    I have been working with the Halo O go's for several months now. I my opinion they are the only true ombre yarn out there! I do agree that the darker side is thinner than the lighter side and that they should make the spools with more of the lighter colors. I have had no issues with pulling from the darker side. I stick the hook of my crochet hook into the middle of it and pull out the start of the yarn. I actually find that it is easier to work from the darker side than the lighter side that is unwinding from the outside. Thank you for this video. I had not seen anyone else work with this yarn at all. I believe it is available on Yarnspirations as well as JoAnn's.

      That is an awesome tip about hooking and pulling yarn out of the dark end!!! I’m totally going to try that!!! I’m glad you are enjoying this yarn too, it’s such a beautiful ombré! I’m smitten, lol! I’ll have to check out the yarnspirations website! Thank you for watching and commenting Debbie, I really appreciate talking to other “yarnies”! Have a great weekend 😁

    The halo on that yarn makes it looks so fluffy and soft. I’ve never bought any of that yarn because of how it’s wound up. But it sounds very nice!

      It’s not bad if you put from the right end of the “cone” but you could also cake it up! If you are looking for an amazing ombré, I wouldn’t let the packaging get to you!

    Your scarf is beautiful! I have never tried any of the O'go yarns because of the way they are wound, but I will definitely be on the lookout for Halo; it looks like a lovely yarn and I love the halo! Will be watching for your video on how to do the granny ripple! Thank you for sharing!

    Hi Shannon I don't think that either ombre Red Heart or Caron Halo is better than the other. They just bring something different to the table. While the Caron Halo makes me go Ahhhhhh. The Red Heart ombre makes me go Wowwww. Just some thoughts.

    That scarf turned out beautifully. I love the idea of making a blanket with that yarn. I bought a lot back when they were on a good sale and I had a 25% off coupon I was able to use on top the sale. I think they ended up being just over $4 each. Might have to set several aside for a blanket.

      Oh wow that’s a great deal!!!! I’m definitely going to pick up more…..especially if there’s an even bigger discount!!! I know Leah Crochets made a beautiful blanket for the Linus Project out of a couple halos!!!

    • @ShannonTalksYarn
      @ShannonTalksYarn  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You totally should! Just remember to pull from the “outside of the cone” side of it once you cut the plastic holder apart. It should always be pulling from the outside not the center. I think that gets a lot of people! Let me know how it goes!!!
