Tagore wrote the poem that was used for the lyrics. The music is by Garry Schyman, and it was written and recorded for Matt Harding's Dancing video for 2008. If you look him up here (he has a channel) you can see the charming video it narrates. People all over the world coming together to dance in joy. :)

Soothe my wounded heart..this song helps me to seek the endurance of God and maintain my integrity..what else is there when you're told you have advanced stage leukemia and it's terminal?..I dedicate this song of life to all who are struggling with me in trying to understand why we have been granted this gift that is life, and how we can say thank you to Him who has given it..no blame for God..it's Stan we must resist...

Here is the English translation. Great song!
    I will not easily forget
The life that stirs in my soul
    Hidden amidst Death
    That infinite Life
I hear you in the thunder
    A simple tune
A tune to which I will arise (3x)
And in that storm of happiness
As your music plays in your mind
    The whole wide world
    Dances to your rhythm
I hear you in the thunder
    A simple tune
A tune to which I will arise (3x)

Kinda surprised that the poster did not credit the writer of those amazing lyrics.
_Praan_ is a poem by Rabindranath Tagore, one of the national treasures of India. It's from his book _Gitanjali_, which may be the most beautiful book of prayer poetry I've ever read. The pure _ecstasy_ expressed in his hymns just knocks you out. Anyone of any religion should read that book and see just how gorgeously the Divine can be praised.

Not India... Treasure of Bengal. N bengal consist of Bangladesh n Bengal part of India. He wrote this poem in Bangladesh.

      @RahulSingh-fb3nx 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Excuse me!! When you guys are gonna stop taking credits for everything? Before Independence India, Pakistan and Bangladesh were together comprised of India. He was an Indian by heart. Had he ever mentioned anything like Bangladesh? He died in 1941 before partition and Bangladesh came into existence in 1971. Does it make any sense to you? He was born and died in Indian land only.

I don't pay much attention to TV commercials, but the jingle of one this past month (July 2020) kept making my brain itch. I finally realized they'd ripped off Mr. Schyman's "Praan." Someone must have reported it before I could, because I haven't heard that ad in the past week.

Tagore did his own translation, also in lyrics, for his book "Songs Offerings". That is the one in the summary. Here is a somewhat more literal translation:
The tune that you play in your thunder is not an easy music
Give me the strength so I can wake up to that tune
I do not want to be deceived by simplicity any more
I want to celebrate the endless life that is concealed by death and destruction
Your thunder plays in the strings of my heart
The same tune that resonates with the oceans, the earth and the horizons
Let it take away the easy comforts and bring me to the depths of being
Where tumult only masks an eternal tranquility.

When I was working as a translator, I was often amazed at how many ways there are to translate a given piece when the languages are dissimilar enough. Especially poetry and/or religious writings. One of the most wonderful things about being more than monolingual - the unique "map" that is placed over the world with each language, and the different geography each map details.

    Hidden amidst Death
    That infinite Life
I hear you in the thunder
    A simple tune
A tune to which I will arise (3x)
And in that storm of happiness
As your music plays in your mind
    The whole wide world
    Dances to your rhythm

this is a literal translation of what she's singing. the poet, rabindranath tagore, would often use a free translation of his bengali poems into english, preserving the feeling, but not the literal meaning of the bengali lyrics.
