When the rev limiter meets the valve and piston lol
So I have a 2017 Opel Corsa E OPC (basically same thing as VXR but with the steering wheel on the other side). My friends got me worried about the car saying they already met 2 people who blew up the engines in them. One was stage 1 remapped the other one was bone stock. I did a car check before I bought the car and piston 4 seems slightly lower (92 on the computerized test). Currently its around 44K miles, anything in particular I should consider doing to prevent the ominous piston 4 failure or any other failures at this point? I really do enjoy the Corsa and I use it as a daily as well as weekend/trackday car. I'm not even thinking about tuning the engine but would it be correct to change the pistons to forged ones already?

Valve. Me and Steve suspected this was going to be the case with this. 8.5k limiter ain't good on these at all even with valve springs.

Soon as you guys have rebuilt it he wants to get it to courtney sport and have it mapped bring that limiter down. Probably worth him calling them sooner then later as I know there a good few months wait list for the dyno
@vxracing380 hes gonna get a base map from them & were gonna send the ecu off, so he can bed it in, then advised him to take it to them for mapping after and get it dropped
Another note is know the oil in that is millers oil around 2k oil. And that stuff seems to black quickly. I know a few people say the same my self and Steve included.

Couldn't quite understand ... what's was the reason for the dropped valve?
Fuelling & too much red lining & 8.5k rpm limit, plus the valves areweaker than uprated valves, more spring resistance means more slamming shut of the valves, hence why the end fell off

I'm from Portugal and I'm forging mine. This car is very rare here! I purchased arp head stud and main stud bit it came with no values since it seems its a custom made. The guys who sold me told 109nm for the head and 84nm for the main studs? Do you think its okay?
Hi guys , from South Africa and need some urgent help. I replaced an old Z16LER engine in my son's Corsa and installed an A16LER everything plugs in exactly the same and the car runs and starts but wont go faster than 80km per hour any advice would be much appreciated

Only takes afew seconds to be honest, especially at 8.5k rpm

So for someone installing supertech stage 2 springs and retainers and inconel valves 8k would be doable?

sweet. so not sure if you know but the reason for a valve to snap its head off is if the seat isnt true or the valve is slightly bent on the head, and not true to the seat it rocks it back and forth and shears the head off. how it got bent could be anyones guess but a bit of dirt etc trapped in the seat can cause it to tilt the head slightly and causes that rocking action o shear the head off. not tune related or power related. im stock valves at 1140bhp@@RustyAutos
