Great Recap Show, Really Enjoyed Skeleton Crew, but the supervisor was not Palpatine. Check the credits. The Supervisor’s voice was Stephen Fry, not Ian McDiarmid
More evidence that Star Wars is completely and hopelessly out of touch with its audience. They spent the last ten years spitting in their fans faces and insulting them. Now they are acting surprised when the fans have finally tuned out. I have no interest in Star Wars the franchise is dead. They killed the original characters that made the universe special, it does not matter if any of these new shows are good or not, the world has already been destroyed.
Are they actually shocked by any of this. All we have been telling them for a decade is eventually the anger will turn to apathy if you keep ruining starwars. That has happened, no one gives a shit about starwars anymore
This is a stupid thing people say. Nobody asked for 99% of the stuff we have gotten, the good and the bad. People don’t know what they like until they suddenly like it. For example, nobody was asking for a Star Wars movie in 1977.
Like I said. I've nothing left to give now but apathy and I think that can be said for most people now. This show from what I've heard, despite being more aimed at childern, was not half bad. But it really doesn't matter anymore. The damage done to this brand for the past decade now has just turned off so many people now that many can't bring themselves to care in the slightest anymore. Like I've said before, my investment in this brand was done after what they did to Skywalkers and their legacy in the Sequel garbage alone. Everything else from Obi-Wan, Boba Fett, Ahsoka, the Acolyte, and whatever else trash they've shat out is all just collateral damage, or rather beating an already long dead horse. I've moved on from Star Wars now, with the only exception being the old video games from the LucasArts days.
I'm having a hard time believing everyone stop caring about star wars considering nobody will shut up about it. Most people are a broken record repeating the same line over over again

I absolutely agree with Apollo about Wim's father. However, he was there for his son in the end. He understood what was happening, he was afraid, but still went all in and helped in the end. So, I guess even he ended up better than he was before.
The show sucked. The writing sucked. The kid actors were terrible. The main character only knew "angry and about to cry" face. I don't care if this was the "best" they've done so far. I don't care if the writers "at least like star wars". Some people are giving this show a pass, but I really can't see why. Just because it has a few good moments doesn't mean anything. People are accepting mediocrity when they should be demanding excellence
Disney probably could've randomly picked a name out of a telephone book to write and direct Star Wars and it would've sold better because there wouldn't be a sinister agenda attached to it. Yes, I suppose "liking" the franchise you're writing for is a good starting point. It took them a decade to figure this out.
I say once again. This is not the independant Lucasfilm we all loved. That's gone forever. This is Disney/Lucasfilm. They don't have a clue what they are doing and so can never fix their own destructions. They don't understand why Rogue One is good and The Last Jedi is awful.
My son used to eat, sleep, and breathe Star Wars. Now he's 15 and doesn't give a 💩 and won't even look at it if it's made by Disney. I imagine there are a lot of kids who got into Star Wars with The Force Awakens and then were badly disappointed by everything else.

Not sure if it throws Lornes theory out or not but the supervisor is voiced by Stephen Fry. I will say the supervisor does sound similar to palpatine in the prequels before he reveals himself as a sith and does have some quotes similar to him.
For me Star Wars died a couple of years ago. The sum of the last three movies and the Madalorian kept me from keeping my Disney plus so I’ve not watched Disney plus these past couple of years and KK can be held responsible.
I agree with Lorne, perhaps they even do an Abrams reboot and use the nine At’s to build Thrawn’s fleet as to finally import the real sequels ( zahns that is).
I know there’s apparently a deleted scene where the woman Jedi was taking care of the Young now pirate captain, but, when he was giving his backstory, I assumed he was telling a half truth and essentially lying about it as all pirates do.
It wasn't good, it just wasn't insulting like The Acolyte. It wasn't Star Wars, that's for sure. A Padawan is not a Jedi Knight. A Sith Diciple (no they are not called Acolytes) is not a Sith Lord. Lots of them never become Lords or Knights. Assajj Ventress for instance was a Padawan, a Diciple and a Night Sister. She then turns back to doing good but that dosen't make her a Jedi. Ahsoka is also not a Jedi Knight, she refused her Knighthood and became The Fulcrum. This is just a force sensitive person who is a Pirate. A Jedi Knight said he had potential and was killed. The Force is the Force, not an order.
It was slop thrown away to die, Between its holiday release, on the heel of the acolyte. It was good but after Obi wan, Mando s3, Boba fett, Ahsoka and The acolyte The slop have destroyed the impact of a "good" show.
I watched the first 3 episodes when the released. They were passable, then something came up when the fourth one dropped and i wasn't interested enough to catch back up.

@@chasehedges6775 Same. But I extend it to the whole of Disney canon at this point. For me, Star Wars as a franchise ended on October 30th of 2012. The moment George signed the paperwork and sold it all off, the franchise was done. Everything that has come out with it since, much like what Amazon's Rangs of Power is Tolkien's universe, is nothing more to me but big budget poorly written high school fan-fiction. The only thing I can say I've legit enjoyed that has been put out of the Disney umbrella, has been Jedi Fallen Order, but I still regard it as fan-fiction regardless because it's still at the end of the day tied to the Disneyverse.

@@linkinparkrulz2275 Revenge Of The Sith was good and yeah.
No one asked for Space Goonies
One-Eyed Willy would make a more compelling antagonist than anything they've come up with.
This is a stupid thing people say. Nobody asked for 99% of the stuff we have gotten, the good and the bad. People don’t know what they like until they suddenly like it. For example, nobody was asking for a Star Wars movie in 1977.
I honestly thought Wim's Dad was gonna be the pirate captain that crashed the ship on the planet originally. But that sadly that never happened.
Apathy is Death - Kreia
Star Wars died in 2017. Its been on life support since then.
It died in 1999 with the PT hate and when Geogre Lucas sold it.
@ Phantom Menace brought Star Wars to new generation of fans. So I wouldn't say it died at that time. It truly died when it got sold to Disney
I can agree with that definitely
It is downing in the bacta tank
We'll said, man. Well said.
Revenge Of The Sith and Ewoks The Battle For Endor are still good, IMO.
I'm having a hard time believing everyone stop caring about star wars considering nobody will shut up about it. Most people are a broken record repeating the same line over over again
@@animezilla4486the viewership numbers alone tells u no one cares about SW anymore.
@@animezilla4486 The abysmal viewership numbers for almost every new show they bring out and declining merchandise sales say otherwise. And let's be honest here, if people stopped talking about Star Wars completely, shills like you would still spin it as: ''See! Nobody is saying anything bad about Star Wars anymore, therefore it must be doing great!''
You cannot say this is better than The Last Jedi, because at least The Last Jedi didn’t have “2 mommies” situation (that I know of).
Disney really have to know exactly how to produce good Star Wars content. That knowledge is needed to so consistency fail at it.
Everything is less putrid than TLJ.
@mattp6089 Is TLJ less putrid than 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ in what is supposed to be a “wholesome fantasy”?
Leia and Admiral Holdo? :P
Yet, Kathleen Kennedy is receiving the American Society of Cinematopraphers Board of Governors Award. Awards are meaningless anymore.
There was nothing wrong with this show, for a younger crowd, but fine for the older crowd, but the damage Is done man, over and over again.
"Nothing wrong"
That younger crowd don't seem to agree. Apparently they can recognize crap when they see it, too.
All roads lead to Jake Skywalker
Given the person Mark Hamill is and how he acts in public maybe we all owe Ryan Johnson an apology because maybe Ryan Johnson fully understood what Luke is now based on what Mark is now. That's all he was doing maybe he was just putting that out there. Things that make you Go hmmm...
@ Nah, I just despise them both now
Blue merchamel milk for everyone!
I just don't know what to say we've been screaming and yelling for them to do the right thing for years for them to have the gall to actually be surprised that once again something they tried to give us that we didn't ask for is being rejected? What a joke. These people are a joke
That was supposed to be Palpatine voicing the Supervisor, as in Ian McDiarmid? I looked it up, it was Stephen Fry, so it couldn't have been Palpy.
I lost all interest in SW tbh. I even lost interest in going to SW land whatever it is at Disney Parks to. I dont even care to research the actual name of the rides or anything lol
Maz Kanata wore glasses
My son used to eat, sleep, and breathe Star Wars. Now he's 15 and doesn't give a 💩 and won't even look at it if it's made by Disney. I imagine there are a lot of kids who got into Star Wars with The Force Awakens and then were badly disappointed by everything else.
Their failure is now complete
💯👍. Indeed.
Kathleen Kennedy has destroyed Star Wars Fire Kathleen, fire Filoni, make Jon Favreau president...
Geetsly's canon rules all...
So beautifully sculpted and rendered, a true dissemination of Star Wars lore...
The captioning of this series, this site, is absolutely extraordinary. It is my primary reason for accessing Geetsly's fantastic content.
I don’t know what Disney and LucasFilm expected. Luke was the hero, and they shite on him and made it gross. Then they fired Gina Carrano. The Acolyte was the last nail in the coffin.
Disney couldn’t make an Old Yeller in 2025. Well not without inserting a girl boss.
I keep hearing it's a good version of the goonies, but I just wanted something more... IDK...Starwars?
Disney Star Wars doesn't want old fans, so they didn't watch
Disney Star Wars has been Woke, so no one let their kids watch
Oh wait! Look! The Modern Audience! All 10,000 of them! Yeah, they didn't really watch either.
Almost everything Disney touches turns into dust.
Rogue One isn't good all. It's Mary Sue adventure that rewrites Star Wars lore.
His name was Kyle Katarn. SAY HIS NAME!
Apathy sat in long ago and _those people_ can no longer lie to themselves that it wasn’t their fault. ____ poor planning prevents proper performance!
Truly the reason why I stopped watching Star wars was because it was too woke and I'm getting sick of it
The plot of the finale has these young kids doing stuff WAY above their pay grade which is frustrating and takes me right out of it.
‘They’ ruined all the good issshhhh yuk
Not sure if it throws Lornes theory out or not but the supervisor is voiced by Stephen Fry. I will say the supervisor does sound similar to palpatine in the prequels before he reveals himself as a sith and does have some quotes similar to him.
For me Star Wars died a couple of years ago. The sum of the last three movies and the Madalorian kept me from keeping my Disney plus so I’ve not watched Disney plus these past couple of years and KK can be held responsible.
"Help us Obi-Wan, you're our only..."
Audience: "NOPE!!"
I agree with Lorne, perhaps they even do an Abrams reboot and use the nine At’s to build Thrawn’s fleet as to finally import the real sequels ( zahns that is).
The voice actor for the Supervisor was Stephen Fry, who I don't think has played Palpatine before......
It's locked behind an expensive and exclusive paywall... What did they expect...
The Supervisor I'm 90% sure was voiced by Stephen Fry. I'll have to look it up to be 100% sure. But I don't ever remember him playing Palpatine.
Quite frankly Skeleton Crew description was SO bad I had to take a break and watch a Looney Tunes cartoon, just to avoid a brain Aneurysm!
Wilfred Brimley shout out was just... cool. Thank you.
I know there’s apparently a deleted scene where the woman Jedi was taking care of the Young now pirate captain, but, when he was giving his backstory, I assumed he was telling a half truth and essentially lying about it as all pirates do.
Blue Comb-Over kid? Come on...
NO THANKS
Hate to break it to you, but Stephen Fry is the voice of the Supervisor, a large droid who is the ruler of At Attin not Palpitine.
You’re right about the Supervisor, that’s Stephen Fry, but SM33 was Nick Frost
How are they stunned? How can they have any kind of expectation of success at this point? They have failed continuously for decades now!
Because they are a cult.
the way young star wars fans were made largely came from exposure by adults, disney destroyed that
It was slop thrown away to die, Between its holiday release, on the heel of the acolyte.
Stunned? If repeatadly make the same mistake each time warned that it will fail and you keep doing it then at some point you really should stop being suprised when it it yet again fail.
The Last Jedi movie was so bad, that I stopped ALL Disney Star Wars shows/ movies after that. That was inexcusable. Never again.
"Hope is the first step to disappointment".
I'm gonna be honest, I didn't even know this show was a thing until this video, from a channel I've also never heard of, dropped it in my recommended
Kudos to Kevin! That retelling was wonderful.
Why isn’t the modern audience watching Star Wars????
The younger actors and Jude Law and their performances were the only good/decent things about the show. Otherwise, it was meh/mediocre.
I wouldn't know. I haven't cared for Star Wars since they wiped out all the Skywalkers, made their whole legacy a joke, and gave everything to Palpatine's bs granddaughter.
True but I just pretend the ST doesn’t exist. It’s not
Canon.
@@death-king1834 💯. I also think it ended and died back in 1999 with the PT hate and people misunderstanding them.
@@chasehedges6775 I honestly can't get mad at the Prequels anymore. They have a lot of flaws (but then again I'm someone who has the balls to also admit that even the ''sacred and holy'' OT is far from this flawless work of art many people with their rose-tinted glasses try and pretend it is), but I do respect Lucas on ambitions for the story he was trying to tell, as well as his attempts to expand on the universe of his creation, even if the execution could have been a bit better. Which is far more than I can say for Jar Jar 'copy cat' Abrams, Rian Johnson, or basically everyone else under the Kathleen Kennedy/Disney umbrella.
It's funny to see Lorn throwing shade at people. He seems like a nice, sweet guy. He's the Wilford Brimley of the group.
Jonas, thank you for the princess bride reference...thats the. best Star Wars Ive heard since rogue one and the only time I laughed or smiled regarding Star Wars since the same time.
Another EU reference: Winn's datapad depicts a scene in which a jedi with a green lightsaber is facing off a rancor.
It is literally an attempted Sci Fi reboot of the Goonies.
I'll admit, I liked Skeleton Crew, but I wouldn't have watched it if my brother hadn't shown me it over the Christmas holidays. And the first episode would have turned me off for how much it drags.
I like Skeleton Crew, but I'm not sure it's worth the Disney+ Subscription fee to watch it.
I just finished it this morning, it was just OK. Nothing to write home about. Could have been a better story. The adults other than the pirates were basically useless, they were helpless and the young children were the more capable than any of the adults from the planet.
They should be used to this by now.
The answer is Apathy, at this point most people just don't care anymore and that is the death of any franchise
I am a struggling artist and Hispanic woman yet I still don’t have a job at Disney . DEI is a woke joke. Unless it is where I live or it is not inclusive, only to friends , people they know and family or A.I?
Ok, am I the only one who thought one of the talking Xwing pilots was Luke Skywalker? Exact line as one of the movies.
Its sad that they're wasting so much money on a dead brand.
leave him alone, he's already dead ;-)
I've been burnt to many times by Disney star wars,
I ain't watching anymore and never will
I'm completely done
A series with children and for children, was supposed to be on some bestseller list? From kindergarten, I think! These people at Disney really think we're that childish? They really are from outer space or a fairy tale! First Woke, then kids. And things get awfully weird.
Marvin and Lorn are basically describing the She-Ra effect.
Chris Gore said it best. Turning SW into a girl brand was the worst mistake they've ever made. Skeleton Crew might have been decent. But the damage was already done
They lost old hard core fans when they KEPT kk and fired Gina. We cancelled our DPls account (event with grandkids). TIRED OF BEING SLAPPED IN THE FACE. You lost us, disney. Blck Mermaid - really? Ariel is white with red hair.
It’s cute that Lorn thinks they have a plan.
I would like to add something to the EU section. In the Dukoo Novel, there was a fellow padawan who left the order and ended up becoming a pirate .
"It's like seeing that kid you don't like taking an X-wing and not using it right. Like taking your X-wing and using it as a teapot at a tea party. He doesn't know what to do with it." THANK YOU for making nerddom this funny again. I've missed moments like these. XD
Skeleton crew was best since Rogue One, deserves 2nd season. S1 finale was great
The young stars have bright futures 👏
I don’t care how good it is. I feel nothing but a mixture of apathy and contempt for Disney Star Wars.
My son that’s 7 seems to like the show and clapped when the x-wings showed up and now wants to see the GL Starwars. Which makes me happy.
Big climactic reveal on Star Wars Glasses and they still Fuhked it up, calling Ewoks Battle for Endor (the 2nd one) the Ewok Movie (the first one). The Quaker Oats Old Man was only in the 2nd one.
Star Wars could have been saved even after Last Jedi movie. But now especially after Acolyte, there is no way Star Wars or Lucasfilm can be saved. KK she has to go before it can be saved.
I DONT HAVE DISNEY IN THIS HOUSE ......I WONT HAVE DISNEY IN THIS HOUSE .....
I keep hearing people complain about the death of the robot. Didn't 3P0 get blasted, ripped apart, and put back together no worse for wear in Empire? I really don't get why people are complaining about that.
