Which edit was the best and why? Let me know below 👇🎥👌
Kristian I think. Worth of the money.
Hi, I made a purchase for your online course and didn't receive a link to lessons. I only received a receipt. Pls, someone help me!
Am sorry please one video share🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I thought both editors used too many speed ramps. Also, I think that holding some of the shots for longer would improve the edit.
Absolutely, I'd really like to see a slower-paced version of these edits. Holding shots for a bit longer and adding more meaningful transitions can really make a difference and keep viewers engaged longer.
I've been consuming your videos for a long time. Steve, I think your own editing style and choice of music used in past videos blows both editors away, and makes it hard for either one to compete with you. You've spoiled us. It's true. I felt that the music was too fast and we mainly saw a bunch of fast transition effects. If I had to choose one editor it would be the first one (more affordable one).
Greed with you.
I agree Steves edits are more pleasing to eyes and ears
Both editors did a great job.
I honestly liked the budget edit best. Didn't try to cram too much in and transitions were more watchable for me. This was a very helpful video overall.
I like the budget editor better. The reason for it is much slower than the pro editor.,
I think the budget one was better
But if you provide me with such gorgeous shots
Even I can edit
All of the raw footage is linked in the video description. Feel free to download and edit 💻👌
@@LearnOnlineVideo waow
@@LearnOnlineVideo... Wow
Which lens did you have on your phone Cpl? I need to get a new phone and was thinking of Samsun s24 ultra, but see you have an iPhone. Now I don't know which to choose! You had that great shot pushing through the railings which the pro didn't make the most of I think. Shame the budget guy didn't do a better ending (how does the story finish?!) but he was really good I think
Great video BTW!
The more expensive editor seemed to fall back on the speed ramp style transitions, (technically, they both did, but the "higher tier" editor did it more), which to me, spoke of a lack of inspiration. There were moments in both videos, (the second one specifically), where I was thinking, "That is a really cool looking - [speed ramp] - oh well, never mind. Hey that really looks - [speed ramp] - oh, I guess I can't really take in the lighting, texture and movement...wait! That looks - [speed ramp]"
Sometimes letting the clip speak for itself does more than a quick, flashy transition.
In some ways, this has been a lesson in what happens when you overuse a specific transition, which is something I've been trying to avoid in my own video editing.
By the way - Thank you again for all of your amazing tips and tutorials. They have really made my new channel pop! Keep up the amazing work!
I will give it to Kristian
I prefer budget Krystiyan’s video with better pacing (less jolting speed ramps), transition, and great music choice! However his ending could be a little more dramatic to match the Colosseum architecture. Thanks Steve!
Your tutorial is always best ❤
I’ve been looking forward to this 👍
Thank you! ❤
We really appreciate your work 👍
Thank you for these tutorials 🙏🏼
Both are good, but as you rightly said, best bang for the buck was Kristiyan.
Must agree with your assessment! Very interesting!
My choice would-be the budget one. That one is imho nicer to Watch.
You’re the best man 👏
Great video, I prefer the budget editor. I would love to get more creative with my transitions and speed ramping but I struggle with the "OCD" that every cut/transition should be on the beat and you don't necessarily have to do that to still have the right pacing for the music, would be great to see you do a video on that. When I look at ny timeline all the clips have the sane duration as in trying to natch thr beats in the bar per line etc and would love to break free from that. Cheers Darren.
Superb as always.
Great video as always. I tend to agree that the best value for money was the first edit. Both had too many speed ramp transitions for my liking but perhaps I am a bit old school!
Goooood😅
Both is actually pretty good
Both of editors work is very impressive.
Great!!! Thanks for the video 🙂👍👍👍
Nice work ❤
Thanks, I love your video
Great video tips and great editing tips which I am going to implement in my projects, thank you !!!
great job
Very nice! 10x for your shots. I will try to edit too :D
They all did I a great job 😊.
But I think I would chose Eduard with
Love from india❤❤❤❤
Sahi m bhai 🤭
Suuuuperrr
Your own editing is top notch!
All I can say is WOW💖💖
I love these comparison videos 😊
Thanks @Leeroyz1 These videos are a lot of fun to shoot, and I love seeing the results. Next time, instead of filming a location, I might try something different-perhaps a short commercial for a product or brand, or maybe a cinematic car sequence? Let me know your thoughts or feel free to suggest something you would like to see! 👌Thanks
Thanks brother for the raw footages for our practice Lots of Love From India 😍😍😍😍
Great concept for a video Steve, just goes to show you don't get much for your money in that industry. I imagine both these guys spent less than an hour in the studio to create their 60 second projects
nice lesson
I like the first it’s good to look
I prefer the first one. That one is an invitation to go to the Colosseum and its nicely done. The second one
looks more an introduction to a new thriller of a detective series playing in Rome. And its not only the
music but also verymuch the footage. The first one was the most interesting
Amazing,,,👍👍 I like Mr learn
Thank you for raw footage. It helps to understand how to shoot.
You’re very welcome. If you create your own edit I would love to see it. Share & Tag me 💻👌Enjoy!
Luar biasa bagus
The budget one seemed to connect speed wise but the pro had good sound effects
I was really surprised that Edward was over twice as much, because Christian did the better job editing. I agree that Christian’s ending fell off the edge, but overall, it felt smoother and less staccato than Edward’s, and I preferred Christian’s music. Having said that, I prefer your editing over both. Thanks for all your teaching.
Great 👍
Like the colour of the second but felt it was more style over content. Content/comprehensive can be important depending on the brief I guess. Thanks for reminding me of all tricks I’ve been lazy about recently. I think my drone has gone to my head.
A video on using drones would be cool to see. Like the DJI mini 3 pro. It seems to have a lot of features.
Thumbs up
Maybe I'm becoming picky watching your high quality videos, but I feel that your edits throughout the video are better than both of them to be honest.
I'll soon holiday and hiking be on Lake Constance in Bavaria, Germany, so I'll try the film techniques for my hiking stories. I have the Osmo Pocket3 and Sony Xperia 5III and the RX0II as travel Standard equipment included
Choice of sound and music I preferred the first one. Definitely to many speed ramps on both, but that's my opinion.
This video inspired me to make account myself on fiver ,I only have one month since learning editing from TH-cam.
First editor was decent, missing little bit of colour grading, and inspiration,
Second one doesn’t deserve to call himself “pro”my opinion,
I’ll download the footage and I’ll send you my version edited on Davinci resolve free version, thanks for video
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I'd love to see what you could do with the footage. Thanks!
❤❤
Thank you steve
It would be interesting to see two editors, one using budget software such as Filmora or iMovie and the other FCPro or Adobe. I would love to see what the budget editor in this case could produce with a limited package. Love the vids Steve.
I am not gonna post my vid as I am still an amateur but I will happily take all the raw footage and create a broll as a practice and further improve my skills! Thanks a lot for the free footage 😊😊😊😊. Keep it up steve!
Wow, Steve, what an incredibly valuable video! 😱 I’ve been following your channel for quite some time and have learned a lot, but this video blew me away. Since I have been to the Colosseum several times and know the setting and overcrowding, I was really impressed with how you handled your shot choices, angles and compositions. As for the two edits, I think #2 did a better job of meeting your Hollywood-style production criteria. Even though I don’t like seeing editing techniques overshadow content, as both edits did to different degrees, I thought #2 used the editing more purposefully (for pacing). I also thought the color grading and music choice for #2 was more compelling. Now I would like to see YOUR OWN EDIT, so perhaps you could do a follow-up video and show us that. As always, THANK YOU for sharing your knowledge and talent!
Thanks, @deborahpondermance2795! A follow-up video where I edit the footage might very well be on the cards. I really enjoy seeing what others can do with the footage I shoot, but I also love editing it myself 🙂
9:01 - is "Breif" a word to anchor my attention? 😉
Just making sure you’re paying attention. Congratulations, you passed 😀👌
Missing from the brief is "what are you trying to say?". Both left me wondering where is this story going and I'm sure the editors had the same question.
Second editor 15 sec before the end (just before the zoom pull back and zoom in) is a very untidy bit on the end of the speed ramp that looks un pro.
This is great. What lens are you using on the iphone?
Great video 🎉
Thank you 😁
I agree with Steve. The first one I could make, but the second one, some of the transitions I have no idea how to make them. The sound FX on both are good. I liked them. Steve, thank you very, very much for the footage - it's like a birthday present to me :)
But I felt like it would have been much better if it was slowed down a bit and held the shots for a little longer
Nice
Great job 👌 India
You should have dropped me a line!! That's my city!!
I posted on TH-cam a week before that I'd be in Rome! If I come back, which I hope to, I'll definitely let you know. Thanks 🇮🇹
Oh dear, missed that, but I am subscribed, try to watch as many of your videos as possible, I'm a learner and your tips are so useful
Thanks for subscribing and for your support. Rome is amazing by the way, I love your city! 😀
I'm English, but been here 44 years! It is pretty amazing
Great experience. It's seems really expensive second video but overall great video. Bravo!
Ja oglądam jako amator i najbardziej podoba mi się pierwsze wideo. Drugie jest za bardzo przekombinowane. Pozdrowienia z Polski :)
you shared fantastic video-work!see you later. 👏
Both very good but I prefer the budget edit.
Hi Steve, I love your videos. But what I'm most excited about is that you made the footage available. It's a great material for cutting training! Don't have more of your shots available? I see it as a big benefit that I can then compare it with what someone else has done. I'd appreciate tips on where to find good quality footage to practice editing - ideally your own.
Thanks, glad you found this useful, I will upload more raw files for future videos. Thanks.
Great video!
I'm planning to upgrade my gear.
What phone case and filter did you use ?
Thanks, I’m currently testing out cases and ND filters. The one one I’m using in this video is the Freewell case with VND (sorry, I forgot to out a link in the description). It’s a nice compact design, the case allows you to magnetically connect the ND filters which is really quick and handy. The case looks good so I just keep it on even when not using the ND filters 👍
I preferred the budget edit, the pace was just right. The pro edit gave me a little motion sickness, some of the effects and transitions were too fast.
nice
Hi, I was looking through your videos to see if you have done a tutorial on the gimbal you currently use, have I missed it ?
Hola, podrías realizar un films con el gimbal Aochuan Smart XE, y probar sus modos, gracias
The more expensive edit is definitely more professional however the price is not worth it.
i thought also that the first editor is better then the second one.
and steve could you please show us how you film it, with camera movments?
Both did great… But. i think the first edit would be my first choice.
Hey TH-cam, this is the kinda content I want to see from now on . Please don't suggest any more buy this, don't get that, 10 best what what videos. I want real life application photography and videography content. Thanks.
I would have to go for the budget edit. It seemed to work much better. The pro was a underwhelming.
Which gimbal are you using . Its seems that light weight? Could you please advise
which gimbal is best?
I am a novice editor and will have downloaded the files and started editing. I will probably be using different music though because the pace is just too frenetic for the subject. Now if there were actually gladiators there then maybe I could do something. ;-)
Will you even do ace pro?
I preferred the first edit, nothing was outstanding with the second to make it worth the price, so either the first one was a bargain or the second one was overpriced. A good idea for a video for your channel would be to supply a few clips to some of your subscribers, and see if they could do better, as they are probably doing similar things for their own videos!! 😉
Which extention do you use for that kind of drone shot ? Please tell, it will help us❤
Super interesting video. I'm a complete beginner and don't have a handle on anything yet. But I can't imagine handing over the editing. It has such a dramatic effect on the end result. The Pro version was much too fast for me and didn't fit the topic at all.
Absolutely, it's never easy handing over your footage for someone else to edit, especially when you have a clear vision in mind. Neither edit turned out exactly how I would have done it, but I really enjoyed seeing how others added their own spin and unique style to it. Thanks for watching.
I will try
Comparing two edits, I would like to vote for professional Editor in terms of color grading, music and overall presentation everything far better than that of average editor.😊 But, if I deeply analyze it seems to me that professional editor made your footage more artificial. While average editor kept it more realistic, not too bad.
Both very good edits although the colour grade in the budget edit was a little too cold for my liking. Also too much speed ramping and zoom transitions in the pro version.
The budget wins for overall value, very impressive
My take here is, how you film is most important .
Can you please do a video on different lens/filter options available for smartphone/iPhone and their uses.. there’s so many available and I see you use them while filming with your phone. Would like to know more about the options, how and when to use them so I can purchase the one that meets my requirements.
I hope to meet you in Morocco bro, you're welcome
I liked both edits. Some of the transitions from both editors I didn't like but overall both were good... but value for money? I believe watching your videos and from others online you can learn to edit your own videos and be just as good with your own style of editing shining through.
I don’t know how it sounds, but I have to say it was pretty unfair with your money and shots! Bringing justice to you guys 🤟 Let me edit those videos!!!”
Waawww nice Vidio,, thank you friends 🤝🇮🇩
I enjoyed the second one more to be honest, contemporary style. Could've slowed it down a bit for the pacing but usually when you do these things there's always feedback from the client after first cut isnit?
Budget one is better for me because the professional one had too many fast unnecessary transitions that we never had enough time to enjoy an individual scene
