I thought Ewan would be the sprinter to beat at this Giro but since he crashed I'm not sure who is the strongest/fastest right now but as I said I'm wondering how Gaviria will do. Reunite a city??? Budapest is probably the ONLY European city I'd want to visit. All the western EU big cities aren't much "European" lately. Budapest was never not united in recent years.

Yates is one of my TOP PICKS for the OVERALL WIN tho so he's the only one I'm concerned with that's ahead of Carapaz at this point in the race. People forget Van der Poel was only one second behind Wout van Aert at last year's TDF time trial, and he has still never been in a wind tunnel in his life to optimize his TT position.

It's the thing that is rarely said about mvdp, but he's so good at cycling that he competes with the best at styles he doesn't train in. He never trains ITT cause he's too busy with all his other styles of cycling. Imagine if he trained specifically for ITT's for a year, he would be a serious threat at the worlds. That guy is such a natural talent he could be good a everything, he can pick what he wants
Froome has been non-existent the last two years it is nothing new. He had an injury already and I think his next race is Dauphine if I am not mistaken. Apparently he is doing Tour and Vuelta this year but I think ISN will want to see some sort of result in the Dauphine to take him, I doubt he goes to the TDF if he isn't competitive at all.

Could someone explain why Matteo Sobrero is ahead of Ben Tulett for both GC and Youth classification. Ben finished ahead of Matteo yesterday with same time and today they again rode the same time. What is the deciding factor in this situation.
They time the time trials to hundredths of a second. Sobrero was slightly faster in the time trial, so he gets the higher spot in the general classification.

The UCI rule book applicable section: 2.6.015 Where two or more riders make the same time in the general individual time placings, the fractions of a second registered during individual time trials (including the prologue) shall be added back into the total time to decide the order. If the result is still tied or if there are no individual time trial stages the placings obtained in each stage, except team time trial stages, shall be added and, as a last resort, the place obtained in the last stage ridden shall be taken into consideration.
This would have been Biniam Ghirmay win🥇 if it's wasn't for the accident touching his back wheel almost causing him to fall. Bini u are still a winner in this giro 💪🏽
Rick Zabel got up the hill the fastest, so now he has 3 points, which is as many points as van der Poel who still leads in the general classification. Pascal Eenkhoorn was 2nd, Simon Yates was 3rd fastest on the hill.

Maybe in a next life he can be a climber. Van der Poel loses dozens of minutes in every mountain stage, not just on the World Tour level, but even in continental races like Tour of Antalya. But I don't know why would you want them to be something they aren't instead of appreciating what they are?

Can someone explain to me how a PURE CLIMBER beats the Dutch and Italian TT champion specialists and a once in a generation rider (MvDP)??? The course wasn’t that hilly, but more technical. For christ sake Yates has NEVER won a time trial in his professional career……smells like Schumacher beating Cancellara and saying the exact same post race interview statement about how surprised they are…..sorry folks…not buying this one…..
I've been watching him for nearly a decade now and this actually makes a fair amount of sense, Simon's clearly been focusing on, and getting better and better at TT's since it became clear he was going to be a GC guy for Bike-Exchange (Greenedge) instead of a Pure Climber. That said, he's been tagged by the UCI before, so it could be something untoward, but he's definitely been putting the work in.
