Would love to see a DNM RCP-2S video from you! I've read those DNM shocks have a couple issues stock, but the way you tinker and dial in the issues would be perfect for it. Maybe you wouldn't even be afraid of drilling out the rebound channels in the piston...

For the price point, do you think the marzocchi bomber at 299$ would be a better option than the suntour ?
They’re both really similar shocks I never rode the bomber. They’re both basically 10-year-old technology. They both suffer from extremely long piggybacks not fitting on a lot of bikes.
The bomber has a repair, manual and plenty of parts available and mechanics know how to fix them since it’s essentially a 10-15-year-old fox shock
The Suntour has a steel stanchion, making a stronger shock
Careful with both because they don’t fit on a lot of bikes because the piggyback
They’re both $399 last time I checked.
I currently running a Marzoochi Bomber CR rear shock with Cane Creek Valt Progressive Spring 500-610. Great small bump sensitivity with ramp up half way through it's travel like an air shock.
I rode the old Fox coil, which is the same as that one. It’s a good shock for sure.
6:00 I'm curious if you can tune that to have better traction on the EXT or equal traction. I can't complain on mine, but mine was tuned to the Geometron G1 frame, has spherical bearings.
Read the comments, guy wrote a long one. He may be right I need to try lighter spring on EXT.
I borrowed a Arma on my Amish bike, it had 475lb spring which is way to light and it rode really good had to close the compression, but it was amazing
Ive never wanted my rear shock to bite the dust and blow up more than now. Whats the deal with over springing a rear shock. Can i cheat more travel?

I've come to a conclusion that breaks with more modulation cause more hand / arm fatigue that breaks with on/off switches (like Shimano).
It's a tricky trade-off

amount of click of anything is IRRELEVANT. Only thing that matters is how wide the settings are. So the custom tuned EXT will probably have a smaller window of external tuning as it is already tuned for the bike and rider - making it almost impossible to tune it horribly wrong.
Look at the Cane Creek Kitsuma Coil for example. Here you have a coil that almost does not need a custom tune as the settings are SOOOO WIDE! But again - you have such a large tuning window that you can easily make it work like crap if you don't know what you are doing.
So number of clicks is about as a good performance metric as how many bananas you can fit on a frame will tell how stiff your frame is....
aslo - sounds like yo need to speed up tour reebound and add some LSC on the Suntour.
also - in the trail @ 5min 32s you say that you have less traction with the EXT as the rear wheel is sliding out. And on the next trail you say that it has more traction. Whats it gonna be? Sliding out = less traction or believe the hype = more traction?
And the suntour shock is, in your words, slower reacting - but somehow has more traction. Bud - I think you need to go to read up on what does what on a shock as the theory goes that if something moves faster - it can track the ground better. If you feel like it moves to fast you have either too fast rebound or too stiff spring. Remember the coils that EXT suggests are usually on the lower side (Same with Ohlins) as they rely more on the compression damping doing the work and not the coil. Why you ask? It's because a damper dissapates energy while the coil stores energy and must rely more rebound damping - which is not ideal as you want it to be as predictive as possible.

I ran the EXT Arma on my Amish bike with 450 lb spring way to light on it was an awesome experience. That might have been the issue.
The value is there in the EXT feels like a air shock
Not many shocks agree with my ebike, why it was shocking to have Suntour coil worked so good, 185mm FSR travel.
