  • The Boredbrain Patchulator Pro is the newest evolution of the company’s groundbreaking desktop / pedalboard patch bay. Designed specifically as a tool for experimental signal routing of effects, pedals, drum machines, synths, and a myriad of other signals, the Patchulator Pro makes adventurous signal chain implementation easier than ever. It features 10 discrete send/return channels, a main instrument channel that’s switchable between two signal chains, universal TRS connections to accommodate a wide array of analog sources, and a bypass setting for pop-free live patching and quick A/B-ing of two signal chains. The Patchulator Pro lets you route and re-route your signal flow endlessly in any way you can imagine, and it’s fully passive, so it won’t require any power from your board. It includes 12 mini patch cables to get you started. In this video we employ the Boredbrain Patchulator Pro in a post-rock setting with guitar and pedalboard to give you a taste of its capabilities, while also covering some of its functional aspects.

Boredbrain should just make a 42" X 14" pedalboard that has 20 patch point bay built into it and a power supply equivalent to the Strymon Zuma with 20 9V 500mA outlets built into it, and it would come with all the cables to wire up the pedals. That turn key solution would sell like mad! The pedalboard itself should come with legs that can screw into it, like a card table, that allows the pedalboard to sit at waist height like a table because that is how most people use pedals now and especially if they are going to be using them with a patch bay and constantly be re-ordering them by re-patching. This is work that is done in a studio environment, not in a live stage scenario, which is why its really important to have a pedalboard that can sit at waist height. It's about coming up with a solution to a very big ergonomics problem that now exists due to the nature of people working with modern digital pedals instead of rack gear, in home studios.

Of course I just bought a second Patchulator v2 a month ago!
So the a/b switching means you can't cross route between the two sides?

The Patchulator Pro has internal jumpers that you can switch from a/b mode to what they call "MULTIPLE ALWAYS ACTIVE" mode, which lets you patch and route freely between the two sides.

@@HarshTonesInc ah gotcha. The literature available sounds like its a, b or bypass.
In your opinion is it captivating enough to buy even though I have 2 patchulators already? Gotta say, the form factor is much better than v1 and v2... Those make for an awkward pedalboard.

They mention the jumpers and how to switch them over in the tech specs section of the manual.
So I guess it all depends on your setup and how you want to use them, but I'd probably go for the Pro. For me the shape and layout works better

Hi. Thanks for your interest. There really aren't "two sides" to Patchulator Pro. Any of the FX channels can be routed anywhere, and nothing is tied to the two selectable output sources until you patch it there. The internal jumpers allow the two source copies (or multiples) to be always active or not, which is explained on the website and User Guide if you need more details on why you''d want to do that. :)@@BobbyGeneric145 @HarshTonesInc

@@BoredbrainMusicHi there. I noticed this is presented as an effects patch bay. Does this mean I can’t use it as a standard patch bay to route my synths to my audio interface/mixer and patch effects into them from the top?
