I chuckled when you forgot the foam board and cut through your table. I literally did this yesterday and now my folding table is just a half inch cut away from having an extra fold. Loved the video!

Thanks. They’re Hawaiian Ti. They’re a great low maintenance option. Easy to propagate too. Just cut and stick in the ground. I have them all over my yard. All from just a few plants. Cheers

I knew the moment you stopped with the track saw what you'd done! Tough to cut into your work surface. Really tough to cut into your tool! Nice job persevering.

Love watching budget builds turn out beautiful. Incredibly satisfying and it's important for beginners to see things like this. Most of the YT content creators would have you believe if you're not buying $1k's worth of baltic birch, that it won't come out well.

The end result came out great. As you were using the track saw on the table saw and outfeed I was thinking, "where is the foam board!?"
I discovered with my second entire-house trim-out that if you add one or two custom S4S profiles to your regular big box profiles, the end result looks custom. Regular people notice something is different too, and a seasoned carpenter will immediately notice the non standard pieces while he’s feeling your joints & corners either secretly or obviously lol. Any window and door store will also offer moldings that are unusual and not terribly expensive if ordered out of poplar

Great job. I would have edge banded the drawer fronts. Last thing I want it to pull out clothes and get a snag or splinter.

15:22 I managed to rip plywood sheets in half accurately on my table saw and I don’t have any supporting tables. My saw table is a bit bigger, but I had to free hand it the way you did.
I definitely get more accurate results with my track. I have a baby table saw though 😂

Thanks. The closet is 72”w x 69”L. The cabinet is 47w x 22d x 40 h. This allowed me to use less plywood

Try a 50/50 mix (or whatever ratio you want) of white latex paint and water for a cheap white wash before you add polycrylic next time--it gives the pine a lighter look.

Do you have a link to the plywood cut calculator software? I'll be building some cabinets for the living room soon and wouldn't mind letting the computer do all of that work figuring out how to optimize the plywood. I feel your pain on availability of quality plywood. I too am in a rural area, the nearest quality lumber supplier is 60 miles away.
If you google plywood cut optimizer. You’ll find a few different options. I mixed it up based on how they produce the cuts and what features they offer. For example, step by step cut lists. Thanks for watching

What program were you using for the cut list?
It’s not a program. Just Google cut list optimizer
I understand budgets differ for everyone, but please consider a better quality plywood in the future. Yes I understand it's a closet, yes I understand it's still decent looking enough. But also consider that you spend a lot of time building everything and your labor is way more in value that another $200 for a quality veneer ply won't be much after it's all done. 👍

Great job and I love your backyard shop! Do you find those drawer pulls catch onto clothing? I’ve not been a fan of those type of pulls for closets. A curved notch out of the face at the top of the drawer instead of a pull eliminates the protrusion, but they do tend to collect more dust inside the drawer.
They’re definitely not my favorite but at $0.75 a piece it’s hard to find cheaper. Thanks for watching
