best safety I watched I saw all his games he was best player at his position and he us such a wonderful person he deserves to be a hall of famer
Darren Woodson not only a Hall Of Fame football player.. but a Hall Of Fame Person!. As a Dallas Cowboys fan he’s definitely one of my all time favorite players. I was fortunate to run into him whileI was at the “ The Star “ in Frisco, Tx. He was gracious & kind a complete gentleman and class act. It’s time for Woody to be inducted into the NFL Hall Of Fame!.
Darren woodson should be in the hall of fame it s ridiculous how the voters don't vote for this man how helped lead a great defense in the 90 s along with Charles Haley. Woody is the all time leading tackler in Dallas cowboys history and 3 time Superbowl winner 🏆🏆🏆 5 time pro bowler outstanding accolades
The guy was always in the right position and could really tackle. Smoothest defensive player I ever saw.....and yes he played slot safety/LB at that size and covered the likes of Jerry Rice....was before his time, and his character is undeniable...........he deserves to be in.
What made Darren Woodson great was that he was big with linebacker size with safety speed. His rookie year he played spot duty on special teams and won a Super Bowl. Second year he won the starting job from James Washington. He never relinquished it.
Fantastic job on this! Woody will be in the HOF someday and should have already been. I started really paying attention and following Dallas (despite being a fan since I was born basically) when I was a freshman in high school and that Roy Williams/Woodson tandem will forever be my favorite.
Me to. Roy was one of my favorite all-time Cowboy players to watch. They were the best safety tandem Dallas ever had and they were perfect. Woodson was the brains and the center fielder and Roy was the enforcer for anything that dared come to the middle of the field.
Woody is in the Hall of Fame of life. How great a friend who kept Woody out of trouble and focused on the goal for Woody to repay that love by supporting Keith his whole life. It is said that we only have 1 or 2 true friends in our life who support you no matter where, when, or what circumstance. As to that vaunted championship defense, it is a testament to the players in that defense that only two stood out, nationally. Deion, because he’s the GOAT of DBs and Haley who ended the “Bend, don’t Break” era, ushering in the high pressure defense Johnson ultimately wanted.
If you think it’s time for Darren Woodson to be inducted into the Hall of Fame and deserves to be right next to his teammates and Dallas legends, gimme a “Hell Yeah!”
You will be in the hall Darron just remember you were the last champion to leave the field and turn out the lights as so you are the one and the best is last hold tight bother and enjoy that journey to your fans your already there and you will be there and we all can’t wait to see it happen # greatest safety ever
In their historical 4 year (e.g., 1992-1995) run, the Cowboy's defense ranked #1, #10, #1, and #9 in total defense. To have only 2 players (e.g., Charles Haley, Deion Sanders) from that defense in the Pro Football HOF is an absolute joke. Woodson is clearly deserving of being in the HOF. Interesting side note, Johnson's statement to Campo that Woody was going to be the starting safety in 1993, didn't actually come to fruition. The starting safeties for the 1993 Cowboys were James Washington and Thomas Everett. In 1994, Switzer named Woodson as the starting safety and Darren garnered his 1st of 5 consecutive Pro Bowl selections, and he was an All-Pro selection in 3 of those 5 seasons.
Glad somebody recognizes Woody. The Woody play I remember is in the divisional round against Philly in Jan. '96. Rodney Pete tried to run for a first down.....and when he got to the sticks: Woody was waiting on him. KO'd him out of the game.
If I had my pick of any jersey # from all of those Superstars who won Superbowls, and played in pro bowls, and did so many incredible things on the football field, #28 would be the Jersey I choose first. Just an amazing player and person. He's all time top 10 NFL Safety, no doubt and for those who know football, I'm certain they'd agree.
Woody was the cousin of my friend Ricky Reed and I remember asking Rick to bring him to BI our job and I remember Ricky walking Woody inside the building. Coolest guy you ever met. There was so many times Woody would move me and my daughter to the front of the line in so many functions. I remember walking up to him at Prine Time 21 after he hit Rodney Pete earlier that day that Damm near decapitated Pete on the side line. I said "Woody you gonna kill somebody hitting that hard!" He look at me and look so apologetic and regretted hitting the quarterback so hard. He has a heart of gold congratulations in advance on making the HOF. Much Respect 🙌
I don't believe that there's ever been a safety as well rounded and could do as much as Darren Woodson....EVER! Sliding him all these years for the HOF, speaks totally about those voting for the HOF'ers, verses what Darren put on the field in pro bowl play at various positions. With that, name any other safety ever who could besides Darren Woodson? You can't!
Against Vincent Jackson. I remember watching that live as a kid thinking he killed him. Might be the most memorable non-important game in Cowboys history.
I didn’t know what happened, because I didn’t have a computer or a iPhone back then. I have always thought you and Roy were the toughest secondary the Cowboys ever had, hitting the biggest, fastest back the Cowboys ever had, Hershel. If you could contain him, you had control of any football player with speed & size.
They dont make players like Darren anymore. I went to Maryvale High school at the same time as Darren and I know the dangers and trials he went through. His character, and his will to win is a relic of a bygone era. I watched 1 episode of Hard Knocks and I knew right then that none of these players are like Darren. Players these days are too entitled. A coach like Jimmy Johnson would not even be tolerated with today's players.
Woody was definitely before his time so he gets overlooked because when you put his stats up against a great safety like steve Atwater who's a HOF woody has more tackles, sacks and interceptions
It is a total joke Darren is not in the Hall of Fame! I was a Cowboys season ticket holder from '85 to '04 and saw this man become the alltime leading tackler in Cowboys history! Are you kidding me, Haley is the only Cowboy from the 90's defense in the HOF? Just because Aikman, Irvin, Smith and Allen are in the Hall shouldn't preclude Woodson from getting in the HOF!
Until now the Cowboys still haven't have a real safety, Roy Williams did a little bit under Woody wings but after Woody left they haven't found one just yet
Such a well-deserved Hall of Famer If John Lynch can get in so the hell can Darren Woodson💪❤️🤘🤘
You Damn right about that💯 LET'S GO D WOODY 28
I can watch darren woodson all day. Guy is just greatness.
Jimmy sure could draft great players..
The Greatest Safety Dallas Ever Drafted
EVER!!! YESSIR

Please bro don’t lied jajaja
Has always been one of my favorite players. Definitely a HOF'er.
Great Deep Blue guys!!! The day woody retired hit me hard, he was the last member of the 90’s Dynasty and that day was truly the end of an era!!!! The fact he’s not in the HOF is ridiculous, I can’t wait to see him enshrined in the very near future!!!
Let’s get Mr.Woodson into the Hall of Fame. Loved to watch him play. Mr Woodson would ALWAYS BRING THE WOOD!!!
I agree with the content here that Darren Woodson should be in the HOF and how he's not already in there is a great injustice. FIX IT VOTERS!!!!!
Probably my favorite Cowboy player. The nicest athlete I've ever met. Still can't believe he's not in the HOF
D woods best safety in cowboys nation !!!
We love D Woodson. He deserves to be in the Pro football Hall of fame.
Absolutely superb documentary, and I have a newfound appreciation for Darren Woodson, both as a player and as a human.
Darren Woodson needs to be in the NFL Hall Of Fame no question. It's long over due #28!!
He NEEDS to be in the hall of fame!!!
I love that with the emmitt story. Hell yea it's about winning
So consistent. Very reliable. Very underrated DB.
He is definitely the best safety I watched I saw all his games he was best player at his position and he us such a wonderful person he deserves to be a hall of famer
You guys do such a great job of producing these masterpieces.
This Woodson good defend I have a lot respect for this guy thanks Woodson for good years in Blue Cowboys.
Darren Woodson is HOF worthy. Give the man his due!!!
🏈🏈 THIS YOUNG MAN WAS THE BEST SAFTEY TO EVER PUT ON A DALLAS COWBOYS UNFORM.
Love these deep blues. Keep them coming!!!
Darren Woodson is my dude. He was the truth. You could argue he's one of the greatest safeties ever.
The guy was always in the right position and could really tackle. Smoothest defensive player I ever saw.....and yes he played slot safety/LB at that size and covered the likes of Jerry Rice....was before his time, and his character is undeniable...........he deserves to be in.
Factz!! Oh and he could hit like a Mack Truck!!
Grew up in the same neighborhood as Woodson in AZ.. He may not know it, but young football players look up to him to this day in Maryvale!
Darren Woodson should be in the NFL HOF without a doubt!
My all-time favorite player. Go D
What made Darren Woodson great was that he was big with linebacker size with safety speed. His rookie year he played spot duty on special teams and won a Super Bowl. Second year he won the starting job from James Washington. He never relinquished it.
Love the love and recognition towards his mother😢...I have my hard work ethic from my momma too...Great Docu..🤠
One of the best football players to play for America's Team. And that's saying A LOT.
HOF YESTERDAY TODAY TOMMOROW. 4.38 SPEED. HIT WITH POWER. BEAUTIFUL AT PLAYING THE RUN.
Amazing player and even better man. Privileged to know him.
I actually remember it was the same game just because he was my favorite safety to watch
This man is definite HOF...so much better than several safeties currently in the Hall.
Darren Woodson is my all time favorite player.

How is this guy not in the hall of fame yet
This one was great!
If you think it’s time for Darren Woodson to be inducted into the Hall of Fame and deserves to be right next to his teammates and Dallas legends, gimme a “Hell Yeah!”
A big Hell yeah!!
He needs to be in hall of fame most deserving player it's a crime still waiting process doesn't make sense
Should be in the HOF. IDK what more Darren Woodson could've done
28 IS A HALL OF FAMER he will be there
You will be in the hall Darron just remember you were the last champion to leave the field and turn out the lights as so you are the one and the best is last hold tight bother and enjoy that journey to your fans your already there and you will be there and we all can’t wait to see it happen # greatest safety ever
I sincerely believe that Darren Woodson should be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Factz!!!
Don’t forget Woodson had a sick ass hit in that Seattle game that was unjustly called helmet to helmet.
Against Vincent Jackson. I remember watching that live as a kid thinking he killed him.
Might be the most memorable non-important game in Cowboys history.
@@shawnpilgrim2355 yup, it was Darrell Jackson. I almost thought it was Bobby Engram.
@@gillyac81 you’re right. At least I got Jackson right lol
Great stuff!!!!! Love me some Woody!!!!!
Should be in the hall if fame
Should be hall of famer
Respect: they dedicated a show for his name
Nice piece Mr Eagleton . Woody should for be a HOFer
He belongs in the HOF, period.
I didn’t know what happened, because I didn’t have a computer or a iPhone back then. I have always thought you and Roy were the toughest secondary the Cowboys ever had, hitting the biggest, fastest back the Cowboys ever had, Hershel. James Washington was a stud too !!
How many Cowboys fans got a real nostalgia trip seeing Dexter Coakley with the big neck protector on? 😂
Let’s gooooo
Crazy how they skipped this guy year after year true hof player
❤️❤️❤️
Even Ware needed help now Lawrence have help see what it do this season for our defense
I’m Dallas Cowboys to are die I’m Blue let’s Go Cowboys

Who is in 2023 watching this Doc..?
last great secondary player the Cowboys had, and have ever had!
Jimmy sure could draft great player's...
Who tf would hit thumbs down smh
Some fan of an NFC East team or some other team Dallas has laid too many L's on over the years!!! Or maybe just a pussy ass hater.
#Facts
Peace to Freddie Luke! Those who know, know. 😉
None of those safeties she mentioned can compare to Woodson period!
If you smart this man should be making You lot of money
I wish Woodson was the Cowboys head coach.
Woody was definitely before his time so he gets overlooked because when you put his stats up against a great safety like steve Atwater who's a HOF woody has more tackles, sacks and interceptions
I didn’t know that he played with a broke arm. That’s Jack Youngblood stuff right there.
😭😭😭😭😭😭
The truth
Ain't No Way in the world that that man should be in the Hall of Fame.
Put him in the HOF yesterday.
Hof player in my opinion
Literally went to the hospital during the game to get a cast for a broken arm and come back to finish the game?? Jeez
It is a total joke Darren is not in the Hall of Fame! I was a Cowboys season ticket holder from '85 to '04 and saw this man become the alltime leading tackler in Cowboys history! Greatest Cowboy.......EVER!! KISS my ass! Fight me!! LOVE YOU D Woodson. Best ever to play the position!!!
He will get is you know why BECAUSE JIMMY SAID SO!!!!
Never got the credit he deserves
