SHIT I GUESS IM BUYING KNUCKLES CHAOTIX
Bro just completed your collection
BRO WHAT
HUH
@@SFproductions1 do you have the 32x
Oh so that's why Scott is known as the guy who owns Sonic Jam
Sadly, he's no longer the guy that owns Sonic Jam
@@RedditorGogetawhy :(
Does this mean I am now the one true owner of Sonic Jam
I own sonic jam, had from new
Its £30 over here
You will henceforth be known as "The other guy who owns Sonic Jam"
Don't say that blue border entertainment might sue
The rare Sonic games are way too expensive like Knuckles Chaotix. I love Sonic Jam SO MUCH!
W Sonic Jam lover
Grew up playing Sonic R and I still love it to this day. I really wish there were more than 5 maps. I wish somehow fans could create custom maps and characters and that game could grow and progress.
I think another reason why Knuckles' Chaotix is so expensive is because it was only ever officially rereleased once on GameTap for a brief period in the mid-2000's. SEGA themselves have also lost all interest in rereleasing the game due to it's negative reception.
Great video! Never knew these games were so rare
I actually knew jam was rare
I owned Rio 2016 on Wii U since launch, I also would love to have the Gamecube Sonic games at some point in the future
Went on youtube at the best time, great vid man!
Awesome! Thank you!
For those rare die hard collectors out there, having Waku Waku Sonic Patrol car, SegaSonic the Hedgehog, and SegaSonic Cosmo Fighter on arcade would be a neat thing to own.
I was fortunate enough to score Sonic Jam off ebay for $16 and Knuckles' Chatoix for $2 at a flea market back in the late 2000s
Sonic Jam was NEVER cheap either I seen a copy at a local game shop back around 2004 for $100
a dedicated video showing your game collection would be awesome, also great video!
I actually do once a year!
Here's the latest one th-cam.com/video/SLUVVeozkww/w-d-xo.html
@@SFproductions1 didn't know about that, thank you!
The Gamegear game Sonic Blast is common in North America, but in Japan (known as G Sonic) a complete copy is Worth 74,000 yen, while a cartridge only is worth 40,000 yen.
LOL I bought Sonic Free Riders for 12€ yesterday because I played the demo as a kid. It costs 20€ on XBox Store so I saved money. I also bought Sonic 06 for 4,70€. I do not collect Sonic games physically and also do not count double games. If I own a Sonic game in whatever way shape or form, I have it.
You should've included the dreamcast verison of Sonic Adventure 2, it used to be fairly cheap like 50 bucks but nowadays it goes for over 140 depending on the condition or even a loose disc is over 100
Thank you for covering classic Sonic Games. Its a personal love of mine since i was able buy sonic 3 Genesis in target randomly walking buy it as a kid not even knowing they even made any other sonic games
There is so many Sonic game that it would take a while to get every Sonic game in your collection.
I love r and JAMMMM
There's also the Master System games. 1,2 and Chaos are reasonably priced at 30, 20 and 50 dollars. However, Spinball, Mean bean machine and especially blast are freaking expensive.
Honestly it’s a crime knuckles chaotix is still only on the 32x. It could use a remake .
I knew Sonic R wasn’t a success, but that’s just sad to see. It deserved more copies sold. Especially for an original Sonic game on the Saturn.
Tbh I can see big gaming companies just remaking older consoles and games their own to grab that rush of nostalgia fans have, while also giving a newer way to get some older games.
Granted the new consoles would probably only run the newer games made for it, but the cost to make them would be far lower than back then and they don't really need to create much new stuff since it's based of existing technology and games.
Imagine one of those snes/genesis plug-and-play things they did a while ago, but the games aren't prebuilt in and have to be bought seperately. Why? So fans can enjoy that authentic cartridge experience! (And make more money)
I had Sonic R for PC as a kid but I sold it. Also I need to know, would it be worth it to get a used Wii U for some of the games form that era that may never be redone or redistributed?
Rio 2016 is 100% pricey because of the wii u's failure, but also because it came out AFTER the 3ds version
Sonic Jam on the Game Com would be a tough one to own. Sonic X on the leapster is pretty obscure too.
Man I remember getting Knuckles Chaotix for Christmas Many moons ago. Think I only had 2 games for my 32X. Chaotix and Doom. I got to look for them I'm sure i still got them somewhere.
I have a copy of Knuckles Chaotix, and I have been wanting to get the box for the game, but I think I will pass for now lol
Man..... You're not the only one that likes wasting mon-- I MEAN! Video game collecting as well!
Nice vid
also stopping kids from saying "stopping kids from saying" stopping kids from saying third.
I got my Knuckles Chaotix sometime in 2012 for $30 on eBay. Never thought it’d end up like the old Chrono Trigger Prices.
i'm soo glad to still own my Copy of Jam as Man I just love that version of the Classic games of that era and also was the one my dad bought at our local Blockbuster that was clearing there Saturn Inventory for Dreamcast since then I've never and will never sell my copy. :D
Here are some more rare Sonic the Hedgehog games, both from the time when Sega was in the Dreamcast era.
Sonic Pocket Adventure (Neo Geo Pocket Color, 1999): Arguably the Neo Geo Pocket Color's most popular game, this 8-bit title featured modified stages from Sonic 2 and the soundtrack from Sonic 3 & Knuckles (plus one track from Sonic Jam). This title has not been released outside of the NGPC because even though the Sonic franchise is owned by Sega, the game was developed by SNK and its code is owned by SNK as well. According to Ian Flynn, this was also the reason why he was not allowed to mention SPA in the Sonic the Hedgehog Encyclo-speed-ia. Much of the team that worked on SPA would go on to form Dimps Entertainment, the company that developed the Advance, Rush, and Sonic 4 games.
Sonic Shuffle (Sega Dreamcast, 2000). This game is a party game similar to the Mario Party series, and in fact, was developed by the same company, Hudson Soft. Sonic and his friends take turns drawing cards, using them to move around the board and battle enemies. The goal of the game is to collect the seven Precioustones. The game ends when all seven are collected, and the player with the most Precioustones at the end of the game wins. Unlike the two Adventure games, this game was not released outside of the Dreamcast. One of the reasons is because the DC's VMU came into play; it was used to hide the player's cards from the other players.
I never knew, Knuckles Chaotix was that rare, lol, hope we get a port of Chaotix and R some day.
Good video, though I thought you were going to cover the game gear ones too!
(As a former owner of Sonic Drift 2!)
I actually just bought the Sonic Adventure 2 pack you saw in person. I bougth Chaotix and all the saturn games over 10 years ago. I didn't know they were gonna be expensive. I just friggin love Sonic
Oh fr? I actually went there yesterday and didn't see it so that makes sense lol
Rio 2016 is a game I wanted as a kid when it released. Never got it but I at least got Sochi 2014 which isn’t as rare but I had a lot of fun with!
While I've heard it's not a great game, I would like to try out Knuckles' Chaotix. But not THAT badly.
the addiction to buying retro games is the same high that a gambler gets when he wins big on roulette
Truer words have never been spoken.
Yeah as a sonic fan I cannot relate I'm happy having them in compilation collections to me that's good enough , mega collection and gem collection are great
I am huge into collecting and was fortunate to have gotten these games complete, (except Knuckles Chaotix), but its tough collecting today for any game since it cost almost twice of tripple from when i started in 2018, i remember buying my copy of sonic 3 for $20ish, it shocked me that it cost tripple that now.
This is really Good Video ❤👍
for Sonic R and Sonic Jam, you could go for their Japanese releases instead since they're much cheaper (you can region-free the Saturn with an action replay cartridge)
that goes for most Saturn games in general btw, that thing actually sold kinda well in Japan (outselling the Genesis and N64)
there's also a few Sonic games on the Sega Master System, but they're really just the Game Gear games but with a wider field of view (not to mention some of them also being super rare and expensive, shoutouts to Sonic Blast for releasing as late as 1993)
oh and Adventure 1 and 2 and Sonic Shuffle for the Dreamcast, the latter never got re-released as far as I know
but yea, I think that's about it for Sonic games on Sega consoles
nice collection btw
Damn... they really shot up in price since I collected them
If I am not mistaken Sonic R had an Arcade Stand as well. I remember playing Knuckles on it.
I paid 3 dollars for the Sonic R Tectoy version in 2007.
Rio 2016 I paid 15 dollars in 2018 I think
i love sonic r so much!
Good job btw what is your favorite 2d sonic game
Odd pick but sonic rush adventure
Ok my is sonic 2
I'd hate to be known as "The Guy Who Owns Sonic Jam" when I'm dead.
I have all of these Saturn games, but yeah, I was fortunate to be 13 with birthday money to burn (on “my mom’s” eBay account, which she completely handed over to me when I was like 16 lol) in 2003 when the Saturn games were starting to go up in value, but were not quite considered retro collector items, and were just “old”. Even then though, my complete copy of R was at least $30, and I vividly remember my complete copy of Jam costing over $50, which was crazy for a used classic Sonic game at that time.
I had a complete Knuckles Chaotix back then too, but eventually traded it and my 32x to somebody online (GameTZ baybee!!), for something that didn’t suck.
I mean, do you wanna be known as the guy who owns Sonic Jam? 👀
Theres no way Rio 2016 costs that much? I got it back in 2016 and had no clue💀
Its funny how rio 2016 olympics is so expensive but then in pal reigions the game is 20 bucks
I own a copy of Knuckles Chaotix! It’s just the loose cartridge no box, but it still worked last time I tested it. I also own a Sega Nomad.
Shame we don't have alternative options... 😉😉😉
I did in fact pay $300 for Chaotix lol
*Well... I guess im a quitter than lol 😅. Cause I tried doing this a few years back and stopped onced I got to Sonic Rush.* I was around during the Genesis era so I have all of those, but alot of the mid to late 2000's ones I missed... and so many portables man.
Idk why Sonic Jam is so expensive, it’s just another collection game like Mega Collection, Mega Collection Plus, Gems Collection, Classic Collection, Origins and Origins Plus.
Apparently the Dreamcast version of SA2 only sold like around 600k copies making it quite expensive. Tho the low sales of the game makes sense as it came out 2 months after the discontinuation of the Dreamcast and the production numbers weren’t particularly high due to that. Also it had competition with Battle on the GameCube in December in Japan and February everywhere else
Also apparently the original 1998 version of Sonic Adventure is like $20-30. You’d think that it’d be a lot more as it was only sold for like 10 months in the one country the series was never that popular in. I guess it’s because it’s the least desirable version due to it being kinda buggy, only having the Japanese voice track, and also missing some other stuff from International.
There may be more than 24k copies of Knuckles Chaotix on account maybe there were a ton in production that just didn't sell. Unless that's already taken into account.
Damn I have Knuckles Chaotix from All Regions and Sonic Jam
But WHERE IS NEO GEO POCKET
Sonic Adventure 2 on the dreamcast is super expensive too it should have been there !!!
I have a complete copy
@@neon-idol2538 same here with the first game i always missing Sonic Shuffle !!!
I have that and Sonic Shuffle. The Dreamcast bundle I bought back in 01' came with SA1 and Sonic Shuffle. Pretty rare now!
@@mihela8167 yes my friend got the same bundle as you that how i have try Sonic Shuffle !!!
I did not know this thanks for the good video
Glad you enjoyed!
I own quite a lot of Sonic games at the moment but after seeing your video, seems I have a long way to go
Leuke video, maar wat is er zo raar aan deze games dan?
I found the Idea, graphics and designs of Knuckles Chaotix so great i went to strange lengths to emulate it. I managed to get a weird botched version of it on my phone with no level design and everything was gray and you couldnt even switch to the other characters😭😭. I wont let you hate on Knuckles chaotix (The game turned out to be trash)
i have the sonic saturn games and u really have to look to get the best price i got sonic 3d blast for about $60 cib and the other two for about $120 cib (which is insane but cheaper compared to other sellers) so just keep looking u will eventually hopefully find good deals 😭😭
How Ironic 3:06 Lol long live Knuckles Chaotic, Sega knew one thing about its fans if it wasn't able to breakthrough the fans back then, their kids would be the ones to
Can you do a collection video?
Also you could try to get region specific versions from Japan or Europe.
Subbed !!! I like your content bro
How expensive is Sonic Heroes on Gamecube?
How on earth did you not mention Sonic Labyrinth? I've seen this game get insane prices
Why did the rarest Sonic/Mario game has to take place in my home country?.........
So glad I was able to get CD, Jam and R when their original platforms were available; got a complete Saturn 3D Blast later on.
Also picked up Chaotix, though just the cartridge. Complete in the cheapo cardboard box is never worth it, I tell ya.
I found out that Sonic R and Sonic Jam Prices in Japan are actually much more affordable than its US counterparts since the Sega Saturn is very popular in Japan which is why Japanese Saturn Games are way less expensive today
And this is why we, the people, are importing games from Japan.🇯🇵
i remember my cousin had the sega saturn. it was a very delicate system if your disk was scratched a bit the saturn wouldnt read the disk
Fun fact, sonic world in sonic jam is a tech demo of sonic adventure 1
Good thing I was/still am a Sonic nerd. I still own all of these...even all the Saturn titles...except the Wiiu game
Sonic chaos on the master system also had low count since it was game gear one aswell
Try to find Ristar for mega drive the japanese version 😮. Ultra rare and expensive
What if knuckles chaotix was on the saturn and Sonic Jam was a launch title? It could be marketed as "the complete saga, only on Sega Saturn."
Maybe a collection of the spin offs too, but with WAY more graphical fidelity and light 3d graphics to be a selling point.
Good vid
My copy of the olympic games 2016 was broken mid game while it was loading and it has never worked since then
Darn shame Chaotix never came back.
I have Knuckles Choatix. Complete with box and manual. I didn't know that it was that valuable. Thanks for the update. I also have Sonic Pocket Adventure for the Neo Geo Pocket Color. Is that rare?
Oh yeah sonic pocket adventure gets pretty pricey too
I would've bought Origins if they put Kuckles' Chaotix in it.
Where are you getting those sales numbers from?
VGCcharts and Video Game Sales Wiki
@@SFproductions1 Do you know where they're getting their numbers from?
The wikis link all of their sources there's too many to count lol
I know its a port and not a game but sonic blast had a master system version in 1998 but its very rare to find due to being only released in brazil.
SF Productions: wasting money uh...uh... I mean game collecting me: 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😂😂🤣😂😂😂🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣😂
Yea I'm not selling a kidney for a fucking game from the 90s
Fake fan
Call me a fake fan all you want but an emulator is free for a reason @@JujuJimenezM
My chaotix used to ducking freeze all the time pretty annoying
I asked my Alexa how much knuckles chaotix was and it said (on average) around 40-45 bucks
i thought sonic shuffle for dreamcast would be worth something but the north american copy is only worth about $40 😂
Rio 2016 is rare!?
I'm glad I invested in getting this game back in 5th Grade then
*the game is mid compared to the other games, and I was so disappointed after I played it* 💀
6:17 whats the song in the background?
"You're My Hero" from Sonic 3D Blast
America man... In the UK - Sonic R complete in a second hand shop is literally below 50 pounds.
Where i live, it's soo hard to find the sonic games that i want, i mean in 2017 i was searching for sonic unleashed on the ps3 and i didn't find anything, i been went to other places from my country or from my city, so i have to tell my aunt that lives in the unite states to buy me the game.
I have a physical copy of Rio 2016, but my disc is scratched, and the game won't launch.
Everybody knows the rarest Sonic game is Sonic 2 with a line
The Brazilian versions of the Sonic Sega Saturn are pretty uncommon with them using Boxes instead of plastic cases I was able to get the Sonic R Brazilian version from bizarrely enough Japen
You’re like Nathaniel bandy, have you ever heard of him?
Yep!
