My grandparents used to have an aquarium and their catfish died because he jumped out of the aquarium's corner which wasn't covered by glass and then naturally died because he wasn't in water, my brother or cousin found him all dried up in the toy basket which was next to the aquarium. We knew that the catfish kept swimming up to the surface to eat food and occasionally crashed into the glass but we didn't expect that he would manage to do that in the very small spot where the glass cover didn't exist. So yeah fish aren't the smartest and you should make it cat proof just to stop this kind of accidents and thus a cat wouldn't be able to do anything ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ also not all cats are interested in fish anyway because many simply don't like the taste.

Pigeons actually aren't wild, they're feral! So this is like if he were feeding and helping a stray cat or something. Pigeons have really unhealthy diet in the wild so phil should keep feeding it!
There are also wild pigeons. I can imagine in London a pigeon might have more difficulty with healthy eating but other pigeons do have good diets. I’ve got some local pigeons where I live, in an Australian suburb. We have native pigeons but the ones near me would be a feral species. They live surrounded by nature though (I live by a big park that runs along a river and some surrounding forrest) so the pigeons’ primary food source would be insects they find in the dirt by the water or seeds and stuff they find. I often see them just chilling on the grass, pecking around for food. They’d have the same sort of diet as our native pigeons probably would. They certainly look well fed. I don’t think the distinction between feral and wild is always super clear. I’ve seen some of our wild native pigeons living in cities and wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t have the best diets compared to my feral friends.
@@genericname8727 yeah, pigeons who dont live in cities have a very different life from the ones we are used to seeing. In the right conditions, pigeons are very clean and well fed. They do take lots of baths, but in cities the only water they can bathe in is dirty, so it's mostly our fault they are disease carriers (same goes to rats)
Yes! Pigeons are only adapted to eat seeds and nothing else. You can imagine how much seed London has laying around (very little). So feeding Steve and Scraggy seed will keep them healthy and happy

This is honestly so cute to see because this pigeon TRUSTS Dan and Phil, like even when they suddenly put him in a cage and started carrying him he barely freaked out at all like most wild animals would AND he returns all the time still. I love it so much these two chose the best method of helping Steve and didn’t once think “what would be easier for US” it was only “what would be better for the pigeon” and honestly these are the types of people we need in this world, the compassion, empathy, kindness and determination is so refreshing and rejuvenating to see

Pigeons actually aren't wild, they're feral! So this is like if he were feeding and helping a stray cat or something. Pigeons have really unhealthy diet in the wild so phil should keep feeding it!
There are also wild pigeons. I can imagine in London a pigeon might have more difficulty with healthy eating but other pigeons do have good diets. I’ve got some local pigeons where I live, in an Australian suburb. We have native pigeons but the ones near me would be a feral species. They live surrounded by nature though (I live by a big park that runs along a river and some surrounding forrest) so the pigeons’ primary food source would be insects they find in the dirt by the water or seeds and stuff they find. I often see them just chilling on the grass, pecking around for food. They’d have the same sort of diet as our native pigeons probably would. They certainly look well fed. I don’t think the distinction between feral and wild is always super clear. I’ve seen some of our wild native pigeons living in cities and wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t have the best diets compared to my feral friends.
@@genericname8727 yeah, pigeons who dont live in cities have a very different life from the ones we are used to seeing. In the right conditions, pigeons are very clean and well fed. They do take lots of baths, but in cities the only water they can bathe in is dirty, so it's mostly our fault they are disease carriers (same goes to rats)
Yes! Pigeons are only adapted to eat seeds and nothing else. You can imagine how much seed London has laying around (very little). So feeding Steve and Scraggy seed will keep them healthy and happy
@@lostvalentines28 they do typically eat more than seed but yeah seeds make up a majority of what they should be eating and the other aspects of their diet aren’t usually readily available to birds in a city either
yes, it honestly shocked me that the vet gave Steve bread as its not very good for them since they can't get any nutrition out of it
