    There are also a lot of unincorporated areas around Raleigh that are great. I live near Yates Millpond just south of downtown. It’s is not within Raleigh city limits, but I am 5.5 miles from downtown and it feels like I am out in the country. I literally have a cow pasture in my back yard. Some of the neighborhoods in this area are beautiful. The only downside can be traffic. All 2 lane roads and traffic can back up for a mile at certain lights during rush hour.

    I remember when we moved to Raleigh back in 2013 my realtor kept showing me homes in Apex, Hollysprings, Durham and Cary. I didn't see anything that I wanted to buy in those areas.
    We found a beautiful brand new home on the far east side of Raleigh. We absolutely love the location.
    Now we are looking to buy a second home in Knightdale or Garner. Beautiful state.

    We moved from the UK, about an hour north of London, to Mebane. Hillsboro is nice, Burlington too, Mebane is a nice little town and the commute to Raleigh might seem a lot if you're from the area, but for a Londoner this is nothing! I have friends in California who would love an hour commute and come home to green space and a nice place to be. Best not tell anyone though, might spoil it!

      I actually just closed on a house in burlington! I work in greensboro but my fiance will be working in durham or chapel hill once we get married. Kinda nice how you have the option of commuting to the triad or the triangle areas as they're both about 30 - 40 mins from burlington/graham/mebane.

      @Crow My wife was in the US military, so easier for me to get a visa here. Also her son is in NC, and the jobs are here. East coast is easier to get back to the UK. We considered Colorado too.

      @@crowhomestead7552 The summer is pretty brutal. For me, working in the garden for more than 30 mins is my limit. Carry a water bottle and wear a hat. But... A/C everywhere and a pool helps! Bugs don't bother me, we have the house sprayed every 3 months which keeps them out mainly, I don't get bitten much if at all. There are big, evil looking hornets though, and carpenter bees. The DIY stores have suitable death sprays for them, just keep your eyes out.
      I'd rather have 100 degrees and humid than 85 degrees in central London.

    I have lived in Clayton/Flowers for 16 years. I love it!!! You get way more bang for your buck here. CLAYTON (Cary Like Area Yankees Take Over Next) (I'm one of then Relocated NYer) My wife and I escaped NY one year after being married to Knightdale. Being a young couple we looked for a place where we could get the most for our money. Clayton/Johnston County was the place for us. We are in Flowers. The 42 East area has grown like crazy. You can still get more bang for your buck in this area. I work in Smithfield and My Wife works for Wake County so we are in the middle so it works great for us.

    Hi Chris love your content and been subscribed since 2020 when we discovered your channel! What’s your opinion on the future growth and property values of Rolesville given it’s proximity to Raleigh? I see there are a lot of new developments and projects being proposed or in progress over there. Also, with the growth of Wake Forest/Knightdale do you think Northeast/East Raleigh (Capital Blvd) will be redeveloped to accommodate this growth?

    • @LivinginRaleighTV
      @LivinginRaleighTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Rolesville has just exploded in popularity. It’s kind of merged with Wake Forest at this point. The only thing holding it back is lack of nice restaurants and shopping- although I think it’s coming and plus you have the close proximity to all Wake Forest has to offer.
      And yes, In my opinion, I have to imagine US 1 will get redeveloped in the future. Things are moving to Oxford and Henderson, so it is inevitable things will get redeveloped everywhere between downtown raleigh and Youngsville at the least in the near future.

    I moved to Wilmington NC from the desert of Palm Springs CA in 2017, I saw my townhouse on Zillow and I bought it was only 3 yers old . Only 8 miles to Carolina Beach, 15 minutes to Wrightsville beach and restaurant, The Point Cinemas, Independent Mall 10 minutes and all in all I want to know, what do you think of Wilmington as I thinking of selling and going back to CA as all of my family lives in CA . I love it here! People are super nice and have make friends with the Southerner but, they don't want Yankees moving here as they are woke just like in CA! I agree with them as CA is a mess now ! Do you think that prices will continue to rise ? I don't want to make a mistake of selling and not be able to comeback to Wilmington. By the wayI , I flew 3 weekends here before I bought my place so I knew the area that I wanted to be in. I went looking with a real estate person but every time I saw something I like ,someone had an offer, so the 3rd time I went home disappointed and went straight to Zillow and there it was my 2,400 sq. feet townhouse, closed in 30 days as my house in the Desert was in escrow and here I 'm confused as never before! I 'm off Independent and on Carolina Beach.Hello there you all! Love it here in Wilmington NC and never moving back to CALIFORNIA, NC is great state and super nice people!

    • @LivinginRaleighTV
      @LivinginRaleighTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for sharing. Wilmington is very nice and close to the beach! Wilmington has a lot of room for growth, so unless the whole market goes bad, Wilmington prices should hold steady. I wouldn't expect to continue to see the dramatic increases we've seen for the past couple years. Fortunately those days seem to be over!
