It's funny ... as a Drummer, I experimented with percussion 50 years ago (Yea, I'm old), large drums, small drums, adding snares to entire kits (yes the bass drum as well), different tuning, different materials for shells, heads, shapes, etc.. I even added mics to kits and ran them through synths, tape loops, etc..
I was ridiculed by other drummers and musicians at the time. Glad to see everyone has caught up with me (and others who have done the same).

Having done theater work in the past, I can see this being an invaluable tool in a already large set up of percussion and standard drum kit pieces to utilize in a theater setting the only issue is it's going to take up a hell of a lot of room in a very typical small space. With that said it sounds amazing and it would be fun to play.

I could imagine getting a drummer to use 3 different snares: a detuned “tin can” snare alike that of Metallica’s St Anger to work with toms in progressive parts, a typical snare with a nice loud crack to pierce through fast paced songs and a gong snare which should sound deeper and have power to its sound. Aside from that, 4-12 toms, 2 bass drums and a lotta cymbals.
