    I think it’s super important to note how preliminary the data is to support the efficacy of both Bakuchiol AND growth factors in skincare. And here is a line whose foundation rests on both of them. There is little research to support their efficacy. These are some very expensive products to be promoting with little data to support them. People should know that.

I only had temples and breakout on my temples for some reason maybe because of my hair, but in any case I use this solution all over the face and those pimples have disappeared! I have been using retinol for a few years but I got tired of the side effects dryness, irritation, peeling and redness. I decided to try some different products instead. One of them was the inkey list bakuchiol 1%. I used it at night for 2 months. My skin stayed glowy and hyperpigmentation kept away. But it didn't help me with oiliness and acne and the fine lines began to return. I know they say to use it twice a day, but then one bottle would have only lasted a month so it's not that affordable then. Back on retinol because I think it's more anti aging and works better for my skin issues. Lately I've been using only adapalene AKA differin with fantastic results and less side effects than retinol. My skin looks better than it has in years at age 45. I do think that the inkey list bakuchiol is a good one, just not the same as retinoids. I wonder if the percentage was higher if it would work better.

    • @jessicaguevara9650
      @jessicaguevara9650 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jessicaguevara9650 for me there were side effects with different as well in the beginning but now I can use it every other night with no side effects. That never happened when I used retinol. And I had literally no side effects at all from bakuchiol. The inkey list is the only affordable product on the market for that right now, but they want you to use it twice a day to try to get the same results as retinol

    Thanks for the deep dive on this! I saw your video about the lash serum and did some research, which including reading about meibomian glands. One doctor stated she doesn't recommend retinols on the face due to their drying effects on the delicate meibomian glands, and I literally laughed out loud when I read that! I couldn't imagine life without retinol and have been using them for 20+ years. This video is great news if bakuchiol really is a viable alternative, and I'll be interested in learning more. Having suffered with dry eyes and blepharitis for over 20 years, I can tell you, it is miserable, with constant eye watering and pain and redness in the corners of the eyelids. I finally found a dry eye doctor who is helping me get relief, and I wish I had found him sooner. There is not much I wouldn’t have done to have my eyes feel better.

    I used to be on a micro encapsulated form of Retin A at the strongest dose (.1%) and while it didn’t make me flake or anything, no irritation, I felt that I was getting some broken capillaries. However, I didn’t want to get off of it because it was really improving my suuuuuper oily skin. I started using Altreno, which is a .05% strength, but this form of Retin A also has hyaluronic acid, soluble collagen, and glycerin. I LOVE this product. I’ve heard that Retinaldehyde - especially the Osmosis variety- does just as good of a job without broken capillaries.

    A little to expensive for me right now. Have shelled out a bit of cash for treatments and now Christmas, time off from work because of the holiday and now freezing snow ice here in Seattle!! Maybe once real life takes off again. I do pay just a 10.00 copay for my tretanoin, this helps!! New insurance company rocks! 😉😆
    Would love to try as I can't use retin a every night. I've tried for years. I continue to use it, but every 3rd night, and in a moisturizer sandwich. This is what my esthetician told me to do.
    Thanks for the education Dr R. Hope your having a nice holidays. 😊

    I've been using Retinol 1% for more then 30 years. I can only use it every 5 days. I still peel after 2-3 days. I look forward to that exfoliation to reveal new skin. I don't have wrinkles. It's been painful and ugly at times but well worth it. I also use a smaller amount on neck and decolletage.

      @@amparocoles9371 Hi, I replied the other day but either it never went through or was deleted. Anyway, I'm an American living in Czech Republic, I buy my bakuchiol here locally. I don't know if they ship internationally or how you'd deal with customs. Either way, I use my avocado oil (organic, which is normally for cooking) on clean skin after I shower at night. I cleanse gently with a little baking soda (after spending thousands of dollars over the years, I've found baking soda to be the absolute BEST!) - I apply it just like I would any moisturizer on face and neck. In the morning, I first cleanse with some rose water and a cotton pad, then apply argon oil in the same way as the avocado oil and then apply my foundation & makeup as usual. The bakuchiol I typically apply only at night. The other oils are dry and non greasy. Hope this helped :)
