He had influence on a lot of guitarist today. Including me. 1977 bought Alive II, when that feed back started on King of the night time world. I was hooked.
i started to play guitar in 1977 after seeing them in concert and when i seen Ace do his solo and the guitar was blowing up and smoking he sat it in a guitar stand there on stage and there i was all of 11 years old front stage, that is when i knew i had to learn to jam and so i have, thank you Mr. Frehley

He's like the only guitarist that could get away with playing a bit sloppy because he makes music fun to listen to, and that is fucking rare compared to many elite guitarists.

I was 13 in 1979 and I was lucky enough to see my heroes on October 4th, 1979 @ Veterans Auditorium in Des Moines, Iowa. Pope Jean Paul was in Des Moines on the same day, and I remember the traffic was crazy, and I don't remember much about the concert that night, because I was freaking and sat there watching with intent. Lol It was weird but for only being 13 years old, I could definitely tell there was some friction and turmoil going on in the band. And during the concert, whenever I would look @ Peter Criss, I swore it wasn't him playing. I was a huge, dedicated and observative KISS FAN and would sit in my room and have their music blaring and I would sit and draw them almost everyday for years, and I knew their faces really good from drawing them all the time and I still swear it wasn't Peter Criss on the drums. He quit not very long after I saw them, actually. Rock on and take care.
Ace made the guitar look easy to play , his free flowing style made him look incredibly cool as he effortlessly belted out blazing solos . Technically his playing may not be all that but the artistic feel of his solos are equal to only but a few guitarist. The cocky dude said yeah man with a little sarcasm in his voice. Al played Al kinds of tunes that were heavy but clean and precise. He shut the app off gave the guy guitar back, and the whole class was so silent you could hear a pin drop. The cocky fellow had his mouth hanging open as if his jaw was to hit the floor. Al said thank you for letting me play. And Al gave the best response back to this fellow and said. I quote, (Now I can party). The dude hardly said a word afterwards, but ate his humble pie. He later was polite and asked questions from a true master. In closing Ace was a great player, but he played his best when he wasn't wasted on stage.
It was the little nuanced breaks in the middle of his solos 0:59-1:18 that made Ace special. None of his solos were technically challenging, but his melodic sensibilities helped him play the coolest notes at he perfect time. One of my favorites is on Love Gun!

I wouldn't say his playing sloppy. Ace was never an insanely precise player like an 80s shredder or something. As far as I'm concerned his stays in key and his bends are in tune well when regarding solo's in songs, not his solo section where he goes nuts. Still great.

Ace the Best !!!!
DAMN WHAT A FINISH EH??? KICKED ASS FOR SURE...SMOKIN BABY !!!!
Ace got a Vinnie Vincent ear ring in. must be a wink to the Wiz
smolin' flyin' guitar- only the plumber can do it
Ace always had and did good solos like no one else
Sorry Tommy. You're not Ace.
your damn right
Tommy Is Far From Being Ace. Tommy is 100% better than Ace. Ace will always be the original G player for KISS and loved and missed but Tommy is the better guitar player. As Bruce Kulick is as well !
ace is good as ace but tommy showing other good play in kiss
Very good Terra Firma 😂😂😂😂
@@TracyGunz bullshit Tommy will never sound like Ace even playing the same songs.
Super solo Bravo ace!!!
the greatest that ever lived
DESCOBRI A IMPORTÂNCIA DO ACE NESSE VÍDEO!!
The true sound of the Original KISS! Frigging ACE FREHLEY and it's Fray-lee folks NOT Free-lee.
@ 5:00. the only way to experience Ace is live
after watching this now i want to play electric guitar!
One of the greatest guitar moments in Rock history right there! The guitar spinning away into the night is legend!
@@hardyzfate5168 he's still inspiring people
Here before their biopic comes out and this video reaches 10 million views
I had no idea Nigel Tuffnel was even in Kiss!
Ace's solos age better over time than most of KISS's catalogue
The guitar spindles into darkness
Ace....Van Halen....Yngwie and George Lynch. The Mt. Rushmore of guitarists!
Steve Vai? Angus Young? Glenn Tipton? Me?
@@Daniel-Weaver 😂 lol...I've heard of the others but not you bro. Those 3 you mentioned are awesome (especially Angus) but if I had to pick a 5th it would probably be Warren de Martini from Ratt, or maybe Slash from GnR.
Shit,PAGE,BLACKMORE,GIBBONS, IOMMNI.JEFF BECK,SRV,PERRY,ROY CLARK,,I am not saying your Boyz can't play but these musicians are rock gods
Star child my favorite ❤
God bless Tommy T, but he will never be as cool as Ace,,,,or play like him,,,,listen to the solo at the beginning of Strutter,,, those squawking notes ,, damn ,,, the body language, moves and stage presence ... can be imitated but not duplicated. Legendary!
Ace rules
Ace Frehly
Best solos wow
the first 4+ minutes were friggin awesome
The impression i have after watching this is that Ace is somewhere in between Jake White and LiL Wayne. 🎯
Never understood why almost e very Ace solo has the old outdated video effects. His showmanship is much better than any effect.
ACE is God!
I ❤️ ACE!
i think Ace sounds better than Slash
wow that's a very insightful comment...how can you say just sounds?, what about technique?...
+guillermo kuri yo calm down man i was only joking. they both sound good.😑
Actually I agree
Aaron Johnson well at least YOU agree with me.😃
you are 100% correct...ACE IS A DISGRACE TO THE GUITAR AND MUSIC IN GENERAL...THE AVERAGE, AND I SAY VERY AVERAGE 12-13YO NOODLING AROUND AT THE GUITAR CENTER BLOWS ACE FREHLEY AWAY..THE GUY SUCKS AND HE'S JUST LUCKY THAT HE WAS AT THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME TO BE A MEMBER OF AN ICONIC ROCK BAND....HE WOULDN'T HAVE MADE IT ANYWHERE ELSE, THE GUY HAS ZERO TALENT, ZERO, TECHNIQUE, AND ZERO CREATIVITY...AND ZERO PLUS ZERO IS ZEEEEEROOOOO!!! AND HE'S A BIGOT ASSHOLE TO BOOT, THERE ARE JUST NO REDEEMING QUALITIES ABOUT THE GUY....HE'S JUST THE LUCKIEST, SUCKIEST WAANA BE GUITAR PLAYER EVER....
Ace your awesome talent
