So here’s my take on this: 1. the underbelly of the helicopter is almost completely black, but there would be some diffusion lighting bouncing back off the ground onto the helicopter, giving it at least some lighting from underneath. 2. the helicopters models textures aren’t the best, making it look less convincing. There are no surface imperfections and it doesn’t resemble painted metal as it just lacks pbr properties. 3. as somebody else mentioned, there is no shadow on the floor, but there also isn’t any dust being thrown into the air by the wind of the rotors. 4. the explosions are very „air focused“. What I mean by that is that you cannot see anything flying around closer to the ground. If a missile hit, you would have plumes going in the air like in the video, but you would also have actual debris and chunks of dirt that would be pushed up by the impact of the missile 5. there are no rocket hits, you only see the explosion. Now I know missiles fly very fast, but there also isn’t a change in the number of missiles loaded on the helicopter. 6. the teleporter is a beam of energy/bright light. There would be a bloom effect and/or lens flaring from such a light source. 7. not doable in the time but the teleportation beam would have also lit up the ground beneath. Masking such lighting effects and have them look good is not a priority for a 6 day project though.. Given 6 days and 1.5k, I would have been glad to make this better 😄 Now the dude may have had other clients and thus couldn’t focus on this one project for the total of 6 days, but i would have definitely paid half or less than what was spent.. interesting video though nonetheless

I think it could have been better if the filmmaker took an HDRI on location to help with the lighting of the smoke and helicopter. If the filmaker wanted a follow up video on how to take this footage to the next step. It would be cool to see the bullet hits on the dirt be augmented with air cannons hidden to blend practicle dirt debri in the the cgi dirt. For the teleport beam, it would be cool to have practical lighintnig on set to really merge the beam into the environment.
The only thing I would have asked for an edit would have been a BIG explosion other side of the rock as you hid behind it...but it was a great sequence and I was engaged enough to wonder where the story went from there.
The footage, for that budget, was amazing! Filmmaking students (in universities, even high schools) and all others who are on a super small budget, the bar just got raised, and raised much higher. To put it differently, for all of us who's projects are almost always close to "zero", it does show that we can now (and need to) think much bigger than small budget filmmakers are used to thinking.
The scene is very far from being like Hollywood movies. The VFX artist could have done a better job by adding some shadows, missile flashes, explosion holes. These are some major things, there is much more to it such as matching the 3d helicopter to the enviroment.
The BIG BUDGET in Hollywood 40% goes to casts, main actors/actresses, extras, 20% goes to VFX, 40% goes to production management : salaries, wages, rentals, advertising, campaigns, promos, music soundtrack composers, etc, etc...🎥😌
What a horrible render that is! And that was for $1500 bucks? The helicopter comp was bad, it looked really weird as the lighting was not matching? Did he not find a good HDRI for that? I would have done 10x better than that for $100 bucks and in 12 hours.
How to shoot any video without any shake? Can we remove shake in editor and make it smooth? I would be grateful to you if you could give a sort of answer to my question as I am not able to make video without any shake! 😭😭😭
There are a number of ways to help reduce shake in your footage. The first is smooth camera movement and image stabilisation, ideally you want to capture smooth footage rather than try to fix it in the edit. If you have image stabilisation then make sure it is enabled, then try to capture the smoothest shots possible. You might be able to do this handheld with some practice if not then consider investing in a Gimble. If all this fails then try using post stabilisation. Hope this helps, good luck.
Sound design should have allowed for a quiet non-destructive ambient sound while you were strolling because you did not react to the sound of the helicopter nor any missile flaring until the first impact.
no shadow the explosions where do they come from because the helicopter shoots them when the explosion starts the pieces don't hit the ground and i don't see any shadow coming from them

Congratulations for 1 million in advance

no shadow the explosions where do they come from because the helicopter shoots them when the explosion starts the pieces don't hit the ground and i don't see any shadow coming from them
