Dude, I've been looking up videos on this for months and am still struggling. I think this just explained it in a way that makes sense to me. Will update tomorrow. Thanks!
I am just starting to get into MC so forgive me if i'm so clueless but why do riders stick their feet out when banking turns? Is this a bad idea if you don't have any motocross boots? Thanks
Gordon Taylor We stick our feet out to put it on the ground if we lose our balance or if the back wheel slides out and yes you probably should have mx boots. Even a really cheap pair will be better than nothing.
You can put your leg out to catch yourself if you fall, but also for balance. In a lot turns, you want your body position very upright as explained in this video and to do so, you may need to take your inside leg off to allow yourself to be upright on the bike. But definitely keep your feet on the pegs as much as possible. Boots are a must have so make sure you get a pair!
Basically it helps with balance but most importantly if you lay the bike down too much or give it too much throttle in a turn and the back wheel slides out you can catch yourself and balance so you don’t low side.
I rode quads all my life got a yz450fx for my first dirtbike. Went to the dunes during utv takeover and didnt crash or dump it once. I feel way more comfortable in sand than dirt its weird
I live in and ride in the desert. Great tips! Thanks Chase!
Thanks for watching *Chuck!*
I just put those same grips on my bike! Love them! Thanks for all the riding tips as well!!
Thanks *Joe Collins.* You have good taste!

when you live in western australia basicly sand city
im in south eastern Australia is either just shitty grey sand, shitty clay, or just rocks
👍
the first line of this video should say "sand riding tips...let me hand you over to my Dutch colleague".
lol tip 6 you missed tire pressure.
tire pressure doesnt matter as long as its right.
Good advice...however most of the video content is not sand. Kinda makes the video useless
Agreed
