Worse than that. Driving them all apart, making Han and Luke pariahs, blaming one for breaking up a marriage and the other for turning Ben evil. Pretty much burned down all the wonder and good feels in the original 3 movies and blamed the evil white guys for it. Leftists love to destroy families, whether on screens or real life. This was, imho, the most colossal fail under her tenure. We were only going to have ONE chance to have all three of them back together for a new trilogy and the sequel trilogy is what we received. It's depressing.
Simple enough fix. You pick a new head of Lucasfilms, someone from outside and cite the need to move in a new direction. That person creates and couple of new departments within Lucasfilms and brings in more people from outside to work on some new projects. You let the existing teams there work on new ideas and if they're garbage you just don't green light them. The new teams probably have a few good ideas that do get the go ahead. A year or so down the track the new teams are being productive and getting stuff made, however most of the old teams ideas aren't going anywhere. So you announce layoff, and those layoffs happen mostly in the old KK hired teams. You can also do things like create positions, for example move people to the new Ryan Johnson trilogy. Then 6 months down the track, you pull the plug on that and let go the people attached to it.

Nope. The whole upper tier of the movie biz is stacked with ideological drones and one less will not matter. She will be replaced by worse -- up-and-coming "creative" people are even more woke and weird.
As crazy as it sounds, to conventional sensibilities, this may actually have been deliberate 'cultural defilement'. Yuri Bezmenov (ex-KGB) warned us (in the famous interview) that the Marxists will deliberately subvert and defile western culture from the inside, especially targeting youth, because it can't win a military or economic victory. Star Wars was perhaps THE most powerful and important piece of 'sacred mythos' that modern western society had, especially for young people, because we've rejected Christianity more and more. Joseph Campbell advised George Lucas on the hero's-journey themes and archetypes for the original 2 movies, which made them so special, and Campbell said in an interview with Bill Moyers that since Christianity is waning so badly for youth, the most impactful sacred mythos was Star Wars. That makes Star Wars the #1 target to defile and destroy, if you are trying to bring down the west through a long and ongoing campaign of cultural subversion. Take the most inspirational mythos and turn it into junk that no longer motivates people on an emotional-spiritual level. It's a huge demoralization, and is very powerful. By the way, we see the same dynamic with Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, etc. Is this really all just one big coincidence? I think it would be absurdly naive to think that these billion dollar corporations can't figure out how to produce something decent. Then start looking behind the scenes in these corporations, to see any patterns with who owns/runs them. See if there's any overlap with global Marxism and that group... Things get really dark really fast when you start to notice the patterns.

As someone who worked in Hollywood for two decades, I can assure you people like her absolutely rule the industry, and they’re spread everywhere from top to bottom.
The only way to spread the message is to put it in stuff that people who don't wanna hear the message will bring their children to watch. She is far from incompetent , she was able to milk it until it died!
I have two conflicting opinions: 1: she was incompetent but saw a chance to "SPREAD THE MESSAGE" and jumped, not caring to try and get better. 2: she was pissed at George and Steven after years of fetching coffee, and who knows what else 😉, that in the end those two married someone other than her and she was bitter about not having the cushy retirement fund she dreamed of not having to do ACTUAL work for. This shit show for the last decade was the scorned woman's revenge.
The postmodern communist wants a cultural revolution. The last Jedi said it best: “let the past die, kill it if you have to” They don’t want the old world to be remembered.
The most terrifying picture that Hollywood has ever seen. Was Natalie wood, sitting at the head of the table, surrounded by the best of Hollywood. And Kathleen Kennedy, was nowhere in the picture. Because she was busy..... Getting George Lucas and Steven spielberg.... Their coffee.
That's a ridiculous and unproven conspiracy theory, and it tries to reach way too far for an explanation whose answer is way simpler: she has not been fired because Disney's execs all APPROVE of her actions. They don't care about the company loosing money, they themselves are not and will never be affected by it, and they are fully committed to the propaganda, it doesn't matter how much it costs.
The abysmal D-Trilogy, I put behind me. I was naive, and I thought they could improve in time. With Mando, I thought it was a nice change of pace, and with season 2, I was mostly entertained, more so at the end. But then I suffered to finish the Book of Boredom Fett, but Kenobi was right around the corner. Surely they couldn't get this wron-- Oh, they got it very wrong. By that point, Marvel was also floundering, the Live Actions were sharting out like so much diarrhea, and I decided to cut my ties to Disney. I watch the internet review and mock the releases that came afterwards, and I have not once regretted my decision to stop giving Disney money. I gave in for Deadpool, the honest reviewers of TH-cam were saying it was good, and I still want to support GOOD movies. But all the way up to its opening weekend, I sat on the fence, unsure if Disney would interfere and ruin it like all the other projects that they've pushed. But Star Wars.... I don't think I will come back. Not unless they actually give it to someone who wants to tell a good story, entertain the paying audience, and honor Lucas' legacy. But at long as she's there, even if they got George, himself, to direct just one more film, I would probably skip it: just to spite her and not give her the "win" she wants.
@@AgentSmith1991 I hear you my brother. We’ve all been betrayed and have awakened at different points to their defilements of our sacred legends and tales. For me, I saw the Farce Awakens in the theaters and was disgusted. It broke all the rules of good movie making. Just like back in the eighties and nineties, if a character was an instant expert at something they otherwise knew nothing of, it immediately broke your immersion and that movie was condemned to the trash heap. I should have known better but when the second one came out, the last Jedi or whatever, I still had some hope and I gave it the benefit of the doubt. I almost booed out loud and walked out of the theater that night and regret that I didn’t. No words can say. I turned my back on Disney and Star Wars ever since and will never go back no matter what and I’m glad everyone else is finally seeing it and doing the same. I honestly hope Disney goes bankrupt and we see a new era of creativity emerge from an underground grassroots movement free of the corruption that the industry has become, which is usually the case. Things go full circle. Keep seeking good entertainment my friends. It’s out there somewhere. Just don’t expect to find it in the house of mouse any longer.

Interesting. I posted a message here earlier. I guess someone didn't like it. Let me try again: It's done on purpose. De-throne and humiliate the old heroes. Dismantle the cultural symbols. Uproot the values that we used to look up to. "Chaos is a ladder," to quote pop culture.
And anyone thinking that what she has done to our heroes and role models isn't a direct reflection of the wider consequences of feminism in the West, has obviously not been paying attention, at all.
I find it even funnier that the number actually INCREASES over time instead of decreasing. Instead of their investment taking longer than they wanted to pay off it's just been a money black hole sucking more and more money into it.
The real problem with KK is that she doesn't learn from her successes: Rogue One, Mandalorian, and Andor. Rogue One had a female lead and her crew was multicultural. Mando's boss (The Armorer) is a strong female character everyone loves. Andor had strong female and multicultural characters. No one complains about these being "woke". I wonder why. 🤔

The way I see it, the Sequel Trilogy became not a continuation of the story told by George Lucas, but rather a horrifically bad retelling of the Original Trilogy, orchestrated by Kathleen Kennedy to replace Luke Skywalker as the Jedi to rebuild the order with a female character who was ridiculously overpowered with no faults, who even stole the Skywalker name for herself at the end of the ninth film. They did also employ a group of people who did not have a proper story mapped out. JJ Abrams stayed true to form, re-imagining A New Hope with The Force Awakens. Rian Johnson attempted to deconstruct the mythology and subvert expectations with The Last Jedi (and it was poorly executed). Then they dumped Colin Trevorrow from the ninth film and replaced him with Abrams who retconned and course corrected what Johnson had done and it all left things in a giant mess that should be wiped from existence.
@@MephiticMiasma JJ Abrams was left to come up with a comical reason for Snoke's existence, by saying that he was just a clone created as a figurehead for the First Order while Darth Sidious/Emperor Palpatine was pulling the strings behind the scenes, having "somehow returned" after being thrown to his death by Anakin Skywalker in the second Death Star's reactor shaft.
Kathleen Kennedy's legacy will be her portrayal in the South Park episode, plain and simple. In 30 years people would otherwise forget who exactly ruined Star Wars and Indiana Jones, but Kathleen Cartman saying "put a chick in it and make her lame and gay" will forever tie that woman's name to the downfall of Lucasfilm.

Indiana Jones was ruined earlier by Spielberg and Lucas already with that Crystal Skull stupidity. South Park made an episode about how they raped Indy. old Indy should NOT have been milked for money at all. also the Star Wars prequels, they were watchable, but lets say uneven quality. (moreover, the third of the original trilogy was also pretty weak.) Lucas was good in putting his childhood dreams into movies, and Spielberg always had a knack for gripping the emotions of the audience. they made fantastic things in their career, but they are not flawless gods, especially Lucas. of course none of this saves the uninspired fail-train that was driven by Kennedy. Lucas created some really big hits before he started grinding them down. for KK it is just the latter.
Will it? People will still remember the drek that is Disney Wars. A lot of formerly rabid fans now couldn't possibly care less about Star Wars - they have the pre-Disney stiff and that's all they want and need. And we're a lot older now, a lot more cynical. It would take something very spectacular to even START getting us back onboard now. It would have to be better storytelling than the OT, and better special effects than the PT/ST, and even then it probably wouldn't get everyone back. Add in that the newer generations regard Star Wars as a joke franchise, and I don't see how it can ever rise to the heights even of the ST.... much less the runaway success of the OT.

Have you even noticed how the business community operates? CEOs have routinely gotten performance bonuses even after running their own companies into the ground. Not just in entertainment, but many industries. Big Three automakers who crashed out and then begged for government bailouts got bonuses. Aerospace firm "leaders" who took companies with decades of building top-tier civilian & military jets, and trashed them to the point where everything they build is no longer airworthy, got bonuses. Shipbuilders cranking out hugely expensive vessels that can never be used for their intended purposes got bonuses. Banks that squeezed poor customers for every possible dollar but then played fast & loose with their own money and imploded still got bonuses. I have to disagree. I think she had a very good head for the business side of the industry (raising funds, organizing, casting, project managing - the wheeling and dealing that keeps the industry going) but she's never had the creative talent. In her current role, her lack of creative instincts are clearly on show. Not really. On paper, there was every reason, and really no excuse, for Star Wars to be bigger than it ever had been. KK's credentials really do stretch back, but more than anything, it goes to show that credentials don't mean you'll be a good executive. I can't know for certain from where I'm standing, but if I were to bet on anything, it would be that KK secretly despised everyone she worked with, and played a masterful long con of going along to get along until she could destroy everything those men had built up over decades.
The actual Tolkien quote is "The Shadow that bred them can only mock, it cannot make: not real new things of its own." What you quoted is from TVTropes attributed to Tolkien (although it does describe the same thing).
If she did, it would be considered more like her resigning, rather than retiring, even if she left with all the benefits of a proper retirement. I can see why she would want to leave on a high note. Like Drinker said though, her ego is blinding her to the fact that she is not talented at her job. Also, she just can’t get out of her own way when it comes to her nonsense ideology-DEI is a cancer to good entertainment media, as we’ve all seen firsthand these past years.
Aren't you setting the bar a little too high? A movie that doen't make you hate everyone associated with it would already be outstanding for Lucasfilm.

She is the Palpatine of our universe.
Unfortunately, she has filled Lucasfilms with people who align with her ideology. Even if she is "retired", nothing will change.
unless the president is from outside the company and starts purging and replacing.

It's like throwing paint on Mona Lisa's painting
Also the CEO of disney being the dumbest CEO in history for not canning her ass sooner

@johnderoy916 no, they're just dumb and woke like her.
Many skeletons at Disney that's for sure 😏
Don’t forgive Disney for what they’ve done no matter what. Never forget.
I can't believe how bad episode 9 was. They just didn't plan out the last three films before they started filming. Unbelievable.
Then they dumped Colin Trevorrow from the ninth film and replaced him with Abrams who retconned and course corrected what Johnson had done and it all left things in a giant mess that should be wiped from existence.
who would have thought that killing off the big bad in the second part of your trilogy was a bad idea?

Were they that blind or did they have something held over them that would ruin them forever? It's really unfathomable that people this untalented and uncreative could have held on so long, they've succeeded completely at producing high school level fanfiction and ruining multiple billion dollar franchises.
@@HermannTheGreat Epsteiners the lot of em ;)
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if she had something on them . This is Hollywood after all .@@HermannTheGreat
She probably had a secret room full of Lucas and Spielberg effigies that she routinely burned.
[Anakin voice] "I HATE YOU!"
@@HermannTheGreat I don't know about Lucas, but I know there is a reason the girl from Jurassic Park retired from acting and won't speak about her time making that movie preferring to forget all about it. We were warned about Spielberg by a man who is no longer with us.
Can you imagine what her contract must be like for her not to have been booted long ago. What a total narcissist
They actually kept giving her new contracts, it wasn't one long one. This is what Disney wanted and now they're reaping the rewards.
"Contract"? Who needs a contract. You can't fire "die verse city" hires in 2024. They are unfireable.
Must be some dirt on them she's holding.
Makes you wonder what dirt she has on people
The only explanation is that she has serious dirt on some key people. Even with the cultural backlash Disney might face for firing a woman there’s no other logical justification for her to continue as she has.
For about 10 years you've aided my sanity, the cutting remarks are exactly perfect and being Scottish just makes it sound all the more true and down to earth
0:10 I can't believe you didn't take the opportunity to say "for one to be unburdened by what has been" here. It was a perfect setup. I'm not mad, just disappointed.
Too on the nose politically, that would be like if he said “Kathleen, you’re fired”
No coincidence that they tried to be unburdened by what has been only to realize it was no burden. The burden was what they thought could be.

The CEO’s job is to create shareholder value. How is this level of incompetence even allowed? They are actively losing out on billions to prove some ignorant point.
You think Kathleen Kennedy is not just as much part of that Old Boys Network, and be just as allowed to walk away counting her money in slo-mo while the Star Wars franchise burns down in the background? This is capitalism, get used to it. It is all about the elite swindling the people and getting away with it, about them laughing at how society are suckers taught to hope history works like like Star Wars, when really it is a story so bleak and cynical it makes Goodfellas seem like a warm-hearted comedy.

Very true, why does her face actually look like an actual corpse. It’s freaky.
More like those freeze-dried mammoths.
If she were a man, she'd have been fired after The Force Awakens.
If she were a man, she'd of been a grip,
_maybe._
SKIP KATHLEEN KENNEDY AND LEAVE NOW,
She’s gonna look like Kathy Bates in Misery-with Star Wars held captive and getting its legs broken with a sledge hammer over and over again.
Thank you , keep up the good work
I don’t understand how shareholders aren’t suing her for literally ruining a previously billion dollar brand into a joke
Because many shareholders tolerate her mistakes and have rather mixture feelings about her than negative ones.
Boggles the mind that Disney would spend billions of dollars to buy SW, give her the keys and then watch her crash the IP in ground again and again and again and again for 10 years until there is literrally nothing left to crash
Because liberal men are weak and too scared to tell a woman off.
She has another powerful man to protect her, Bob Iger. She must be very charming with these men.
Disney approved of her 'message' and was willing to spend billions to do it.
But now even Disney's coffers are running low, so they can't keep it up much longer.
"It's not about the money it's about sending the woke message." - Bob Iger
@@Apophis1010 nope, many people believe that she's got some serious dirt on her superiors, which is how she's still in the movie industry. (For example: the marvels cost 280 million dollars, and didn't have any cgi stuff as intensive as the avengers 1, which just had a budget of 220 million dollars and was significantly longer, so many believe that disney is doing money laundering.)
Her "producer" credits are basically piggy-backing off others. We see the damage she's capable of doing when given her own controls to the ship.
I have to disagree. I think she had a very good head for the business side of the industry (raising funds, organizing, casting, project managing - the wheeling and dealing that keeps the industry going) but she's never had the creative talent. In her current role, her lack of creative instincts are clearly on show. I believe she wants to be seen as a mentor and cultivator of the next generation of talent, but she doesn't really get young people and thinks just being an outspoken liberal is all it takes to be down with the kids. To quote Steve Buscemi, "Hello fellow kids".
The problem remains when people are curious and pay to see how awful it is. Curb it, nothing to see
The only way she could quit on a high note is if she retired right after smoking an entire dumpster full of weed.
I would love to know, in her heart of hearts, exactly how much realisation she has of just how much she is utterly despised by multitudes of people.
I think that South Park special got the point across
0:04 Future plans? Lucasfilm's fate was sealed when Disney bought the ownership
But marvels gonna be okay
Yup. Woke is the message. Nothing else matters.
The latest company...ever.
I don’t actually know about that…
Marvel was doing well for a while
Yup.
TIL that Kathleen Kennedy is 71. I mean fair play to her, I thought she was probably in her 50s.

The actual Tolkien quote is "The Shadow that bred them can only mock, it cannot make: not real new things of its own." What you quoted is from TVTropes attributed to Tolkien (although it does describe the same thing).
I like the subtle jab at The Acolyte. "I can't retire after that dumpster fire!"
At this point, a big win for her company would be a movie that Drinker actually likes.
Aren't you setting the bar a little too high? A movie that doen't make you hate everyone associated with it would already be outstanding for Lucasfilm.
At this point even if Disney reverses course noone should support them.
They have already shown their intentions, if they try to con you into believing they have changed and you are foolish enough to fall for it then I have a bridge to sell you!

They have to be losing money right? Again and again. Does she not have a responsibility to shareholders? Do they have infinite money, will it ever dry up. I'm not well versed in the business side of it all but something has to change.
As Spielberg said of KK: 'whatever else you say about Kathleen, one thing she's really good at is interupting people...'
