Also the water usually is fine in most places more so in the metro cities as it they usually source it from local RO plants which is good. Also you are right don't ever take ice from these shop many ice factories are dirty and these ice blocks are kept in dirty condition you definitely can ask for no ice and they will always oblige. Also ask for no sugar If you don't like excessive sugar and usually all of them will be happy to serve it without sugar

Mosambi (sweet lime) and sugar cane juice is most popular in Kolkata. It helps one to stay hydrated during the sultry, humid, energy sapping summers here.
You should also try the Bengali "aam pora shorbot", which is raw mango sherbet. Its yummy.

Sugar cane juice is naturally very sweet, so i dont think they must have added sugar.
Also, you should try neera, its a naturally made drink, and you will only get it in these summer months, its supposed to be consumed before it is much exposed to sunlight, so maybe early morning before 10am if possible because after a longtime of exposure to sunlight it ferments and becomes alcoholic.

Its available in packets in supermarkets and shops, but dont ever have that, it has so many preservatives and artificial flavour.

    This is the season for:
    (1) Pada Neer which is the sap of the toddy palm tree. You have to have it absolutely fresh, because if kept long it ferments into a potent beer.
    (2) Neera: the sap of the coconut palm, which again you need to have absolutely fresh and/or better still, chilled (note this is the sap of the tree, collected much the same way as maple syrup is, and not coconut water)!
Try them if you can. Those are the really exotic Indian juices/drinks of the season.
Don't mind my saying so, but what you had was mostly for tourists... I mean which Indian goes out for a WOG really.. 😂

Hi, I want to know if you have had a Dr. Peppers and also have tried Bovonto? Are they kind of similar? Have heard a lot of hype about Dr. Peppers but Bovonto was a bit underwhelming when I had tried it. So if they are similar, I will kinda temper my expectations of Dr. Peppers.
